Thought I'd try my hand at a diverging diamond:

It's my first complicated-ish interchange. Don't know what benefits it would have in a city, but it looks neat and it works, which is a big thing for me!

Time to show some of the interchanges i built for the past couple of months... Click for full size. Sorry for the "footer", I don't know how to hide it before capture.

First, some urban interchanges...

This one lacks only one link.

0-thumb.png

I like this one, but it lacks two links, and the top-left link isn't smooth enough.

5-thumb.png

Spaghettis.

2-thumb.png

8C -> L2 6S x L1 RHW2 -> DDRHW-4

3-thumb.png

6S T-bone.

4-thumb.png

Some more rural now...

A classic trumpet between 6S/8S and 6C.

1-thumb.png

Another trumpet with less capacity.

6-thumb.png

Tried to do a T-bone with FlexFly and FlexMIS. Interesting, but not very stable ;)

Hope you enjoyed them.

Of Course I'll enjoy them! One single hit, for an interchange!

I have to be honest with you guys, I am total loser at this, all I could do is a diamond exchange but hey, it's the easiest and smallest interchange there is. :P

I'll post an image when I'm done. :D

I'd change it to a regular AVE-4 at the crossing, use the tulep pieces to create off ramps and use MIS instead of OWR-1, since they're basically the same, then have it transition back to a RD-4 after the crossing. You'll keep you're RD-4, and you may like the look of the median in the transition. Worth a try...

A T-bone interchange. That texturs issue is really annoying me, but I don't want to rebuild this entire interchange.

It may seem a little unconventional, but it all works and I definitely think it's pretty good for being my first interchange with a diagonal stretch of highway. :D

This is post #2844.  There appear to be diagonal ramps that have merge lanes.  I just cannot figure out where they are or how to draw them.  Any ideas?

a tee interchange

With that size culvert I'll bet that interchange can handle some significant flow!

The fishies will have lots of collisions if you don't at least build some loop ramps for them :)

Experimenting with a new interchange design for sunken highways. Since this is an experiment, there's no other development yet.

Wow, that really looks like a city that has seen much improvements. I've seen one of your videos on that city in particular. That surely wasn't easy.

Very nice McDuell as always! That last one is my favorite of the bunch. All fantastic! :thumb:

Not nearly as impressive but I finished my bridge and approaches. It includes a folded diamond interchange (rebuilt for like the 5th time since 2007) to the south and a 'ramp complex' to the north.

So I just finished my first interchange between two freeways. It's the first really complex interchange I've done with the RHW. I've had this game since 2005 but I'm new to RHW and the NAM, since I only recently discovered the SC4 community when I started playing this game again back in March. If only I'd found out about this stuff sooner!

So this interchange is a clover-turbine interchange in the city of Mountain View, a suburb located to the north of Twin Forks, which is going to be one of the two big cities in my region. The freeway going north-south (top to bottom) is the I-35, which to the south takes you to the more urban city of Twin Forks, and to the north is a suburban area called Mountain View because it is at the foot of a mountain range, which the I-35 snakes through. The east-west freeway is the I-70; to the east, I plan to have it go to another city on the coast. It took me several days to work on this interchange. I finished it a little while ago, or so I thought.

    uszNiTQ.jpg

Then I realized that I didn't quite design it right. The problem with the interchange design was that the ramp from WB I-70 to SB I-35 (the one with the flexfly) was too sharp IMO for the amount of traffic that would be using it. That, along with the messed-up onslope transitions, made me re-do it. I figured that it wouldn't be that hard to re-do it so that the west-to-south ramp would be the one looping around the whole interchange, while the north-to-west ramp would have the flexFly. Turns out it was easier said than done... After spending another couple nights re-doing it, I finally was happy with it. I ended up re-doing it a bit more than planned just to make it easier on myself. So here's how it turned out: (I know, I still have to finish putting in all the lights, but you get the idea)

A few close-ups showing cars driving on this new interchange:

    goFSzgY.jpg

Also to the north on I-35 is a simple diamond interchange that provides access to the suburban area. Perhaps I should use a different soundwall, since it is painfully obvious that this one is overscaled.

    EShBXNr.jpg

    Hope you enjoyed these photos!

PS: some of the soundwalls may seem unnecessary right now, but I plan to have housing developments all around these interchanges.
