Fighting with Hal for attention here...

Now to build around it. Shall be fun.

This is a competition now? Well I guess you beat me based on rep :P

Serious side now: nice work! Beautiful use of FARHW, especially for that loop! :)

Cool, but why don't you connect the RHW-2 offramp to that road by s-curving the road to meet up with it at the intersection instead of having two intersections?  Looks like the current layout would produce an awkward situation for left turns and cause traffic problems.  Just a suggestion.

I originally intended for that road to head over the RHW but by the looks of it there won't be enough room to do so (it will hit the off ramp). So yeah that is a good idea, or alternatively rebuild the interchange with the ramps moved a bit over so it connects. Thanks for the comment; will give some thought into it.

Heres one in a city I'm working on and as my city grows I keep finding myself adding access points to it - no telling what this contraption will eventually become.  :D

Thanks - I added that funky ramp to that interchange because the freight trucks from the industrial area wanted to go east-bound so they would head over the overpass through the neighborhoods and use that diamond to go east. I just thought they would go north, but no.

No, it was a mistake :uhm: . I didn't realize it until later after I posted that pic. The original idea was this:

When I changed that diagonal part to go straight down instead I forgot the connection from the loop. I'll post it again when I fix it.

    EDIT*** ok, here's the update

    Very nice work guys.

I have been looking at interchanges made in SimCity 4 for 10 years now and I am amazed at just how much the quality has improved, especially as of late. (I started lurking Simtropolis in 2004.)

    Great work everyone!

I wanted to start with a butterfly interchange, but after the first circle i thought i make it a little bit different. So that happened...

It may seem a little unconventional, but it all works and I definitely think it's pretty good for being my first interchange with a diagonal stretch of highway. :D

Just finished converting a diamond to a Parclo-Hybrid; here's the result (not completely MMP'd and/or signed):

The creativity and quality of these interchanges are great (and constantly getting better), but there's one thing I'm noticing is missing:  Most of them are laid out on either a blank terrain or the suburban fringe (i.e. the layout seems to be very accomodating).

Does anybody have any examples of cutting a brand new RHW through an already established area of development?  Something with a lot of constraints and/or eminent domain acquisitions.  Sure, you don't see much of that anymore, but think about what happened to countless US (and some Canadian) cities in the 1960s-70s.  Especially some monstrosity featuring weaving and/or C-D lanes, as are often required mainline interchanges that also have to interface with surface streets - a good example would be something like  Throw in some cut-off and relocated local streets for good measure.  Eventually I want to get to that point myself in my CJ, but some inspiration to start with would be great!

Just finished another one. This doesn't have as much volume being pushed through it as the other parclo, but I'd like to see how it develops over time.

As always, have a good one!

I can think of a number of ways you can improve this. It doesn't look very effective, and it takes up lots of space. Replacing the hills in the center of the interchange with elevated pieces opens up a range of possibilities, and you may find the FLEX pieces helpful in many ways. :)

Will try your advice, still exploring the RHW mod. Learning every day! ;)
