Thanks Fantozzi.  Will be keeping an eye on further development now that I know it's being made.

It's actually finished, but not rendered yet. Thing is I lost the halfly completed files last year and I havent gotten around to do it again since it takes so much time, but it's on my list.

Bummer about losing the files, but glad to hear you haven't abandoned it.  Can't wait to see how it'll look in-game someday.

Can anyone throw together some lots of clustered houses like these, pretty please?

Preferably 3x5 with a bunch of R$ maxis houses, and maybe even Wallibuk's south american houses clustered together, as in the picture

This would be great for the regions i'm doing <3

Well, that wouldn't be a BAT request then, as the needed models exist. In any case, I think that maybe @Edvarz could be interested on relotting them.

Another interesting option could be to make an MMP with those models, but in that case, you would need some extra lotting to keep the simulation coherent.

@Xephren try SimCoug's Old R$ Neighbourhoods (that's the title of the STEX upload), sounds like basically exactly what you want.

thank you @matias93 and @licoricebomb, this community is really helpful

as for the SimCoug's Old R$ Neighborhoods, they are very nice and ill check it out,

however they have more of an American vibe, Im looking for something Asian-Southeast Asian themed

In that case, you should check out Kei's stuff hosted on gobanbishi's site. Some of SOMY's stuff could also be up your alley. More residential on this page.

TOKYO SKY TREE (google map)

20170203013703_1059021555_13245_9.jpg220px-The_Tokyo_SkyTree_2012.jpg

Description:Tokyo Skytree is a broadcasting, restaurant, and observation tower in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. It became the tallest structure in Japan in 2010 and reached its full height of 634.0 metres (2,080 ft) in March 2011, making it the tallest tower in the world, displacing the Canton Tower, and the second tallest structure in the world after the Burj Khalifa (from wiki)

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

I would like to see  sky tree can be used for various other uses in different cities people create.

Anyone interested in creating the historic Walker Building which is probably the most recognizable building in Salt Lake City.  It was built in 1912 which should make this a classic.  The most wonderful aspect of this building is the Walker Tower which sits on top of 16 stories of office space.

Governor Phillip Tower and Governor Macquarie Tower, Aurora Place, Chifley Tower, Deutsche Bank Place, Sydney Tower in Sydney, Australia

CSPS-Sydney-skyline-from-Mrs-Macquaries-

Description:

From right to left in the photo: Governor Phillip Tower, Governor Macquarie Tower, Aurora Place, Chifley Tower, Deutsche Bank Place  and Sydney Tower

Governor Phillip Tower: Recognised on the Sydney skyline for its soaring granite, glass and steel facade crowned by stainless steel blades.

- Governor Macquarie Tower: Stands at 41 storeys and is adjacent and south of Governor Phillip Tower. It has identical façade treatments but its form and massing are significantly different with no dramatic roof structure, and it has staggered, rather than sheer lines.

- Aurora Place: is the common name of Renzo Piano's award-winning office tower and residential block. The 41-storey structure is 218 metres (718ft) high to the top of the spire and 188 metres to the roof. The building has an unusual geometric shape where not one panel is parallel to any grid.

- Chifley Tower: Is a premium skyscraper in Sydney, Australia. It was designed by New York City-based architects Travis McEwen and Kohn Pedersen Fox, with John Rayner as project architect

- Deutsche Bank place: Is 240 meters high and is thesecond-tallest building in the world with fewer than 40 floors.

- Sydney Tower: At 309 meters, Sydney Tower is Sydney's tallest structure and the second tallest observation tower in the Southern Hemisphere.

Why these would be beneficial for the game or community:

Each of them is unique for different reasons as highlighted in the description above. They are each perfect for a harbour city (essential if you were trying to truly recreate Sydney) or a financial district and have crowns or design elements which would stand out in the game unlike most buildings

I'd love if someone would consider putting together some new housing packs. There's a lack of good quality UK-style new-build housing and it would be great it someone could consider it.

Examples such as;

They could work well for non-UK style cities also.

Chicago City Hall

clZ7W2.jpg

Context:

Dear devoted BATers,

By using the opportunity offered by this very interesting thread, may I suggest the modelling of the Chicago City Hall in order to add a functional, iconic and monumental neoclassical building to the already well supplied STEX collection.
I thought about this BAT particularly because it could be a profitable and useful addition due to the deficit of neoclassical landmarks for SC4 despite some beautiful realisation such as JamesFarley Post Office or the Alexander Hamilton Custom House,...

Anyway there is no significant realisation of a City Hall that could by used in every kind of city, despite the work done by Mattb325 to create small municipal buildings.

Description:

As can be seen in the pictures below, the Chicago City Hall is a monumental building with an imposing granite facade composed of ten massive columns. Having said that, the architecture of the building remains quite
simple with a parallelepiped shape. The 11-story structure was designed in the classical revival style. The only modern addition is a roof garden at the top of the building.

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

A SC4 version of the Chicago City Hall could represent an opportunity for gamers to replace Maxis City Hall by a better adjusted building. A such addition would definitely be an asset (as a functional building or not finally) among others American buildings, which still represents a large portion of the STEX. However, the architecture of the building itself, which stays internationally compatible, could interest many gamers.

Of course, needless to say that this proposal is just an idea pitched to the community *:thumb:

If anyone is willing to make some more name brand commercial stuff (e.g. Save a Lot, Dollar General or modern restaurants, etc.) let me know. I got a whole list of ideas that could be done if one would be willing to make them. I'd also be more then happy to lot the buildings for you.

I was wondering if anyone would create the Granada Building and the Arlington Fox theater from Santa Barbara Ca.?  The first accurately scaled map I made was of my old hometown and wanted to start developing the region for some old schoolmates I went to school with back in the 70s that still live there.  Having those two buildings would give it the feel of Santa Barbara.  Unfortunately, google maps won't let me print screen to get photos of these buildings.  I'll ask a friend of mine who's a photographer if he can snap some photos of both buildings for me and then post them here.

Here's the only photo of the Arlington that I can find, this where I saqw Star Wars in July '77, Jaws in '75, Alien in '79, Empire Strikes Back in '80 and Jedi ion '83.  Plus I saw Asia and George Thorogood there in the early 80s.   So this old building holds a lot of good memories for me of my early years in life.  I just talked to an old school buddy and asked him to take some photos of both buildings.  He got kind of excited when I said I could re-build SB in my image and readily jumped at the chance to take those photos.

Zamora General is a pretty decent one.

As is Linda Swampy...

I've had some success taking these two and combining them with several other hospitals in game to create a complex.  But yes, I would also like to see some more large hospital complexes like the massive Barnes-Jewish/Washington University complex in St. Louis.

Google is a bit out of date.  The blue dots represent new high-rises and other institutional buildings that have been completed.

I have a BAT request that might be fun for someone who's looking to do something a bit different.  A lot of cities on large bodies of water have large cribs or intakes for their water supply.  Chicago has some pretty famous cribs in Lake Michigan, I think Cleveland has some too.  In St. Louis we have two stunning intake towers in the center of the Mississippi River.  They are located in an un-navigable part of the river called the Chain of Rocks (named for a literal chain of rocks just under the surface of the water) and except for in high water conditions are inaccessible to boat traffic.  All river traffic uses the Chain of Rocks Canal just east of here.  The first image shows both, the one on the left (Intake 2) was built in the early 1900s.  Intake 1, on the right, was built before that in 1891.  You can also make out the tips of the chain of rocks just beyond the tower on the right. Both fed water into the massive Chain of Rocks Water Treatment Plant on the west bank of the river.  While I believe the intake pipes are still in use today, the towers themselves serve no real purpose anymore, all controlled by computers on shore now.

So if someone wants to take up the BAT, I think these would make a very unique pumping station for SC4.
I have tons of pictures too if need be.

I have another request.  This is One Hundred N Kingshighway in St. Louis.  Recently broke ground, designed by Studio Gang (would love to see some of their Chicago work here too).
