Has anyone tried to relot The Singer Building that was in STEX using Lot Editor?  I loved the building but thought the lot could be improved.  I've tried to do it but I have to stop banging my head against the wall in trying to make it work.  Has anyone had any better luck?  If so, how did you do it using Lot Editor.  Thanks.

Description:

Built 1915? by detroit edison, the 7 stacks were dubbed a landmark by local Fisherman and pilots.

The 2 stacks were added on the boiler house in 1950, but the 7 stacks were imploded in 1996.

Dear neighbours, the problem remains. I spent months to relot every plausible bat I have into a residential. The game itself needs much more residentials compared to industrials and commericals. If I download one industrial and one commercial - I'll have to download 3 residentials to have some kind of 'bat balance' in my plugins folder. Now there are these beautiful commercial skyscrapers offering 5000, 6000, 7000 and even more jobs. And if I find a hd residential overseeing the last two, three years - if it has 600, 700 occupants I call myself lucky. But I need 10 of them just to balance the amount of occupants.

To me this diverges more and more. Well, and it's realism that outside of Hongkong and apart from Bixel, residential often don't reach the capacities of commercial towers. So I would say, roundabout, to have a good looking city you'll need even a rate of 1:4 or 1:5 regarding these wonderfull commercial towers and residentials.

But the need for mid and highrise residentials remains. Basicall it never ends - it's like a treadmill, as for every new commercial or industrial building I download arises a need for roundabout 3 to 5 residentials to keep at least by trend an occupants proportion in my plugin folder. And those wonderfull commercials - if I plop one of them and I know now 5 ugly residentials will grow around them - well their beauty seems somewhat violated by the environment. Or - if my cities passing the half million size they tend to look all the same, the residential zones become hong-kongyfied ... or maybe bixelized...? Wel, okay, that' exagerated - as with some selection and relotting and correction you can adjust this.

But still - more residential would help to keep Major Fantozzi calm and relaxed and less despotic. And that's why I strongly recommend to make residentials. The more residential like bats you upload the more he's busy whith using them - the less he will drive us nuts.

And that's an argument, isn't it?

So there's a couple of Residential buildings I'd like to see.

 

First is this house in my hometown, that ha unique wood siding.

Secondly this apartment complex in my hometown

I've yet to see this style of wood siding in Sim City.

Building request:
The tower of Barad-Dur, complete with the eye of Sauron on top, from The Lord of the Rings movies. If possible, make it growable. When disaster strikes an advanced city, and end-stage towers are suffering abandonment all around, Barad-Dur can appear in their midst, supplying huge quantities of slave labor. If Barad-Dur appears in your city, then something's gone horribly wrong.

Then again, you could make it a ploppable monument for the mayor who wants to keep an "eye" on his sims. Maybe it could even be a re-skin of one of the census mods.

I really like this one from your suggestions. Checking it's dimensions on GE it wouldn't be W2W in game, but I think it's worth doing it. I'll take this request.
There are two other in the street that I really like and have perfect dimensions to SC4, the number 424 and the taller one from the block, I couldn't identify its name or number.

Do not know about you guys, but am I the only one who would like New Orleans French Quarter buildings, parks, etc. As well as other iconic New Orleans-Cajun architecture?

 

Just some random inner-French quarter houses.

The St. Louis Cathederal and Cabildo (left) and state museum to the right. 

As well as outside of New Orleans other Louisiana cities like Houma, Napoleonville, etc. has interesting southern architecture of the past and present that would be a interesting thing, especially things like the old Houma Courthouse, before FDR's WPA tore it down for the current one.

I personally would love to see this, as you can see it's my profile picture. 

Southdown Plantation in Houma would be a nice museum piece.

Old City Hall, which could be modeled as a theater or a government reward building.

St. Francis de Sales Cathedral

Hotel L'Acadian (could be not in disrepair)
