I'm not sure if I'd get it. I'd want a Japanese-style set up available, and for it to be easy enough to pick up without having to spend too much time at it (free time is short here).  But the seasonal weather, that's awesome.  I wonder what kind of PC resources it would demand.  I have but this humble laptop.  It looks great, and I am intrigued.  But intrigued and planning to buy it are two different things...

 

EDIT: It does make me wanna play Civ, though.

Looks interesting, though i would prefer a game where I could just build something without needing to follow some sort of plan (basically, a sandbox mode) unless I felt like it at the time.

GeometryMath Algebra    It's a possibility. It has the look I tried to create with early Schulmania but could not continue due to the small supply of that style content. I may be able to revisit early Schulmania.

NMUSpidey    It does intrigue me. I am not so much into the scenarios as I am into the building of stuff. But I am intrigued. Very intrigued.

Markus J    Agreed! I think the game has solid potential. All I need now if to learn how to take video screen caps. Right now I use the iPhone and record the screen... not so great. I know there's better ways.

I used Microsoft Expressions, it's free for up to 10 minutes and great quality. I'm poor, maybe one day will get some donations or famous (lol) but for now that works with Windows Movie Maker (2.6)

I have *"C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -intro:off -w -CPUcount:1* in the shortcut for SC4, the -w to keep it in windowed mode so you don't end up needing to minimize it when you take pictures, and the -CPUcount:1 seems to keep it from randomly crashing for no noticeable reason. The quotes are necessary I think, the *'s are just to show what goes in the target box. (The part in quotes should already be there, though modified depending on where SC4 is installed on your computer)

 

When something goes missing, I tend to say (or think to myself) "a leech ate it." If it's a black hole leech, they'll eat anything... sometimes they eat so much they explode.

Made a little something new and decided to add it in here rather than wait for it to get a mention in a future chapter about the capital's 3rd district... behold:

This new museum next to Sardine Square is home to great exhibits on the natural world, fossils and all sorts of cool stuff. And there's a special gallery devoted to our way cool ancestors!

It tells SC4 to only use one CPU core, as SC4 was made before most computers had more than one CPU and so it doesn't know how to utilize more than one, which apparently confuses it sometimes.

 

Right click on the shortcut to SC4 and select "properties," there should be a line that says target: with a box with something along the lines of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" in it (a link to where the actual SC4 .exe file is located), with the quotes. Just add a space after that and add "-CPUcount:1" (without the quotes)

 

I'm not sure if there's any differences between Windows 7 and 8 for the shortcut properties, though. Copy and paste the shortcut somewhere safe first in case you make a mistake.

East Atkinos: Downtown Abbey

Outside of the East Atkinos town of Christinburg (halfway between West Forest and the Woods of Wayne) Fleet Captain Splunt and his bride, the Baroness of Pyy, are building an estate. For some reason, they have decided to name it "Downton Abbey."

There's no telling what kind of drama may transpire at this lovely new estate. The Fleet Captain and his wife lead a very drama free life. But, when you factor in the intrigue of the servants and the guests... there's always something afoot!
 

A long drive leads from Christinburg to Downton. The Fleet Captain often accesses the home by helicopter from the regional capital of West Forest. After all, with Queensferry forces entrenched along the coast, one must always be ready at a moment's notice.
