After 5 hours in Photoshop I got this monster (6240 x 3440):

http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5514/9718669681_7717047514_o.jpg

I know there are some cuts in the image, it was badly pieced together, and the building repetition is not great plus the trees can block your view significantly!

Janbiya; those are some incredible mosaics!

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

Uhm, just a question. I hope I'm not being rude. What is a mosaic? Is it the arrangement of the lots or the color?

A mosaic is a type of picture.  Originally, the word meant a picture made up of many small objects, like glass, cloth, etc.

On the internet it has come to mean a simple compound picture--in this case, several screenshots edited together to form one large one.

Yes, it's like taking a panorama. It shows a large picture of someting you can't capture in just one shot.

There are some really great mosaics here! I particularly like MilitantRadical's, Fox's and LnX's. Very impressive :D

ME:TMW's episodes are almost always containing at least one mosaic. It tends to be like that when I either get an interesting idea, or I generally feel like slapping an entire update in one horrendously large picture :P A few are quite long and each are radically different from each other which is why I find it difficult to say which is my favorite. I don't want to pollute the thread, so I might just list my favorites in no particular order (too many to count lol) :P

Is it too many? This isn't even my entire ME:TMW collection of mosaics, but it's pretty close huehue. It's a lot of images, so it's upto you if you want to have a look at all or some of them :)

Looks nice! I like the massive development you've got here. Just some tips to improve it further. Maybe it would look better if you use underpasses at the highways instead of bridges. If you use bridges it might be worth thinking about a sunken highway. There are really cool walls you could use. I'm using there are other downloads of these same walls, I would recommend to download them as well.

@Ln X Wow, that's simply stunning work. Everything from sidewalks to grasses completely unified, even the RHW textures don't stand out. Great use of unmolested terrain textures where appropriate, with some superbly detailed flora and fauna. Then there are the diagonal houses in all the right places. In this one picture you've captured the essence of what SC4 can be with enough effort. Hat's off to you sir.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

The mosaics here are very good so far! :D

Its a two picture mosaic put together in Windows Paint. This bridge took out over 100,000 dollars to create, straight out of the mayor's wallet! :ducky:

The bridge itself looks great, and so does the mosaic! :golly:

If I had built this bridge, I'd probably obsess over the placement of the pillar and the main bridge arches now: I'd try to get the wide arch spanning the river, or at the very least to avoid the double pillars right where I suppose the shipping channel would be. However, you are not me, and I don't even know if that river will ever see commercial ship traffic, so that doesn't need to concern you. I'm just rambling a little...

Considering the rail bridge pillar span is so narrow, maybe the arch wouldn't be so useful to center over the riverbed...
