I know, but this is easier to access and, less sketchy, I know it's safe, but not everybody trusts wordpress websites, I remember not too long ago a huge incident happened in the U.K on a wordpress website, causing them not to be able to access the website. This is for convenience and safety.

Also, please change those light colours on white.  They are illegible.

Done, sorry, didn't know that.

A nice idea to share them here.

However, all additional Maxis files have already been made available here. :read:

That's Craig's site.  Craig-abvcs is a staff member at both simtropolis and simpeg.  I'm not sure you could find a less sketchy member of the community.  :p

I think he was talking about word press itself as a whole. Let's not forget that the Chinese also have it here.

I was in fact talking about it in a whole, I tested out the website earlier and found it was completely safe. It's just that not everybody trusts wordpress websites.

...and the Germans have it here. :)

Nevertheless, lots of content goes unnoticed by many (if not the majority of) users until it hits the STEX. Even though Maxis downloads aren't popular with many seasoned players, they do add value with minimal fuss giving them widespread appeal. I think this upload will contribute in a small but real way to the longevity of the game, and for that I am grateful.

In the words of the game Psychonauts. "Give this soldier a bunk." Except it isn't a bunk, it's a medal. :D

And by the way, I always expected SC4 living a long time, as even though the biggest issue with SimCity 5 was fixed, people are still complaining about the city size, possibility of making a whole entire region of apartments with no power and water, and most of all, how stupid the AI is. SC4 has none of those problems, which in itself is why almost everybody prefers SC4 and SC3000/2000 over the new SimCity.

While it's fresh, let's not forget the Grutze Collection (Grutzehaus, Grutze Industries, Temple of Grutze) and Ian's Stone House which I believe are also Maxis originals. They're packaged as separate .sc4lot, .sc4model, and .s4cdesc files instead of a single dat, but that's easy enough to fix using iLive's Files2Dat.

I know, I'll add Ian's house of wood and stone in the next update, then the grutzehaus and grutzeindustries and the temple of grutze in the update after Ian's house.

it's always good to have the maxis sc4 files around since ea all but abandoned them.

There are a lot of players who still want them.A few of the files are still needed aswell.

...and I didn't mean to dispute that. But likewise, many people may not be aware of other sites, and when one site has some hiccups, is unreachable, or somehow doesn't work for you, it can't hurt to know some alternatives. :) Who knows, once you're there, you may even stumble upon other stuff you would never have been aware of otherwise.

Hey. Nice dlc. But are there anyway that I can create jobs inside them?

I believe there is a file here on Simtropolis that has all the maxis landmarks with jobs, but its hard to find thanks to the terrible new search bar that was added while my laptop was sputtering about the floor, dying.
