About This File

This is a very simple re-lot of Maxis' Jefferson Memorial compatible with FA2 curved roads.

The Jefferson Memorial is a neoclassical monument in Washington, D.C., dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, the third U.S. president and principal author of the Declaration of Independence. Designed by John Russell Pope, the memorial features a circular, domed structure inspired by the Pantheon in Rome. It was built between 1939 and 1943 and sits on the Tidal Basin, offering picturesque views, especially during the cherry blossom season.

Inside, a 19-foot bronze statue of Jefferson stands surrounded by excerpts from his writings, emphasizing democracy, liberty, and human rights. The memorial serves as a tribute to Jefferson’s contributions to American independence, governance, and philosophy.

The Jefferson Memorial holds a commanding presence in the National Mall, positioned on the Tidal Basin, where it offers one of the most picturesque and serene views in Washington, D.C. Its neoclassical design, inspired by the Pantheon, aligns it architecturally with other iconic landmarks, such as the Lincoln Memorial and the U.S. Capitol.

Its prominence is further enhanced during the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival, when thousands of visitors flock to see the memorial framed by pink blossoms, making it one of the most photographed sites in the city. Though slightly removed from the central axis of the Mall, it serves as a symbolic and visual counterbalance to other monuments dedicated to democracy and leadership.

At night, its white marble dome is illuminated, reflecting in the Tidal Basin waters, reinforcing its majestic and timeless role in the landscape of the National Mall.
