SimPeg Agricultural Mod (SPAM) - Legacy version  2.0

About This File

The SimPeg Agricultural Mod (SPAM) is an absolute, total and complete replacement for the game-default farming system.

The default system was never really finished before game release and was, in fact, designed to be short-lived and used only initially in starter cities. The game, as it progresses, actually is designed to kill off all desire and usefulness for farming.

We changed all that.

Not only have we changed how all the farms look... but we also changed how they play.
Originally in a city, you could hug a tree... or kiss the sky with glass and steel. Now... you can do both.

At its most basic function and goal, the SPAM is an IND MTP Replacement Mod... similar to the RES and COM MTP replacement mods.

Its primary goal is to give an MTP-ish look and feel to the game's default farm lots.

Want to know more? Yeah of course... As a matter of fact, you NEED to know A LOT more - so before you install, we invite you to visit the Full ReadMe and learn more about these.

Finally farms have some use in my cities. On here each 2-4 things on farms (plants as some may say) have one job. I always use farms when I begin a city now.

I really to congratulate you and thank you for your beautiful work. It has made my game infinitely better.

While I'm here, does anyone have experience running this with RCIMulti?

I'm so glad this file exists, i love creating farm towns in SimCity4, even before i found this mod i did a lot of farm towns and eventuall linked them to big cities Via highways through empty city tiles.

Crop fields can cover a very big area and my question is:

Does building a farm on a large area limits your worker count?

Trough the quesion i mean :when building usual agriculture you get multiple buildings on an area ,each with their worker count but with a sigle crop field from your mod on the same area do i get about the same worker count?

I have a question. I have the Census Repository Mod and it says that I-R has a cap of 3000. What's the demand cap of stuff in this mod?

Hi @Faluto

In response to your question in your Review post, you can find the Access Roads here and the Irrigation Canals here. For other SPAM related items, you can use the Categories section on the ST Exchange homepage. Just scroll down to the SimPeg section.

@Minaazmi

The readme is in the SPAM_Documentation folder (PEGPROD/spam/Spam full mod/spam_documentation).

The install is copy/Extract the PEGPROD folder into your plugins.

I've always liked this mod and still do, but looking at it now there are a couple issues it has IMO. One is the corny, bitcrushed query sounds that IIRC occasionally play as ambient noise. Another is that you can't quite control what kind of crops are actually grown. I don't necessarily want absolute micromanaging over everything grows, but rather some way of controlling for climate. If you're playing in a region with a cool, temperate or even subboreal climate it is a little jarring to look at your farms and see them growing oranges, for example.

This is still a good mod, I just hope someone takes up the mantle of iterating on it since PEG obviously isn't around anymore.

I downloaded "PEG_SPAM_FULL-MOD.zip" version 1.0 in May 2023, and I downloaded version 2.0 today.

The two files were exactly the same.

Please upload the correct file again.

As mentioned in the ‘What’s New’ section, the only change was the file name. The contents are the same. My understanding is that altering the name and version number was done to distinguish this from the newer CAM version and to address how SC4pac handles file installation.

Thank you for your reply.

I have noticed that only the title with the version number was changed, while the file name remained the same.  This was quite confusing for me.
