This majestic modern building was built to house the Montauk Gas Company, a large oil and natural gas company in Montaukshire.  Unlike many petroleum-product companies, Montauk is a responsible corporate citizen, spending large sums of money keeping their facilities clean and environmentally-safe.  Rumour has it that they are currently investigating a gasoline additive that can reduce emissions by as much as 40%.

Lawyer: So, you werent price gouging? Then why did you have record profits fouth quarter? Montsuk ceo: we didnt, look at the cost reports (the ceo showed him a sheet of their porfits, they looked normal, what the lawyer didnt know was that all that "record profit" buit this) Real life application for a great building lol!

dussin - yes, they are the same thing. It's kind of common sense, if there's nothing else that's even similar on the STEX.

It's common sense if the goal is to confuse new or drunk players, who are probably reading a lot about missing files in the forums since the upgrade.

A responsible gas corporation spending large sums of money for the environment?!?! Now I know SimCity is unrealistic. But the building looks superbly real!
