Wow, been a while since I posted here. Obviously I couldn't not drop by after hearing the news about Simcity. Exciting to hear that a new Simcity is under way. It was only my biggest dream back in 2004-2005. Who would believe after all these years it is actually coming!

Hi Everyone, It has been quite a while since I last posted here. I check in every now and then to see what's new and plan to keep things that way. Today I dropped by to check out the new design and got sucked into the forums In any case, I thought I'd revise my older digital photography thread, as I see no other exists. I've always been into photography. However, over the last few months my passion for it has grown. I recently bought my first DSLR, a Canon T2i/550d with 18-55mm and 55-250mm lenses. Been playing a lot with it over the last month, getting to know the world of DSLR photography. It's amazing how much control you have over images. It's definitely a massive step up from P&S cameras. Below are some of the pictures I took. Hope you enjoy them How about you guys? Feel free to share moments you've captured over the years. Remember to keep images within the site limitations- 800x600 pixels.

That's weird, it works just fine with me. Can you tell me what happens when you try and access this link? If the omnibus article is indeed not working you can view all my videos direcly on blip.tv

I've actually created basic BAT / Gmax / 3ds Max video tutorials about a year ago. One set of videos (Gmax fundamentals) is available in the Omnibus at this link. The other video was never published at ST (although it still might) and it can be found here. The video teaches how to create a basic tower in any of the applications. Good luck!

Thanks Dirk! This reminds me so much of the Sporeum Mystery Tour

I knew the guy and I know his family pretty well, extremely tragic. I do not plan to get involved in this discussion due to the fact that as an Israeli citizen my opinion is pretty one sided. However, I will note that I just arrived back from a city down south by Gaza. What I experienced there today, with the sirens going off and having to escape with young children into a bomb shelter, is something the citizens have been going through for ages. The price may be high and definitely controversial, but this is our last resort at allowing our citizens to live a normal life without the fear of being hit by rockets.

A written tutorial has been released covering the user interface of Gmax/BAT. Read it here!

A new tutorial has been released, teaches users how to create a basic tower in either 3ds Max or Gmax/BAT. "Creating a Basic Tower"

SimFox- I wholly I agree with your statement here and on The 3d Resource. People can get confused or frustrated by watching videos without knowing exactly what the meaning of every step is. However, note that those videos are categorized as user created tutorial/modeling sessions. Obviously, narrated tutorials with explanations are superior to plain modeling videos. In order to encourage others to show and share their modeling methods without an immense amount of effort (and trust me, narrated video tutorials demand lots of time), the user videos section is open to narrated and non-narrated vids. I believe that watching people model is beneficial, both for the creator and the viewers as they can share tips with one another on the specific video. In the worst case scenerio, if a user does not understand part of the process he can seek assistance by commenting on the video or by PMing the creator. You suggested a prudent idea. It would indeed be beneficial to have a thread in which people can discuss what they are creating, and thus prevent members from working on a video which has already been uploaded. Users can state in their submission the contents of the video and what applications/versions they apply to.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your support. I would just like to announce here that anyone is welcome to upload a video sessions of his own to the site. It can simply consist of the user recording himself modeling. A narrative is not compulsory, so that creating videos is a breeze. On this page the recommended software is listed, for both recording and editing. Some addition tips and rules are stated as well. Enjoy!

Hey! It's been a long while since I last posted here. Even though I stopped releasing BATs to the STEX ages ago, I never lost my passion for 3d modeling. As a result I decided to open a website dedicated to 3d design. I'm happy to announce that The 3D Resource has officially opened! Most of you are probably wondering what this site is. Some of the newer members on ST might not even know who I am and why they should care about this site. So let me explain. Recently, I started playing around in the BAT trying to get to know the software a little deeper than previously. As a result, I decided to create several video tutorials, introducing new modelers to the BAT and to the general 3d world. One thing led to another and before I knew it I was creating a lot amount of content for a brand new site which I decided to open. That site is The 3D Resource. The site's primary goal is to help members, both new and advanced, learn how to create successful high quality models in the 3d application they are using. The site provides users with site created video tutorials and a section where any member can submit a simple tutorial either video or written of there own. So feel free to join the newly formed 3d community which is still growing and producing new highly useful quality content. The 3D Resource Superstar
