JP GC Osaka building The GC Corporation operates across the bulk of SE Asia and is a major manufacturer of dental equipment. For their Osaka office they commissioned a building by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban. The resulting building is a six storey office block of distinctive design. One of the defining features of the building is a large foliage covered frame which acts as a high performance flammable barrier in the case of fire. Located On the east side of Milwaukee, this is one of the few remaining ironclad buildings in the United States. It was designed by George H. Johnson and built between 1860 and 1861.
