  1. Can't find it?... Ask here!

Yeah, there are many water related structures missing: dams, flood barriers, sluice (stuff most people doesn't know exist ). It's difficult to bat them, because you need a good looking connection to the ground and water, the LOD has to fit the BAT very tight. That usually means the Lock, Dam or whatever fits only in a specific set up. A while ago a started a dam and I never finished it because it got to frustrating. It isn't even a complex one that looks somewhat realistic for its size. Sure a dam is particularly hard considering the curvature most dams have (but this one is missing) and their size (this one is maybe a mid-sized dam). And you can easily build a town without a lock but not without buildings and to get variety you need a lot of them. Regarding locks, I will definitely bat one soon (or not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). But I will do it for my need which probably means it doesn't fit to your specific situation (like a mentioned above the other problem).

So far the everything is plopped. I number the Lots to keep track of them and their placement.
  3. Show us What you're Working On

Still have a little bit of work to do :D

    Version 1.0

This is a set of 7 different cranes. They all come in an orthogonal and a diagonal version. PROPS ONLY
  5. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

First of all thanks to all users who reacted to my post in the Show Us What You're Working On Thread I will definitly release as many seperate props as possible. Maybe I do a few more props like a version of the main building with a different conveyor belt for the output. But I will definitly export the complete scene, except the walls. I seperated it in two different ways and both looked bad once combined. Currently I work on another material handler. A large metal recycling facility like this also needs some cranes.

Hey Fantozzi, your message was actually a great motivation boost. I'm right now exporting a bunch of cranes. Besides I'm currently working on a set of sheet piles.
  7. CT14's Railroad Lots and BAT

In my opinion the FAR version tiles though the orthogonal version looks fine. But it is anyways a great addition. We couldn't have enough diagonal buildings and/or industry.
  8. Thanks all of you, changing the LODs to a simplier geometry eventually made it.
  9. Hi, I'm making seawalls and they worked out quite well so far. But one piece makes problems. As you can see parts of the seawall aren't visible in the second picture. I guess it has to be something about the LODs. But I'm missing the technical understandig to figure it out by myself. So I hope somebody could help me. I include a picture of the LOD, maybe it helps.
  10. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

Thanks for your replies. Especially the advices @Jasoncw gave, were really helpful.
  11. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

Sciurus, DavidDHetzel thanks for your input I made some progress. I changed the textures of the main building and the walls, added modeled scrap to a few piles and I obviously made a groundplane I quite like the groundplane so far, though it seems like it could be a bit oversaturated. I didn't test it ingame yet. What do you think about it?
  12. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

@Krasner, @Sciurus Thanks for your Input. Doing some texture variations is definitly a good idea. @Jasoncw I didn't thought of doing the ground texture as part of of model. That will be really helpful due to my low experience in doing textures for the lot editor. Anyways, the ground of the scrap yard my model is based on, is, at least for me, surprisingly dirty. About the scrap piles, yesterday I saw some pictures of trash piles by Simmer where he did exactly what you mentioned. I instantly thought i should do something similar. @SC4L0ver For this scrapyard I don't plan magnets. I believe i mentioned I above, I will release the scrap yard as a monolith and as soon as possible. It just looks better and thanks to Jasoncw I can this way even bat the ground. But I will later release a pack with separate parts of this bat and some additions like the magnets SC4L0ver mentioned, one or two different colored handlers, various roller containers etc. If you have wishes, something you miss for your own scrap yard let me know.
  13. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

That's a great idea, the handler my model is based on, is actually light green. Because I doubt green (or a light blue) and the reddish color palette would look good, I tried yellow and white. Which color would you (all), for the scrap yard, prefer?
  14. Jakis'z BAT Thread

I like the new texture. But in my opinion the contrast between the roof and the wall around the roof is now too high. Maybe you could make the inside of the wall a bit more grungy.
  15. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

I'm glad you like it. That's how the scrap yard look right now.
  16. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

Thank you for your replies I've worked a bit on the handler I still don't like it too much but I guess it's okay now. And i started a set for creating workshops and office buildings in an industrial environment. Below you can see the first few parts (6 walls each of them is 8 meters width + a stair) which I already used for the scrap yard.
  17. Linus van Pelt's BAT Thread

I wish I work that fast but I started BATting the cranes last summer. Actually I came up with scrap yard because I needed something I could use the cranes for.
  18. Show us What you're Working On

@SC4L0ver Those Textures look great. It's always great to have matching textures to existing texture mods. You could even do a texture override for some of the existing BSC Textures.
