  1. Now solar plants are rendered useless. I don't think they thought this through very well. They need to add battery storage for night use and maybe raise operation costs. I always thought they were too cheap to begin with. Since they won't need fuel to operate, then they can reduce freight traffic. But as is, the solar plants are just decoration.
  2. Export of goods

First, cutting off trains does not stop import and exports. They will come by car and other sources. Second, specialized industry extracts natural resources very quickly. Then it starts importing raw materials. Third, generic industry will import processed products and not raw products. Fourth, First come, first served. everything takes the shortest route. Fifth, Vans deliver goods to commerce only. Sixth, Only generic Industry creates Goods that are sent to commerce to sell. Seventh, "Not enough goods to sell" is commerce not having enough goods to sell, because Generic Industry is not delivering on time or not producing enough.
  3. Cannot create more objects of this type

You can hopefully recovery your city by going to a previous save or quicksave or even a autosave if enabled. Otherwise I don't know how to unlock the error. It is now stuck. You'd think it would correct itself after bulldozing objects until you are once again under the limit and continue on. but you can't. You have a 32k limit on road segments. It covers sidewalks and bus stops that I know of. Maybe other mass-transit options as well. Buildings have the same limit that include zonable buildings. I know power lines count as buildings as well. So watch out for water and other building types. So watch out for zoned 1x1 to 3x4 buildings as they make you reach the limit early. Mods can affect the limits as well, so be careful of mods you choose. Since you are at 400k, I'm sure it is not a mod issue and you have just reached the limit naturally. The limits seem to be modded, but they interact with so many different things it would be a chore to keep updated. Hopefully they raise the limits a little with the, "After Dark" expansion. There's a mod call, "Show Limits" that shows where you are at. "CSL Stats Panel" has some info as well.
  4. Emergency Services

It sounds like you have too much traffic. You may need more roads or intersections for sims can take different routes. Try to get sims to walk to their destinations. I find mixing residential and commerce at a 3:1 ratio keeps them in walking distance by having each residential next to a Commerce. CRRRCRRRC RCRRRCRRR RRCRRRCRR RRRCRRRCR CRRRCRRRC As you can see residential is next to commerce at all times. This should alleviate traffic tremendously.
  5. All of my industry are only one block away from residential and they have no issue. the 4 tiles square of the zone, plus the 4 tiles squares of the 6-lane road are more than enough. I sometimes add trees in the empty lots if noise is too high, but that is very rare and only when traffic is insanely bad and lots of noisy plopables. Incinerators will need an extra 4 tile squares and they produce the most pollution. But like boformer stated, the challenge is the traffic, not the pollution. pollution isn't even a real threat in the game. I try to make big pockets of industry and make a highway to connect them to the middle of commerce, also same thing with specialized industry, I connect directly to generic industry with highways. This way they just hop from one zone to the other unimpeded.
  6. This is an extremely old thread. Back then you used to need a CC to have a university or it wouldn't advance to tech 3 with no CC. Maxis eliminated that requirement with CoT IIRC. But one university will provide all of your education and tech for up to approximately 500k pop. You just need to plop the university centrally and add classrooms in all directions (up to 3 city blocks)
  7. Advice Please.....

    1) 7 cities per mini-region. 2) only 7 cities will be connected together. 3 & 4) I don't play sandbox 5) Recycling Center's have been fix for a very long time. 6) You can only share with the 7 cities in your mini-region. Sharing is rlskey at best and not recommended. Maybe partial sharing at best. 7) Y can search thee st exchange here but there are modpacks with it combined.
  8. I don't really see anything wrong with this picture. Traffic has nowhere to go but right, but you want them in the left lane for some reason? try making more ways into the upper right section. You only have one way into it from this angle. Or move your road right a couple of blocks, so when it enters that area it will have a need to go left, right, or straight and your lanes should fill up more evenly. but it everyone is turning right, there is no need to use straight or left lanes. It you fill up the other lanes they just will all jam even worse trying to merge into the right lane at the last second and traffic will really jam up. @enchant, switching from 6 to 4 lanes will hinder traffic even more as they are slower roads. I use primarily all 6-lane roads. as your city grows the demands change constantly causing traffic jams all over the place. It's a little more expensive, but you don't need to upgrade roads constantly.
  9. "SimCity 5 not updated"

Sounds like it is getting blocked. Try disabling your anti-virus and firewall temporarily to see if t works.
  10. Do I Have A Virus Or Does ST Have New Ads?

That's very scary. By passing security can be hazardous. Yikes, not another one. Chrome will let you in if you read the messages on screen. I have a secondary computer just for these reasons and all seems fine, although this session lets me in no warnings.
  11. Looks like the Crown has been passed....

It really doesn't matter what he has, you have the problem and he may not have hit a trigger that caused it yet. When you figure it out you can pass it along to him. I just noticed you seem to be one of the posters in the other thread as well. I think it's unfair to say it's a, "bug in C:SL" and you not seemingly try to resolve the issue. So far all the bugs I've encountered so far have all been mod/asset related. I wish you luck in resolving it soon, so you can continue your game you no doubt spent many hours building.
  12. Looks like the Crown has been passed....

I helped a guy fix the 0/0 issue. It was just a asset/mod issue. Normally most all issues are mod/asset related. That's why devs can't replicate them. Anyway, here's the link to the thread if you wish to investigate your city further. https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/population-issues.851604/
  13. Should I buy Windows 10?

    1. & 2. I haven't ran it on win10 yet. 3. Is it a steam version? Have you tried registering the game on steam? Steam allows you to play it on both Windows and OSX, just not at the same time. If not, probably go with Steam for versatility. Unless Amazon sells a steam compatible version.
  14. eurobuildingsunlocker

this belongs in the modding forums under the mod post for this mod. Or wherever the author is hosting the mod.
  15. Damm, I can't buy it. Must be coming with the DX12 update, which makes sense as DX12 is suppose to have an improvement to this game to allow for the day/night cycles. Now, an ETA?
  16. I read that Microsoft announced it was ported to xbox one, but it also says in another thread that an expansion will be announced. Must be a Paradox/Colossal Order announcement later on.
  17. CPU chip

If you can, buy the biggest APU for that board. Or upgrade to 6 or 8 core processors which need a new board as well. That A4 is for tablets, if I recall correctly. Not really for gaming at all. But a 6-core AMD or better is recommended. Or if you go intel an i5 or i7 newer gen quad core. They do make an Athlon or similar for that APU board. It should do best of all the CPUs for that board. I think you have the first gen APU (Socket FM1) so you may be limited. The newer FM2 and FM2+ have the newer chips. I don't think they are backwards compatible.
  18. Worker Shortage?

Probably just different wealth class sims not working. The game typically only cares about low wealth sims and if they aren't all working it complains. Go to your population details panel by clicking your population numbers and make sure all low wealth jobs are taken. Zone more low wealth residential if not.
  19. I thought you wanted to do these things because of the water issue. I know there is a link somewhere on uninstalling completely everything. For the workshop, you'll need to only unsubscribe to mods and assets and delete your saved games from the content menu. For extra security you can delete the CO folders in appdata and program files (x86) in steam folder as stated above. but none of this will affect your water issue. This will only reset the game itself. But you will lose all of your saved games unless you backed them up manually. Also, you stated your problem still persists after doing the things I already mentioned, but you didn't say what the problem was if it wasn't the water issue.
  20. See your other thread. This thread doesn't apply to your issue.
  21. It's very possible it doesn't have a power connector. I was very surprised when I got mine and it wanted a power connector. I looked up the power requirements and it was listed as 60 watts, and motherboard standards require 75watt to the PCIe connector/ So I figured they added the 6-pin connector as they figure most people will try to over clock them. As for mods, I wouldn't recommend any. Mods just mask game play and teach you poor city design. Not to mention compatibility issues with updates let alone compatible with other mods. This game is still young and updates keep rolling out, albeit a little too slowly for my blood. I'm sure you'll be happy with your graphics card, Mine does well even at over 400k city. It gets laggy at times when the traffic gets heavy, but I think that is more the i3 dual core CPU I use.
  22. This sounds like a mod issue, not a game issue. Uninstall all of your mods and assets and it should go back to normal. Then add them back one at a time. All of your water intake pumps should be upstream anyway and should not be an issue. But I know, it would be nice if it worked properly. But some mods break saves and may be required like traffic ++. If you save your game with traffic++ installed, you will always need traffic++ enabled for it to load properly. Hopefully you have auto save on to go back to an old save or you manually save your game once in a while. but once it's in your save file, there is not much you can do about it. Check the modding forums for better help, maybe the author knows a workaround or something as this is a mod problem, not a game issue.
  23. Yikes! Maybe you should have posted here before purchase. You video card requires a special 6-pin PCI Express (PCIe) power connector to run the video card. It should come with an adapter, but it may be the wrong one. Usually you need a 4-pin molex connector, but they have been obsolete for a few years now and are rarely on newer power supplies. Can you post your power supply make and model number and your video card make and model number. I can check to see if it supports your system fully.
  24. Not sure what you want to do exactly or why. Maybe explain what you are trying to do before you lose everything or make things worse. If you want to remove mods/assets just go to the steam workshop from within steam and unsubscribe to all of them. You can remove the game by uninstalling it. make sure to remove Colossal order from your user folder/appdata/local (contains saved files so be careful.) remove Cities: Skylines from program files (x86) of your boot drive (usually C:) usually under steam/steamapps/common/cities_skylines You can even uninstall all of steam. remove all the steam folder from program files (x86) on your boot disk.
  25. Train clogging up is still there? :\

I have found the trains get bavked up from too much freight. To fix, disable all train stations, passenger and cargo. Then balance out your freight. Make sure to watch your imports and exports. Typically you don't want any, or very little exports at all. If you have are exporting goods(purple) you have too much generic industry and need to dezone some. If you are exporting oil, ore, agriculture, and/or forests, then you need to dezone specialized industry. Typically you don't want to be importing goods (purple) at all, if you are importing goods, then you need more generic industry. If you are importing a lot of oil, ore, agriculture, and/or forestry then you need to find more of that resource and build more specialized industry. Be careful building specialized industry, a little goes a long way. Once semi-balanced you can then turn on trains and all will be right in the world. If you want to specialize in an industrial city, make sure you have lots of rail connections so you segregate your railroads so all trains don't use only one rail connection. I have 4 outside rail connections and have my whole 25-tile map railroads into 4 separate rail lines to manage my freight. also use harbors to supplement freight traffic.
