Hi city builders! Well it's been about 15 years since my last city journal (SC4) so it's high time I started a new one. Relevant points: Inifinite money enabled 81 tiles enabled Graphics all on max (although researching mods to improve them even more, suggestions welcome!) Aiming to make the city unique, interesting and beautiful Mass Transit DLC just installed, looking forward to getting all of these methods of transport underway! Base map, 7th Island (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=421324015) As I always like to do, I get the infrastructure moderately completed before even thinking about laying down any zoning. Some initial stages can be seen below, with the island the highway ends on set to be the main industrial and port hub (subject to change, but I like to generally plan things out in advance). And the full highway system finish (but as always, and probably likely, more highways will be added in as required). The zoning will come after a lot of additional infrastructure has been completed, and when the zoning is complete I'll sit back and put the game on max speed and watch large areas shoot up and into existence (perhaps 10% of buildable area at a time). Eye candy... (note that the highways aren't quite perfect yet. They'll need to be smoothed out in areas so they don't look too lumpy, but overall they're fairly close to how I want them.) Suggestions always welcome! Cheers, Mark

Bats after dark? Am I going batsh*t crazy?
mutton noir posted a topic in Cities: Skylines General Discussion
Thought I was losing my mind, while playing the other night I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a bat flying past during the night phase of my game. The next time I logged n there they were! Bats flying around after dark, replacing the seagulls. I'd never noticed them before. I've never seen anyone mention bats on any forum post of in any info on the game from CO They show up in a custom map of Ayr in Scotland UK. Has anyone else noticed bats? When were they introduced? Are they "official" or modded? I'm not going crazy- I really should take a screen shot and post it. I sound like a raving lunatic! -
A developer by the name PropaneDragon just released a rush hour mod that actually aims at giving us the simulation that was advertised for After Dark where there is less traffic and activity at night. I tested this mod out and so far, I am seeing very good results. While riding on my innercity trains, I see platforms with less Cims late night and after sunrise, the platforms are jam packed like a real rush hour. Schools are also not seen with kids at 4am. I'm actually impressed by this mod and thought it needs more shine. Here's the Workshop link http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=605590542 Keep in mind that it's still Alpha as of this post.

Getting some weird illumination artifacts
ReticentDaikaiju posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
I've finally gotten around to just now updating my assets for the After Dark expansion, so if this has been covered in a previous thread I apologize. I'm getting some weird artifacts around the illuminated portions of my models when I try to import them. Here is a screenshot of the sign on my movie theater showing what I mean: And here are the diffusion, specular, and illumination maps I used for the model. Also, the windows should be illuminated as well, but they don't seem to be working either. Diffuse Specular Illumination -

Permission to update my assets for After Dark
ReticentDaikaiju posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Hey guys, it's been a while. I just wanted to give a big thank you to Shroomblaze for taking the time to update some of my assets for the After Dark expansion. Unfortunately I haven't had time for playing C:S recently and probably won't be able to update anything in my workshop for the foreseeable future, so if anyone wants to modify any of my shared assets I hereby give them permission to do so. If you do, send me a link to the updated model I'll include it in the description of the original model so people can find it.-

Hi, how do you use new AD bus station? I didn´t find it useful in any way, I still use classic bus stops and with bus line roads ...

As well as the high population density there are still occasional wide open spaces

Even if the open spaces are covered in highway, but don't tell the parks and recreation board.
