  1. Question about avenues

Welcome to Simtropolis Forum then..and take it easy, this is the right place to ask... Upgarding the roads to avenue or one-way road is my suggestion to deal with traffic. Do you have NAM installed??
  2. Are highways necessary?

No, no, you're missing the point here...NWM is actually not puzzle pieces, it's draggable. Yes, you can plop it directly to the roads or avenues, but that won't make these called puzzle pieces. You'll find puzzle pieces in trams or in double decker, but not NWM. Try to drag the NWM long enough and you wont have a problem with its shape when you buldoze the starter pieces. If you wanna put or connect connet different type of NWM altogether, then use the transitions pieces just right below the curves menu management. EDIT: RHW and SAM are also dragable not exactly puzzle pieces, (GLR also has one dragable pieces, but other than that they're all puzzle pieces)
  3. Are highways necessary?

From the pic i can see clearly your problem...and the answer is simple,...you just have to simply drag NWM starter pieces long enough to maintain its regular shape. Then you can easlily buldoze the starter pieces without worries. And also, that's why you need to buldoze one part of the starter pieces afterwards,...cause you can never drag it in any way.
  4. Residential demands below the belt...

With the NAM istalled, traffic problem should be easier solved. And not just "probably", but you "should" build a connections among your cities. A city without connection, is a city without future.
  5. Can't Find Dependencies?

No, this update has nothing to do with your Windows System. It's about the game and its originality. And your game seems to have a problem with the original SimCity.dat files.
  6. Can't Find Dependencies?

You have the exact same problem like mr.outlaw Sometimas it has to do with the originality of the game.
  7. Can't find it?... Ask here!

And what mod is that?? Water mod?? Terrain mod??
  8. Are highways necessary?

Hmmm...moose said that you need not to destroy the puzzle pieces, but i would opt to destroy it. I've seen videos from the NAM team, and they usually destroy the starter pieces afterwards. So, that's what i would do.
  9. Residential demands below the belt...

Aaa,..yeah...which is why i said "i could't agree more" before...it means i agree with your words, dude... But what exactly a mature city means here?? A city based on number of population with skycrapers and well-educated sims in it?? I don't think so...you can still build your city and get matured with only tiny population and without education at all,...you might say this is unrealistic, but in SC, it does happen, cause you can create your city in your own way. I once built an I-D city in my region, with not more than 15k resident. it's in a small size map, actually. That way, you must keep education well controlled or no education at all. It was a well-structured Industrial City. Well balance funding, crime in a good shape, mayor rating good, water, power, roads connection, and all other aspects were well-controlled, minus education, of course....and all i can say is, that was a very mature city.... In my opinion a mature city is not always about the amount of population, how many schools, or skycrapers you have in one city...a mature city, is also a well-structured city. You can have huge population and schools in your city, but once you ignored the structure, you'll never reach maturity.
  10. Residential demands below the belt...

    1. It means you zone the residential more than your city needs. To balance this, simply zone more Industrial or Commercial, and dont zone reclessly..note that you must always check to the demand graph before zoning and see what type of development needed. And when i say check, i mean click it, not just see at your UI. You'll see each type of development graph when you click it. 2. I couldn't agree more of mr.jason words about not letting I-D grow in the new city. However, when your city's education is already high enough, then it wouldn't be a big problem. A well-educated sims will prefer to work in I-M or even I-HT or CS and CO.
  11. Working at neighbor city

You have a long way to go. Read all the tutorials you could find here or in the other website. You'll have your glowing cities soon after you learn the art of developing in SC4. Greetings from Simtropolis Forum.
  12. Working at neighbor city

    >>>Check your taxation to control your profit in your industrial town. Roads, mass transits, power plant and water pump will all absorb your cash each months for treatment reason. Make sure you check their funding. You can always control the funding to suit the exact need of your town. i mean, why give them thousands simeleon when they only ask 100...?? I hope you know what i mean. Edit: Please...not the DLL Cheat again, mr.Jason...that is not the best option here...you can still save your town by controlling the funding. >>>For Mac version, you must install it manually. Please read the readme, that is your only guide.
  13. Working at neighbor city

Have you check the link i posted before?? That is one important tutorial for developing city. I suggest you to install the NAM, that will help you a lot concerning your traffic and your commuters. I'm sorry i cannot explain further about this mod for i'm not from the NAM team myself. That explanation belongs respectively to the member of the NAM team. You can ask them about it on their thread located here (registration required if you wanna post comment or questions) But i can provide you to the correct download link, as you couldn't find it here on STEX for some technical issues: Network Addon Mod MacOs Version You'll find a readme file when you finished downloading. That should guide you through installation.
  14. Why should the person above you be banned?

Banned for arguing the citizen's arrest
  15. We, can only suggest here,...for we're not the creator itself... Check the link that Ihrob gave you before....if that doesn't help you, then my other suggestion is to PM the creator which is Blunder himself. You'll get more comprehensive explanation from him. EDIT: Nice to hear that you solved the problem....have a good game to you then..
  16. Have you read this before downloading, sir..?? Known Issues: 1. CTD- any flora from an old tree controller must be removed before the old tree controller file is deleted from your Plugins or a crash will occur. A lesser known issue is that if the file with the old MMP brush is gone but the model file still exists in the plugins, the tree will still show up and the game will be playable. However if that tree gets destroyed (either by bulldozing or by changing the elevation of the terrain underneath it) this will also cause a crash. This tree controler by Blunder is for advance user, if this is the first time you use tree controller, may i suggest you to use another tree controler that will be easier use like
  17. Why should the person above you be banned?

Banned for wearing one hat over two balds.
  18. SimCity freezes with plugins

You don't have to do anything but put those dat.files in your plugins. It's a general dependency of buildings props in SimCity 4. Have you ever seen Some kind like a Brown Box appeared instead of building within your city, sir..?? If you have, then the absence of bldgprop.dat files is mostly the cause. Though, not all buildings need these...
  19. Why should the person above you be banned?

Lol... Banned for saying funny truth...
  20. Holly mother plugins...!!! You got yourself STEX, PLEX, LEX Collections entirely there, huh..?? Have you seen smoke yet, sir..?? lol Oh, well, that's not my bussines either... How was it..?? Great huh,..?? It really shorten your loading time right??
  21. Working at neighbor city

Why is R$$$ considered a big trouble when dominating city, mr.Jason? You got something againts R$$$?? No, just kidding...lol...ignore that...i'm in the high mood of joshing, that's all... Well,..ahemm..If i can put it in the simplest words, it goes like this....Sims or your Resident will always choose the nearest workplace. No matter how many mass transits or road connections you provide. They will often choose the shortest or the fastest way to get to the workplace. Too simple?? well, i'm trying to give you explanation that wont make you go "yawn" but if you insist,....which i'm not sure,....check this link if you don't mind>>>https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=12096.120 Pay attention to the Reply #128. Hope it'll broaden your knowledge about Sims and Commuting time,.. Note: before someone complain about my simple explanation above, that is based on Mr.Smileymk's Realistic Cities For Dummies thread on SC4Devotion (the link i posted above). All blame should go to him, if you found it unreasonable....lol...josh again.. Cheers...
  22. Why should the person above you be banned?

Banned for saying things out of the line.
  23. Are highways necessary?

The simplest answer i could think is..... If Highways were not necessary, then the NAM team wouldn't even bother to make one in the first place. lol Oh, and by the way,..i'm so looking forward to the new NAM release...i saw the secret weapon like weeks ago, and that made me so excited... All the best for the NAM team.
