  1. I-6 to Redwood

DUN DUN DUN DUN..... I am happy to announce that as of now this CJ is more than just a city! It has been expanded into a whole freaking state. I decided to name the state "New Cholula" after the pyramid of Cholula in Puebla, Mexico, which is derived from an ancient Nahuatl name. I'll add the state info to the very first update. For now: State Motto: "A condor in the hand is worth more than almost anything" State Capital: Redwood Largest City: San Lorenzo State Song: "Oh Lovely Little Cholula" State Bird: California "Freedom" Condor** State Tree: Coast Redwood **New Cholula has had a lengthy history of anti-California paranoia. The use of "Freedom Condor" instead of "California Condor" was first started in the early 1900s when state government accused California of influencing on their state. In 1909, all references to California were replaced with different words. I-6 is the main freeway between San Lorenzo and Redwood on Stratford Island, one of a couple islands in the state of New Cholula. There are several small towns along the freeway, I'll show some pictures of them. The region isn't entirely finished, but then again my regions are usually never finished What can I say... I like there to always be some free space to build! Starting off in the suburbs of San Lorenzo, this highway is known as the "Lorenzo Loop" because it goes in a complete circle. The highway that splits from it then turns into a freeway, I-6. Merlinville is one of the first small towns along the interstate freeway. Peregrine Creek is more industrial, and has a big freightyard. Unfortunately the town has fallen under hard times during the Recession. Peregrine Creek's "twin town", Fruit Valley, is much more recreational. It is home to the Falcon County Fair, in which people from all over Falcon County gather to have fun. Heading farther east and up the hills, we get to a drier terrain than in the west. This is Drywater here, which was built in 1885 as a mining town. It has since grown into a larger town, and even has its own Walmart! No interstate is complete without a tacky tourist trap, and the Lil' Gunslinger Shopping Center fulfills that duty. Once an abandoned mining town with only a small little community living there, the whole town was renovated and turned into a big shopping center, with many familiar chain stores. That's all for this update, next update will be about the state capital, Redwood. This update was brought to you by...

  5. Balejado, city of the Riviera

Evillions: Thanks! I'm glad I can help! Mikeaut1: Thanks!! TowerDude: lol, I'll see if I can work something out with the travel agency. hijodecordoba: Thanks, if you're referring to the 'poorer' neighborhood area, I think the power pole is from one of the lots. Also, city only has a little more than 10,000 inhabitants on a big city tile... most of my regions are made up of big city tiles. However, this specific city tile still has some space to be developed!
  6. St. Cuthbert, the capital city

St. Cuthbert is the capital city of Crowsley. Since the island is a British Crown dependency, the country is officially headed by the Queen of England. Regardless, Crowsley retains its own cultural identity. Some village names are often a combination of English and French, while others are names of Christian saints. The region is still under construction, so I blackened out some of the incomplete area. St. Cuthbert is also the largest city on the island, with Axelby being the second largest. The two cities are connected by a freeway system that was built in the late '70s to help connect both cities. Inbetween the two cities is the Crowsley International Airport, which recently began non-stop flights to and from several North American hubs. Anyways, let's commence the city tour! We'll mostly just look at the more iconic, historic landmarks. And finally, an Aerial pic of the old center of Cuthbert: Thanks for reading! Tell me what you think, or if anything seems wonky. Next update I'll show the CBD.

  12. Show us your Region!

Here's a couple of my regions I'm working on. I usually make small regions... I dunno why, I guess I just like dense, small cities. Also, most of my regions are on islands. The first region is English Channel Island inspired, the second one is a Mediterranean Spanish one.

  16. St. Cuthbert, the capital city

Thanks everyone! I think from now on I'll mostly put information text outside of the pic. It's easier that way, because if I make a typo on one of the pictures, I have to go and do everything all over again.
  17. Republic of Karasem V2.1

Nice job! I like the lotting on the slums.
  18. Old Intro

Welcome to my new CJ! I've been working on this region for a bit now. It's an island located in the English Channel. Crowsley French: Corbeau Crowish: Crowslé Capital: St. Cuthbert Official Language(s): English, French, Crowish Government: British Crown Dependency Head of State: Queen Elizabeth II First Minister: George Yardswick Currency: British Pound Main Industries: Tourism, Commerce, Banking, Agriculture, Manufacturing DEMOGRAPHICS: Religious Affiliation: Church of England/Anglican (60%), Catholic (30%), Muslim (1.5%), Hindu (<0.1%), Agnostic/Atheist (9%) Note: The majority of people who identify themselves as “Anglican” and “Catholic” do not regularly attend church, but only on special occasions. Muslims, Hindus, and people of alternate Christian denominations attend houses of worship more frequently. Ethnicity: White/European (91%), Black or African (3%), South Asian (4%), Other (2%) Language: English (98%), Crowish (5%), French (6%) Note: Some people are bilingual in either both English and French, or English and Crowish. Etymology: The name Crowsley comes from the latin word "Corvus", which was given to the island by the Romans due to the large populations of ravens & crows. The crow has been a symbol for the island ever since, due to it's noticeable intelligence and mischievous demeanor. The term "Crow" refers to people from Crowsley, but it is also used sometimes in a pejorative manner, mostly by people from the main island of Britian. Ex: "You bloody Crow!!" Below: The parliamentary building in St. Cuthbert. I'll have more pics in the next update.
  19. Shì Yan - SYRT-Cycle line

Excellent use of railroads & trees! I love it!
  20. New CJ?

Thanks Mikeaut1! I like fresh starts as well! hijodecordoba: Don't worry! I try not to abandon my other cities. I just like to build different styles. I'll definitely incorporate San Pedro into 'Crosley'... maybe even recreate a Gibraltar-ish thingamajig in San Pedro? Who knows.
  21. New CJ?

Okay, so here's my idea for either a new CJ, or a new region to add to this CJ. Crosley is an island in the English channel, located west of Guernsey and Jersey. It is similar to San Pedro in being in a chain of islands, but is different in that Crosley is a British crown dependency, whereas San Pedro is an independent country. Below is a picture of a suburb near the capital city. Obviously the whole region won't be about small towns and suburbs, but I don't wanna spoil the urban city. What do you think?
  22. 1989-1991
