  7. Well, I'm trying everything I can and SC4 just quits instantly. Did you try opening Graphics Rules.sgr with Administration Permissions on Notepad (I highly suggest Notepad++. Download here: https://notepad-plus-plus.org/ )? Edit that file and make sure to include your appropriate Graphics Card String. Do the same with Video Cards.sgr and input correct the video card ID.     I know this sounds insensitive but this is what will happen next: Person 1: Gun control... blah blah blah.... Mental health funding... blah blah blah ... background checks... take action before more innocent people die... etc. Person 2: Don't take away our right to own weapons/US 2nd Amendment...blah blah... National Rifle Association... blah blah... American Freedom... blah blah... The United States government takes no action after more debates. Then the issue dies down. Then a few months later, the same thing happens all over again.   16. I dislike the idea of updates being shoved down my throat without my consent. I will run Windows 7 indefinitely unless there is some compelling reason to upgrade.
  17. Thanks. That is exactly why I created this add-on. I supported a compromise between the two. Hopefully, more people see this thread. It is neither a true circle nor a true square. Wikipedia calls it a "squircle" and discusses the mathematics here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squircle#Equation. I used the word "modern" quite loosely. Modern in the sense that many developers are moving to "softer edges and curves as part of the aesthetic of the site. Simtropolis is powered by Invision which seems to be enforcing the new look. Blame the rise in popularity of certain social media sites among the youth (Instagram in particular).

  22. As an alternate suggestion, we can compromise considering how decisive this issue is for many people. Simtropolis is powered by Invision which supports this. Furthermore, as an extra suggestion to the above the grey avatar borders could be removed, on the edges so that the avatars blend in. Thus there is no discrimination between shapes. Die-hard roundheads should have no problem with this since the area of a square greatly exceeds that of a circle. It's a solution where everyone wins.

  24. Oh deer. The antlers of Honda Tadakatsu, the Samurai of Samurais, have been completely cropped as well. Come on Square Army!
  25. Why not simply remove the ugly grey frame borders on the avatars? Let the default crop be that of a rounded rectangle/square or polygon as shown here. Whatever shape your avatar is will not matter as it will simply 'gel' with the background without those grey borders. If yours happens to be round already then you will not run into any problems here. You could even have a triangular avatar if you wish:
