  1. What a thread, this guy.... if it's not already, this stuff should be your job. Consistently hitting it out the park, great work, many thanks
  2. In the map editor, I would really like the option to select which info view is active when using the terrain tools. I'm tuning a small river at the moment and I'm having to constantly switch between the topographic view and terrain tools. Alternatively, let me map the infoviews to keyboard shortcuts? I'm all about the keyboard shortcuts
  3. Excellent, good work, I'll give it another go tonight.
  4. Really like these maps, thanks for sharing. Are the roads the wrong way round on the English country side map? I selected left hand drive like I normally do, but the pre-built roads were right hand drive. If I select right hand drive they are left hand drive like I want, but the rest of the roads I build will be wrong....
  5. MGB - Zebra Crossings

    Really nice, many thanks!
  6. I can't get DAMN mod to work

Not as far as I know, the one I followed is on SImPeg - http://www.simpeg.com/forum/index.php?action=articles;cat=7
  7. I can't get DAMN mod to work

It's a good principle I only found SSPTool and DAMN tricky when learning them, once you know how it works it's a piece of cake. Easier than that iLive Reader thingy, that's a tricky tool if ever I saw one. What do people use for menu organisation then? Is there another (better) way?
  8. I can't get DAMN mod to work

That's a shame, if you use the SSPTool to add stuff to your DAMN menu there is an option to hide it from the original menus. It is a bit tricky to set up at first, but well worth the hassle once you work it out, you seemed to be so close
  9. Looking for citybuilding fans who can code!

Same, minus the C++, I've looked at it, but not seriously.
  10. Introduce Yourself Here!

Hi, I'm Dave, from Birmingham, UK, I've been lurking here for a couple of weeks now, reading everything I can find and learning loads I played the original Sim City on my Atari ST (giving away my age), then 2000 and 3000 on my first PC. I got quite into 3000, made a few BATs, how primitive that was compared to gmax! I recognise a few names around here from those days, it's slowly bringing back some memories... After looking forward to SC4 for so long I was massively disapointed when it came out, it just seemed like it was moving towards a 'Sims' style game, which I'm not really interested in. I want to build cities! Looking at SC4 now I think I didn't give it enough of a chance, I don't remember being able to place individual zones back then. The drag-an-area-and-it-fills-in-the-roads-for-you thing really put me of, for good I thought... Fast forward 8 years and I stumbled upon Cities XL, which went like this... this looks good, I'll give it a go. I quite like it! Wonder if there are any mods for it....(searches google)... Some nice mods here, but what's this? SC4? Wonder why that is still so active after all these years, lets have a look. What the....(jaw hits floor) I am in awe at what has gone on in this community, it's simply staggering. I won't go on about it because I'll run out of superlatives, but wow, just wow. CXL is on the back burner and I'm almost regretting buying it, I need to get in on the SC4 action! So I'm late, by several years, and I feel like you guys have been having all the fun without me So far I havn't actually built a decent size city, I've just been reading and learning and installing. I've installed all sorts of buildings, mods and tools, I've rendered a map downloaded from the STEX, I've set up DAMN with a bunch of menus and I've built a basic model in gmax and got it into the game, but I still havn't actually built a city lol Anyways, enough rambling, I'll finish with a massive thank you to everyone who has contributed to this community. The mods, the tools, the tutorials, the CJs, SC4 is virtually a completely different game now, it is amazing!
