Singapore's society is known for being efficient, modern and clean. It is one of the wealthiest countries in the world and is a major financial, transportation and technology hub.     Johor Bahru is coming either next week or the week after as part of a map that includes Singapore and parts of Batam and Pemping Islands in Indonesia. That is quite the list. I will look through it and take it into consideration. I can say for certain, however, that Havana, Kingston and San Juan metro are all on my current to-do list.

Located at the confluence of the famous Yangtze River and the Han River in Hubei province, Wuhan is home to approximately 12.3 million people. The area was first settled some 3,500 years ago. Today, it is a major manufacturing and high-tech industrial hub. The map is 24 x 24 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. The map encompasses the entirety of Wuhan, including the areas many lakes, as well as the city of Huanggang (黄冈) to the east.     Intriguing as it is, I’m planning to stick to Earth for now. I’ve just got too many maps here on this blue rock that I want to complete before I blast off into outer space. And anyway the last time I looked for some Mars data, some mean dudes in suits showed up at my front door. I dont remember what happened after that, only that I really have no desire to look for outer planetary data. Likewise, I’m not planning on venturing into the “modified scale” world, at least not on a regular basis. I like my maps real world accurately scaled to game, so a map that size wont work due to size. I had a hard time pushing the limits of Long Island, NY so no way the entire Florida coast would work as a single region at the scale I want. I could split them into several regions that would take off where the previous left off. I did this with another yet to be released region and drunkapple did this for his Los Angeles maps. That approach would be a maybe depending on time and other priorities that I want to release first. I do have some Florida maps in the queue and theres a good chance at least one or two of those will come before the new year.

    If you've got SC4 Mapper, you can do this on your end with any of my maps. Just open the SC4M by going to "Create Region", choose "SC4M". Once it loads, go to "Export Region" and then choose .png or .bmp as your output file type and save to whichever directory you want.

    Another week, another map, this time it's Beijing, China (中国北京) (for SimCity 4). Beijing ("Northern Capital" in Chinese) is the capital of the People's Republic of China and the second largest city in China. It is the most populous national capital in the world, with a population of 22 million people. Historically, it served as a capital of both the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is home to some of China's most popular historical sites, including the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall of China. Today, it is a modern metropolis and a government, cultural and financial center and a major transportation hub. The map is 28 x 28 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. It has been compressed so that real world elevations of 48 meters equals to 15 meters in game. This was done so that most of the areas lakes, rivers and creeks could be filled with game water. The map encompasses the entirety of Beijing, including sections of the Great Wall of China adjacent to the city and the city of Langfang (廊坊) to the south.     It happens every now and then for me, I’d guess 2-3 times/week and I probably login to Simtropolis maybe 5 or 6 times a day. Ofc this is all guess work on my part as I havent really kept track - but will do so moving fwd and get back with some data points. FWIW, I’m in the Bay Area, California.

    The irony. To clarify, the map of Austin that I showed previously in this thread wasn’t rotated at all. Its Austin as its naturally aligned on a real world map. I didn’t “rotate it for the airport”, I kept it as is, it just happens that Bergstroms runways align mostly nice and neat in a north south direction and for Austin thats pretty much all that aligns thus leading to my comment to @Odainsaker which was done so in jest. Some folks who know me here also know I am a big aviation enthusaist so theres that aspect as well. As such rest assured no ones sacrificing “Manhattan for La Guardia” (but I did sacrifice Long Island). Anyway, appreciate the feedback and will look into rotating the Austin map for better alignment with the street grid. I think it makes reasonable sense. I’m also going to look into Atlantic City. I did not realize that there aren’t any rotated maps of it out there. Not one i was planning to make but its possible now that you brought it up.
