Another week, another map, this time it's Beijing, China (中国北京) (for SimCity 4). Beijing ("Northern Capital" in Chinese) is the capital of the People's Republic of China and the second largest city in China. It is the most populous national capital in the world, with a population of 22 million people. Historically, it served as a capital of both the Ming and Qing dynasties. It is home to some of China's most popular historical sites, including the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, the Summer Palace and the Great Wall of China. Today, it is a modern metropolis and a government, cultural and financial center and a major transportation hub.
The map is 28 x 28 large city tiles and is accurately scaled based on DEM data. It has been compressed so that real world elevations of 48 meters equals to 15 meters in game. This was done so that most of the areas lakes, rivers and creeks could be filled with game water. The map encompasses the entirety of Beijing, including sections of the Great Wall of China adjacent to the city and the city of Langfang (廊坊) to the south.
In order to install the map you will need wouanagaine's mapper or terraformer as the file is in SC4M format.
