  1. HK Medium Res Tower Pack 1

They look really nice, but I'll hold off on downloading them until the second pack comes out--I really don't want hundreds of them cropping up in my city, which is more than possible because I have lots of 2x2 spaces open or developed with only light residential.
  2. Stoplight Request

Date: 8/14/2005 1:15:02 PM Author: ryanb_sc4 RedImperator - I've been campaigning ( silently ) for a few months now to find someone who can change the appearance of the traffic signals. I've been looking to change the signals from this California style to a Texas style, which is: Horizontally mounted signals on either a mast arm or a span wire assembly. This would be sweet if it could be done.quote> There are some horizontal signals in New Jersey, too, largely in the cities. Camden and its inner ring suburbs use 8 or 12 inch signal heads mounted in a trombone mast-arm, with no backplates. I'm torn as to whether or not I'd want them. On the one hand, they'd add a distinct East Coast flavor to my cities. On the other hand, around here, sideways stoplights are associated with cheap, run-down areas (like Camden and its inner ring suburbs), and I don't know if I could get over that association. It would also be nifty if we could have a pair of old-fashioned four-way signals hung from a diagonal span wire, for those intersections in our tiny one-stoplight towns, but it's probably asking for too much for customizable intersections--if it's possible to change the lights at all, it's probably only going to be through a mod that changes all the lights. Really, I'd be happy if they could just change the stoplights to yellow, since nobody on the East Coast except Washington DC uses gray/black ones.
  3. Stoplight Request

Just out of curiousity, would it be possible to change the appearance of the stoplights themselves? Say, instead of dark gray lights with wide backplates mounted on mastarms (California style, the SC4 default), you could have green signals with no backplates hung from span wire (any number of states), or yellow signals without backplates hung from cantalevered mast arms (New Jersey style) or mounted trombone style on all four corners (New York City, Philadelphia, probably other big East Coast cities).
  4. Introduce Yourself Here!

I'm Matt, I'm from South Jersey, and I'm a grad student in education at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. This fall, I'll be a student teacher at Overbook High School, also in Philadelphia.
  5. Sunken Higway eye candy Set

These are fantastic. I was going to bury most of my highway network, but now it looks like "cost overruns" might leave longer sections cut but uncovered just so I can look at these. Agree on the need for diagonals and corners. That will make these perfect.
  6. NDEX PanPacific Building by DuskTrooper

I want to plop this. But I don't want to cause a commerical real-estate crash. Gonna have to grow the city somewhat before I can use this. Great building, though.
  7. NDEX Thaneplace Lofts by DuskTrooper

These will work great at dorms for the university.
  8. the zeller building

A neat medium-sized generic skyscraper. And only 4x2, without a bunch of space-wasting frou-frou at the bottom. This will make a fine addition to my city's skyline. Many thanks, we need more of these on here.
  9. No Palm Mods

I always thought the palm plazas looked terrible, even if I didn't mind palms so much everywhere else. I'm just starting a new region with almost no $$$ development so far. Going to install this bad boy right now.
  10. NAM Elevated Rail Station

Without this, I wouldn't be able to take full advantage of the NAM. I can't say I care for the look too much, but I can write it off by saying they hired some avante garde architects in the 70's to remodel the el stations. Good work.
  11. Yuengling Brewery

Without Yuengling, my world would be a less happy place. This will look superb in my city, along with about half your other lots.
  12. Buffalo City Hall Buffalo NY

This is absolutely first rate work, which is no surprise coming from the Buffalo team. I wish there was a community of BATers doing the same for Philadelphia; alas, I lack the talent to start such a project myself.
  13. ULMcDonalds

The only other McDonalds that I'm aware of on the STEX is the old school 60's hamburger stand style building. There are very few of those left in the real world (there's a georgous one on the Black Horse Pike in Mt. Ephraim, NJ).
  14. DuskTroopers SKYCHASE Bank Plaza

"if you want more CO$$ then why dont you change it in plugin manager or something?" Well there's a thought, huh? Don't I look like a tool.
  15. DuskTroopers SKYCHASE Bank Plaza

Dusk, you make beautiful buildings, and you've basically designed my entire downtown. But they're all C$$$, and now my high wealth commerical office demand has crashed--I can keep the ones I have but I can't support any more. Any chance we'll see some C$$ towers? I need lots of those.
  16. Wegmans Grocery Store

$11/hr is decent money for a register monkey, but it's not what anyone would call wealthy. When I think C$$$, I'm thinking high powered lawyers and executives. Even the manager doesn't make that kind of cash. Gorgeous model, though--complaining about the jobs is just nitpicking on my part.
  17. HSBC Arena Buffalo NY

I like it. One suggestion, though: why not make a parks and recreation version, like the existing major and minor league stadiums, to go along with the commerical and landmark versions?
  18. Buffalo City Court

I've seen this building. Eyesore doesn't even begin to describe it, especially when you compare it to some of the really nice architecture Buffalo has. Geebus, was EVERYTHING ugly in the 70s? Nice job on the model, btw.
  19. One Liberty Place

I love this building and I'm glad somebody made it. It does look squashed in the image here, but the real one can look like that too, depending on the angle. The only thing I'd like to see are more night lights--the building is usually pretty well lit up until after midnight.
