1. Grover Ridge [Update]

I've glanced through most of your city journal and outlined a few things that may help give it that extra kick. 1)  Mitigate density sprawl!  Instead of just zoning high density everywhere think about what is downtown vs. what is suburb and zone accordingly.  Emphasis the transition from one density to the next by regulating building heights and types. 2)  When laying out transportation routes don't just think of them as rudimentary elements that end at city borders.  Roads, Avenues, Trains, and Highways are like sentences - their subject is their point of origin and their verb is their route of travel.  For example, Emerald Bay Blvd. serves as a main thoroughfare to move wealthy sims from the plush inland mansions of Emerald Bay, along the hi-rise packed coastline, straight into the heart of downtown without getting on a freeway or changing roads. 3)   Sell your reader an experience!  Instead of saying Grover Ridge's main purpose is to make computer chips, assemble a series of images of industries and businesses unique to that city that are vital in the production of computer chips.  Perhaps there is a back story about the manager's commute, an explosion, or a strike that plays into the imagery you're creating with your selected images.   4)  Observe other city journals and see how they tackle similar issues or note things that inspire you!  The same can be done in some of the forums like "Show us your airports."  Observe how they assemble their airports and how can it be done better or better accommodate the parameters in which you need it to function. 5)  Let your imagination run wild and dare to dream!  I also advice holding your comments until your next update that way you can most effectively respond to everyone's comments.  Lastly, I don't have my own City Journal nor have I ever written one; however, I am a seasoned lurker and know what it takes to create an enduring journal.  Hope all of this helps a little!
2. Update 85 | Das'gotn International Airport | T2 to Takeoff!

I love those terminals (I am a terminal junkie!).  Are they on the STEX or LEX?
3. Forgive me Father, For I am sin....

Reading this with the music playing and taking in the graphical precision of the photos gives me goose bumps!  While the idea of something this devastating is surreal the reality of it is undeniable.
4. nybt NYBT HBS The New York Times Building
Really awesome, thank you for this beauty. I've got a problem though, I chose the ploppable with jobs and it appears without icon in my menu. Is there anything I might have missed? Since nobody mentioned it earlier it seems to be a problem on my side.
Requested: I have the same problem and was wondering the same thing. I think whatever I'm missing is causing problems with some other NYBT buildings I have as well.
5. Urban Art

I've been looking at this CJ for quite some time; however, I can't figure out how you get nothing but custom content to grow in your cities. Aside from that your entries never cease to amaze me! 5 out of 5!
6. NYBT Tishman Building

I wish it was growable, but it's lovely none the less.
7. Episode 18: Hospital action

How do you make the streets go away when you're zoning?
8. Episode 14: Skipping one

If you want your zones to face a tram-in-road, on-road, in-street, or in-avenue you must first lay the corresponding underlying network (street, road, or avenue). After which plop your tram pieces on top of the relevant network. This way when you zone, the zones will recognize the underlying network and orient to it. On a side note: when you plop your puzzle pieces you will have to demolish any intersections along the route and replace them with the appropriate puzzle piece. Hope this makes sense and helps a little!
9. motokloss MS PKP Warsaw Station Halt (Warszawa Powisle)

It's great, but I'm a little confused! Can trains pass through the station or is this a terminal?
10. Coastal Living

That gravel beach looks amazing! Did you do all that by hand or do you have a beach mod?
11. Scene of Suburban Dillenburg

The way that avenue moves through the landscape and other infrastructure is evocative!
12. Special Announcement + Replies

You could name it Phoenix. It refers to a mythical bird that represents rebirth by fire. It seemed appropriate given the circumstances of past entries. If that's too cheesy you could name it Milford in honor of the mill.
13. Carbon Vista

For a second I actually wondered why you opted to zone the river front homes against the hillside as opposed to the river. Then it dawned on me that you must have been avoiding the flood plain. Wait!...there aren't any flood plains in simcity. Clearly, work is interfering with my ability to enjoy the game I love!
14. A small glimpse!

If you could hear the noise I made when I saw the teaser pic you would understand my enthusiasm!...10!
15. RHW Slope Mod

I finally had a chance to try out the new slope mod and it's wonderful. I am a big fan of the bones slope mod, but it doesn't have a slope for RHW. I tried other slope mods but never really found one I liked. Now with this slope mod I can have my cake and eat it too. Thanks a million!....10!
16. Broker and Acter in video

That was absolutely amazing! The picture quality was suburb and the music even better. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for something to happen.
17. 2-5 Goshen

I am still amazed at the quality of your map! I wouldn't mind seeing a tutorial on how you create them in the future.
18. LaGrange - the region hub Airport

The first photo is amazing!
19. Pefka

Great update! I like the last photo with the overpass, but it feels like some type of flora is missing. It is still great nonetheless...far superior to what I can do!
20. Winter Months

I like that map!
21. My Introduction to the Simcity World

Great start! Looks like you have a good handle on downloading custom content and the readme/dependencies associated with them. I've been on here since 2003 and still haven't mustered up the courage to post a CJ. I find it inspiring that new comers are still willing to show others what they do. In turn, a small percentage of that courage inspires me. Keep them coming!
22. Update 10 - How a City Is Born Part II

+1 For making me hurl when I saw the McCaviar! That isn't real, is it?
23. Transit Seminar This Saturday!

Where can I view the recording of this seminar?
24. Diagonal Bridge Enabler DLL Toggler (READ INSTRUCTIONS!)

Th
Ecliptical: The DAT files for the DBE should be in "SimCity 4\Plugins\~Diagonal Bridge Enabler (Temporary Files)." Putting it into "SimCity 4\Plugins\~Diagonal Bridge Enabler (Temporary Files)\NAM_Diagonal_BridgeEnabler" will not only cause the DLL to fail, but also (depending on your plugins) cause the DBE to fail.
Thanks! Now that I've got it working it's great...so much easier! 5/5
25. Diagonal Bridge Enabler DLL Toggler (READ INSTRUCTIONS!)

I can't get it to work. I've re-extracted the DBE to my plugins folder. They appear under the "NAM_Diagonal BridgeEnabler" folder in a sub-directory folder named "~Diagonal Bridge Enabler (Temporary Files)." I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong or if my computer simply insist on giving me grief. I could really use some help on this one...Thanks in advance!
