Hello everyone. Today I will present you my old home city: Londrina. Located in State of Paraná, Brazil. The second largest in state. It is the 20th most vertical city in world. In 2010 population is around 850.000 Located near to state of São Paulo, the richest in country, and in a important agricultural region. Originally planned to 89.000 population, city suffered a boom since the end of second world war. Londrina is a new city, started in 1930 even british farmers abandoned south africa cotton camps because a civic war. In these yars, north of Parana are only forest. Atracted by fertile land, called "Terra Rossa" by italians, Englands starts to plant coffe, even country was the largest coffe producer. The idea of a city was to stimulate the sales. "Buy a farm, and win a House in the little town." The name Londrina means "Little London", because when british came, a big Fog, normally happens in winter, made the city look like London. Well, the 'iron horse' made the city grows fast. Today are a important educational and industrial pole. Hello mates. Although ST isn't the right place to ask it, I think is reasonable try find help here too. I'm looking forward for a Certificate in Business, in Australia. I found the courses in public (government) colleges (TAFE) so much expensive if you compare with the private ones. I heard a lot about how good are the TAFE's, therefore they are a lot practical. Well, what i'm concerned about is the price. A BSB30407 Certificate III in Business Administration, in Gold Coast area, costs 4820.00 at Gold Coast Learning Centre, which is private, for 30 weeks. The same course in Gold Coast Institute of TAFE costs A$ 6400.00, for 20 weeks. Worth pay more in TAFE ?? Why the same course vary 10 weeks from each other? Please, may you Aussies help me.

Canada was my first choice. My cousin live in Vancouver, and two old friends of mine live in GTA. I was thinking in Toronto: relatively low cost of life, near to Niagara Falls, cool and walkable. I like the spirit of the city. Actually, without false modesty, Brazilians have a good reputation through Ontario universities. Although, Australia give me the possibility to work, which is impossible being a student in Canada.(unless I work in Campus). I work hard to pay the course, so Australia is my choice, offering almost the same as Canada, with a little money save opportunity. I found Melbourne, Brisbane, and Gold Coast attractive. I need examine deeply the courses details before chose the city. (GC beaches is a good favorable point. ) About my question (TAFE is better or not?) , these guys answered the question. YES, is worth pay more. Well, i got the answer. Thanks for your helpfulness.

The details... it is a idyllic sight ! Very good.

No phrase win the finnish: Kokoo kokoon koko kokko! Koko kokkoko? Koko kokko. Translate: Gather up a full bonfire! A full bonfire? A full bonfire. PS: I do NOT speak Finnish. :kitty:

I was thinking in Brisbane, but I changed my mind. One reason why i choose Australia to study is the casual work possibility. I found Brisbane not so 'beach city' like GC or Sidney. Sidney is huge. GC although is dense, is not so big. Hotels, bars, restaurants, probably will be near to the beaches, so, I think will be easy to find a part-time job in GC. I'm Brazilian, nobody refuse my 'caipirinha' About the TAFE, only the spaced/full course justify the price? TAFE doesn't has a better quality, or it is the same as the private Learning Center ? Edit, to clarify: is only the difference between a long spaced and a compact full course that changes the price? There is a thousand and half dollars of difference ! The quality of course has some thing to do with that difference of prices?
-
No, i'm not australian. No I'm not. So, I'll pay all the costs. ANonnyMoose: TAFE means 'Technical And Further Education', i think it is similar to american meaning of College (Higher Education). I'm not sure, maybe ROFLyoshi could explain it better, but look like the TAFE's are only ruled by government.

The moon gravity stabilizes the earth rotation axis. Without the moon, the axis moves freely, and the day duration will continuously vary from few hours to long weeks.

Discussion about Always-On Connection to Origin
iuri99 replied to neurokirurgi's topic in SimCity (2013) General Discussion
EA destroyed my dream of conurbation. =/ Why they will control the city boundaries? I though we could send a Accept/Reject option to the neighbour city, and we together create our connections. Control just resources and not control the city/region destroy the city planning objective. Create a little agricultural city, or sprawl the metropolis to another boundaries in our own way are stucked on the MAXIS 'municipal master plan'. -
I miss my 10mb internet.
