might want to disable traffic for that shot bud. It looks weird with the garbag truck there. Otherwise, neat effect. I would advise making headlights facing towards the camera much brighter though. edit// Also, a lot of people would turn left onto that avenue from the turn lane.

Rebuilding Illium City from the ground up. Opinions?
-
This lovely interchange is where the newly constructed IH-288 North Loop terminates at IH-75 in Illium City. Unfortunately, it cut out a large swath of the St. Augustine neighborhood. Also seen here is the remains of Forester Ave. The Forester Ave/IH-75 Interchange was demolished to make room for the IH-288 Loop interchange, so the forgotten avenue led to nowhere, leading to pretty extensive overgrowth. The land is up for bid and is zoned residential, but so far no contractors have picked it up. Please excuse the zoning areas. I'm rebuilding Illium City from the ground up.

Now, before you go about yelling at me about not testing it, I have. I've removed everything out of my plugins folder except NAM and the texture mods. I also made sure the sandstone texture mod load after NAM, and the TuLEP and other NAM Sandstone fixes load last. I'm not sure what's going on. I'm using the latest version of NAM (NAM32) with full options. Any idea what's going on? Click for full size

TuLEP Sandstone fix. (SOLVED)
SAVAGExPHOENIX replied to SAVAGExPHOENIX's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Indiana Joe, Thank you for that last line. That's what fixed it. The only one that didn't convert is the rail/ave TuLEP, but I think that may have been just simply not included with it. Everything else works wonderfully. Thank you, sir! I vote this topic be listed as solved. -

Yeah, well I-35E is the second busiest corridor in North Texas (right behind I-635 from US-75 to I-35, which is also under a massive expansion project). I think that this is a brilliant idea, and I certainly will be enjoying the increased traffic flow, especially the extra general-use lane from Swisher Rd in Corinth to US-380 in Denton. Where it goes from 3 to 2 near Swisher Rd right now gets congested for miles and miles, adding about 10 minutes during the day, and an extra 30 during rush hour. I'm glad to see hit happening. -
Okay well I know what I want to do with the front. I've made some subtle changes to the actual structure itself, as well as started on the grounds. As per usual, ignore the placeholders on the ground plane. Also ignore the odd rendering error on the HVAC on the top. I forgot to set the raytrace acceleration off BSP2. Reflecting pools/fountains are WIP right now. Still working out the reflections. Anywho, the back (not seen here) kind of bothers me. It seems bland. I'm thinking maybe adding small shops or something (meaning you should put a street/road/ped mall there). What do you think about that idea? Also, the lot will be transit enabled to connect the underground parking garage to the road.

Yeah I'm really curious about the AVE2 Median your using. I've got the one that you can find on the STEX, but it doesn't look like yours. I like what you've done though! I'm modeling suburban Illium a little bit after your work, since it's so fabulous!

So, my buddy made this cool little find. Interstate 35 East in North Texas (from Dallas to Denton) is undergoing a pretty large expansion project. You guys might find this pretty interesting, and also a great way to show off expansion projects in your City Journals using this kind of template. Anywho, Enjoy! Thanks guys! I'm having a little trouble coming up with something I'm happy with for the grounds. Any ideas?

Oh well, guess I'll have to look for some help in the forums. Thank you very much SimCoug Sorry for the little slowdown on the project my friends, but as I stated, I'm having serious issues with Zoom 1 and I want to fix it before moving on, hope you guys understand me I ran into this issue as well. You forgot to un-check "convert units" when you imported your LODs into gmax. It happened to me on my first BAT attempt.

It looks fantastic, but it also looks like it's going to have a limited height, therefore limiting it's application

Well, if any of those programs can export to .3ds format (I know for a fact autocad can), then you can import it into 3DS Max and work from there. Take a look at thread to see how to export from there. There are PLENTY of tutorials on navigating and creating things in 3DS Max. GMAX is also a great way to go if you can't afford (or aren't willing to risk pirating [and we DON'T CONDONE THAT HERE ]) 3DS Max. All in all, I really recommend utilizing Max. It's extremely powerful software. After you've created your model and exported it using SimFox's Bat4Max, you'll need both the Plugin Manager and Lot Editor (and if you want to transit enable your lot, you'll need iLive reader, I think). There are several tutorials on the Omnibus, the easiest to follow are here (If you can find Bat Essentials Parts 3 and 4, they do a great job explaining how to go from model to ingame) Good luck, and welcome to the BATting community!

I swear, one day I will finish one of these and release them. As for the Greystone Tower seen in my previous post, the model itself is completed, however there are some issues with scaling (since I started it before setting up my scene [DERP]), and I also did the night model before finishing day (hey, it was my first real run at BATting. Anywho, I got kind of disheartened when I ran into all those problems and stopped modeling for a while. Well, last week I found this (very unfinished) little beauty lying about my external drive while I was deep cleaning everything. I don't remember creating it, so either: a) I was incredibly intoxicated when I started it (which is very possible knowing me. I'm like the American version of a Russian drunk) or b) it is a public asset I found somewhere on the web. (equally as likely, considering I find stuff, download it, then forget about it the next day) Either way, I've put about 40 hours of work into it so far (it started out as nothing but a mess of meshes and unfinished splines), and I'm really liking where it's going. Excuse the placeholder textures. I'm still working on the grounds and such. I plan on adding a fountain and a mini-park somewhere. The tiled grass is just a reference point to know how many tiles in SC4 and where to put things. Anywho, opinions? //edit: Whoops, forgot to attach the picture!

I remade this old monster [LINK] into this new monster: Unfortunately there's a bit of weaving, but that can't be helped since flexfly MIS ramps only accept MIS, RHW2 and RHW4 underneath them. To compensate I added collector lanes.

Well done, Meta. You probably could have tightened up the loop with a different Y split, but overall it's really well done.

Huston, you're more than welcome to make the ship into a BAT. I'm not sure how much it'll be used, but all you gotta do is ask man. The models are a public resource via Bioware, and I have no problems with you using my texture update on it.- 352 Replies

Hokay, so, I'm tired of working on skyscrapers. They take up too much time. I'm moving in a different direction. I'm working on a new set of manors, since there really aren't that many great manor SETS. There are plenty of them out there, but nothing in terms of a good solid set. I didn't want to go overboard on the size, so I'm keeping the floorplans between 4 and 8 thousand sq ft (usually pricing between 750,000 to 1.5 million USD in the Dallas area). What I'm really proud of is that I came up with this ingenious modular design that allows me to change the entire layout in minutes, and keep the same style. I'm planning on making 8 to 10 different models and making them growable on 4x4 high wealth/low density lots. I'll need help with that part, but so far it's coming along well. Here are the current three designs. The Northridge, the Westingham and the Windhaven.
