  9. Quote of the Day

When I was 5, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life. John Lennon

  11. Quote of the Day

While this isn't a quote, I think its worth a post: Nothing is ever really lost, or can be lost, No birth, identity, form--no object of the world. Nor life, nor force, nor any visible thing; Appearance must not foil, nor shifted sphere confuse thy brain. Ample are time and space--ample the fields of Nature. The body, sluggish, aged, cold--the embers left from earlier fires, The light in the eye grown dim, shall duly flame again; The sun now low in the west rises for mornings and for noons continual; To frozen clods ever the springs invisible law returns, With grass and flowers and summer fruits and corn. Walt Whitman

I'm currently re-reading The Death and Life of Great American Cities by Jane Jacobs. It's a fascinating read if your into urban planning and urban geography.

  18. "Banished" a new city-building strategy game released today

I've been playing this for a couple of hours now and am really enjoying it. It can challenge you from time to time (especially during those winter months) but will keep your attention. Props to Luke and to all the time and effort he put into this game. Overall, I would definitely recommend this game!

  21. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this already but I just wanted to ask in case I missed something. I want to use VIP's wonderful water mmps to create a river. However, I'm wondering if there are eyecandy avenue bridges or a way to place a bridge over it. I know I could lower the terrain and use the rain tool to create a bridge over land but I was looking to see if there were any other solutions for this. This is what I'm talking about:
