Vlasky beat me to post the plans I think while your work is good you should try and replicate the look that you're given on plans, that way you stay very true to real thing and let's not kid ourselves - your work will be much faster. Don't get me wrong, I admire your work and your willingness to sculpt the Liberty by yourself

Thank you guys Now, here's the question: Left or right one? I think the texture on the right will blend better with the rest of the buildings in game and is somewhat closer in shade to real wall. What do you think?

Good job The crown, the torch and flame all look splendid (Just out of curiosity, did you model the door in the torch? ) You did very good job on sculpting the face. Z-brush is a powerfull tool, although I think I prefer traditional sculpting to it. The digital sculpting lacks this sense of ... reality. You can't touch the piece you are making, you can't feel it. My only pointers would be to lower her brow ridge (now the face expression is very different from original), her nose is much more squarish in the brigde and verry narrow at the tip But that's only if you really want to make her similiar to the real one, I don't think a model for SC4 requires this

Yes please I'm actually surprised how little reference materials there are for such a famous monument. There are plenty of references for the statue and pedestal but not so much for the podium / base. There also appears to be conflicting references, some have no staircases, some have one, and some have both. I've obviously made an assumption the two staircases are most recent additions and have included them. I can't quite work out their sizes accurately though (apart form width), the rest I've pretty much made it up. Although there's lots of references for the pedestal, getting good dimensions has been difficult. As far as I can tell, its 18m around the base, 16m around the top balcony, and according to wikipedia, the pedestal is 27.13m tall. I think these dimensions make it look too squat Anyway, any advice along the way would be great Well the base isn't all that important The staircases we can see now are probably from the 60's or later, I have one photo from 1959 that still shows original staircase to the pedestal. I figured that I could spend the eternity staring at your model and still not find out what exactly is off (in terms of the dimensions that is), so I've made this rough model to help me: (HD and SD sizes) It appears that your model is overall too short below the circles (I think they wanted to carve seals of forty states on them), also the capitals of great pillars are too short, as is the balustrade around the highest part of the pedestal. The part of the pedestal that statue stands on is an octagon, not rectangle I think that would be it... ah yes, the little "houses" above circles should be sloped [] Good work on the textures

Yeah, I think NYC BATs have a legacy of being the exclusive domain of the NYBT, and as that team aren't doing much these days so (apart from Huston's Time Square) not much is coming out of NYC atm... I can't help feeling like we need a new Statue of Liberty though We never said that we have some kind of exclusivity for the buildings from NYC. Everybody is welcomed to make something (Just saying, if somebody felt that way ) But I agree that we need a new Statue of Liberty (funny thing - I thought about it not a day ago when I saw your Cristo Redentor), the pedestal is a piece of cake, the Statue itself - not really

Well, new buildings from NYC aren't landmarks and are rather similiar to those being built around the world so you can always use BATs of other modern buildings.

I have two buildings in mind, one of them being Biblioteca Nacional from the list (looks like most of the historic structures are either demolished or far from city centre and I guess you would like to focus on buildings from there). When I get back home I will give it a try and see if I can keep up to your standards guys

I think not know Portuguese doesn't influence much. We have Elavery, Huston and Reddonquixote not speaking portuguese and they are doing and will do fantastic works on the project. If you want to be part of it, you're welcome I just meant that not knowing Portuguese I couldn't research the building like I usually do Besides, maybe it's just me but it seems that Brazilian architecture (or maybe Rio architecture) isn't very well represented online. Anyway, I would love to contribute... but I'm afraid my team would tan my hide for starting another BAT without finishing those already started And then there's also a question: what should I recreate?

Splendid work Reddonquixote, Christ the Redeemer looks great I was quite interested in Rio architecture at some point, this city has many great buildings. But my interest was rather short-lived since I don't know Portuguese...

Ok, soo I was looking for an alternative for Majhost since it looks like it's down for good... and I found Brickshelf...which looks exactly like majhost o.0 Does anybody know this site?

I've moved to Flickr. Something like 1TB of space on a free account and no maximum upload size.
Imgur is more convenient but has a cap of 1mb and will resize larger images down to this. Can make images look like crap. Also free accounts only have the latest 250 images visible.
So ya, I'd recommend Flickr over Majhost these days for larger image sizes due to stability issues with Majhost.

I cannot say anything of either, even if I have flickr I don't like it. For starters its has a bit of a unfriendly UI and to me it sometimes has a sense for Photojournalism rather than sc4 photos and that has put me off a bit, same goes for anything else I do. I yet have to find a suitable replacement for majhost imho. The only permanent solution I can imagine is setting up a personal server which will be hazardous and expensive.

Oh my, I haven't posted here for over two years? I could swear that it was no longer than year ago... But anyway, I looked through my started projects and decided that for a new year I will try to finish something small. So here it is, a memorial form my home city, there's still a lot of work to do (it's just a base) but I should be able to finish it quite quickly SD and HD views: Postcard showing original memorial:

I think the problem with the sidewalk is that the texture is just too small and too detailed I sometimes have this problem too with details on my buildings, instead of nice ornaments you can only see a blur Anyway, the building is very nice Good job
