17 pointsHey guys, We've updated everything! I know you're not seeing much more than the forums right now but that's on purpose. I've decided to disable the other sections because there are still post-upgrade tasks that running in the background. As these tasks complete, I'll be bringing online the STEX, City Journals, Chat, and other pages as well as a few completely new sections. For now, we'll have to hang around the forums. You may find things to be a bit slow, again, those background tasks on the server are still running. I'll leave the forums open for now and see how things are running, but you can expect occassional periods where the system will not be available, and expect some slow load times for the next little while. Hopefully, we'll get all the other systems back online quickly. I wish there was another way to handle this, but the way things are set up, this is the only way... Thanks for being patient the last couple days... If you have any questions let me know below. Notes - You will need to sign-in with your Display Name. The system has done away with both a "username" and a "Display Name" and now there is just Display Name which is what you will need to use to sign in.

16 points"Never had so valuable a train been loaded. Half a million treasures had been dispatched. A million more still awaited exit” - Harrison E. Salisbury 27/6/1941 - Moscow Station in Vosstaniya Square. Some Leningraders still call it October Station, the name it bore from 1924 to 1930 (it had been Nicholaevsky Station since 1851). Security has increased since the outbreak of war. Several soldiers and a tank guard every entrance to the building, and another two anti-aicraft guns have been installed around the statue of Alexander III of Russia, making a total of four. Soldiers loading trucks with boxes full of masterpieces from the Hermitage. Director Orbeli has gotten away with it, and the humungous train that has arrived to the October Station to move units of the great Kirov defense plant will now be used for the evacuation of the Hermitage. 27/6/1941 - Inside Moscow Station during the evacuation of the Hermitage museum. Two passenger cars are stationed in platform number 1, the first for the workers and the second for the military guard. As we scroll down the picture we see two locomotives and two flatcars with anti-aircraft guns which will later be attached to the train. In the freight terminal, 22 cars are being loaded with the treasures from the Hermitage. Special attention to the the armoured car in the third line, identified with a red star; it contains the work of Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dick, Da Vinci, Velazquez, El Greco, Murillo, and others. Disclaimer: This CJ includes original photos taken during the siege. To my knowledge none of them is protected by copyright, but if I were wrong I'm happy to delete any picture that infringes the law. ----------------------------------[AUTHOR'S COMMENT]---------------------------------- While working on this entry I realized that I made a mistake in Dvortsovy II. I included the statue of Alexander III in the image of the Marble Palace. However, as we can see in the first picture of this update, the statue was in the middle of Vosstaniya Square. Several years later it was transfered to its current location in the Marble Palace, and replaced by the Hero City Obelisk that commemorates the victory in World War II. Just for fun I decided to re-edit the picture as a window to the future, mixing the atmosphere of 1941 and the monument of 1990. Your feedback and comments are very much appreciated. Hope that you enjoyed this update :-)

14 pointsWelcome to the first NYBT International Month is a project of NYBT long in the making. We wanted to give a little bit more of attention to the International style building from NYC and particularly Manhattan. During the month of June we will be posting progress and revealing projects we've been all working on. As a month comes to a close, we will try our best to finish as many of the BATs and upload them to the StEx. As usual, this thread will be a quick overview of the progress, and for more details head over to the each creator's individual BAT Thread in the NYBT sub-forum. Participation in this project has been confirmed by: Seraf, Aarong Graham, PBGV103, Vlasky and Darknono35 (but he has disappeared in the meantime).

14 pointsNice Truss and Radio Towers Could always use more of'em. Stuff I got going...you may or may have not seen them, but here they are anyway as I've updated them in the last few weeks

14 pointsThanks guys! Lovely work Aaron! Since I didn't get around to working on the 41 Madison I have to reveal the second BAT, right? The Second BAT from me for the NYBT International Month is J.P. Stevens Company Tower or 1185 Sixth Avenue. More info and Pictures here:

14 pointsWell guys I'm back with updates. As you know by now, we have been quietly working on the NYBT INternational Month for quite some time now. Finally, it is time to show you what we've been up to all that time. First project I chose to reveal is 41 Madison Avenue, also known as the New York Merchandise Mart. Most of the exterior has been done and all that is left to do is figure out how to do the interior and after that night lights. Also there is some room for improvement on the glass part. Here it is: I'm open for any suggestions on how/what to improve.
-
14 pointsThank you guys for your kind words! So, as you probably know by now, I agreed to contribute to NYBT International Month (yeah, can't believe it too ) this will by my first BAT in this style, I'm working hard to make it look good. The building is located on Madison Avenue between 27th and 28th street. I refer to is as 27E27thStreet:

13 points@Moerp: Thanks for your comment! I live very near the U-Bhf Samariterstrasse, I really like this area of the city! @Tonraq: Many thanks! @Sexysark:P: Indeed, it describes it good because it is quite based in real events Thanks for commenting! @Mymyjp: That's my intention! Thanks! @Ln X: Everybody loves W2Ws, right? Thanks for commenting! @Benedict: Thank you very much! You don't find quality techno/electro in many CJs around here... @slickbg56: Totally "art" imitates life. I'm trying to push this CJ to transmit the vibe of nights like this to the readers, but I'm afraid I'll never be able of imitating 100%... @MilitantRadical: That time of the day. I personally enjoy it a lot (but yeah, I also want to go home). Thanks! @VicRusty: Moltes gràcies! Actually everything you see in this CJ is plopped, including the parking lots. I avoid the zots using the "tastyzots" cheat. @Simul8ter8: Glad you liked it, thank you very much for commenting! @Biff Weissblut: Thanks! ------------------------------------------------------ That moment of the year. Beginning of the Summer. There is one day, when the termometers hit 30 degrees Celsius, it happens around June. That day is widely celebrated in Berlin, a city that has spent months living under a layer of grey until just a few weeks ago. When the sun goes out and the temperatures go up, Berliners just go crazy and spend most of the day outside. The joke is that they do it because they never know when will they see the sun again. The most delicious time of the day arrives around 5 or 6 pm, when the sun begins setting. The warm breeze swings the trees there at Blaschkeplatz. We were sitting in a bench on the square, looking for the last sunrays, Ray-Ban shades all the way. Nothing to do for the rest of the day. One of my friends began messing with the phone, and in a matter of minutes, we were invited to a roof party, which was taking place... right now. After a brief discussion, and in front of the perspective that we had nothing really better to do, we decided to go. The party was not far away, very near the U-Bhf Lübbenauer Tor, so it was time to pass by a Späti and buy some drinks and food. We grabbed only a few beers for each of us. Depending on how the party goes, we'd come back or not. We walked down Lübbenauer Damm till reaching the address we had been given. We crossed the door and climbed the stairs up to the rooftop. We found already people chatting and couples flirting on the staircase, that was the sign we were approaching the party and we were in the correct building. Outside; sun, good temperature, good music (a mix of commercial and more author house, which everybody agreed on), around 40-50 people and a lot of booze. There even was a DJ! Perfect mood all around. It didn't take too much until we began dancing. The sights were privileged, we could see the Allianz billboard of the Treptowers building at the right, until the Potsdamer Platz skyscrapers at the left. Beyond them, the silhouettes of the buildings next to the Zoo can be guessed. Funny friends, cold beer, great temperature, sunny weather, nice girls, great music and good mood. All in one rooftop. All in Lübbenauer Tor. ---------------------------------------------- I'd like to credit elavery, as he allowed me to used his MMPd Sims props he superbly plopped on the beach (http://community.simtropolis.com/journal/4948/entry-24253-fifa-world-cup-special-rios-copacabana/) for my use on this CJ. It was not really hard to photoedit them into my photos, and I think the result turned out pretty good... Liked it? Don't forget to comment/+1!

12 pointsAuthor's Note: OMG. I don't know what to say, it has been a while since Teiko updated so here it is! Sorry that past entries have no images, I blame majhost for that. I will try to get those images back when I find time, uploading them is easy but pasting them again is quite a conundrum. Well back on the regular programming, it really took some time before this thing was finished so I hope you grab your popcorn now and enjoy! Replies to comments! THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE UNDYING SUPPORT, SEE YOU NEXT TIME! TEiKO. IT'S MORE FUN HERE! Disclaimer: Some pictures are not mine, all of them are credited to their rightful owners. 12 pointsI think it might be useful to have a Trixie Discussion thread. As we have seen, many users were uncertain about categories. Others didn't have much time and lacked an overview of some remarkable stuff that happened throughout the year. Then there's the problem with the time window: Was that great release that I'd like to honour published in 2014? Or in 2015? Six months after the end of the Trixie period, I may not remember, and I may lack time and/or motivation to do the research. If we had a thread, people could share and discuss their highlights, help each other to find categories, and so forth. Everyone here visits some parts of the site. For example, I have no idea about C:S or about the CJ section for SC4, but I browsed the STEX for SC4 stuff, and I could have given some pointers as to who published noteworthy stuff on the STEX, and maybe some inspiration for other members to go and look for themselves whose work they like best. If the Trixies were announced some time before nominations open, such a thread could (hopefully) also contribute to generating some buzz and maybe even increase the overall number of nominations because more members would have a general overview of stuff people find remarkable, and many may be reminded of stuff that they might have forgotten about otherwise. For example, after browsing the STEX, I could have posted something like "Hey guys, I just remembered that there have been some great automata releases this year. Author A has made some great vehicles, author B has a nice set of airplanes, and let's not forget the fancy stuff made by author C. I like author D's trains, too. Who is your favourite? Do you remember another author who has made great stuff? Do you guys think that "Best Automata 2014" would make for a good Trixie category?" I think/hope that contributions like these could get a nice discussion started. What do you think?

12 pointsLoving the port you've got going on! I'm working on a hilly, leafy area at the moment that I will surround with light forest. This is the overview, followed by a few select close-up snaps.

11 pointsThe pictures & information below is for the most part a duplicate of an entry that I recently posted in a CJ. I use the CJ in part to showcase my work. But going forward it's more appropriate to post progress reports in this section. I've always had an interest in skyscrapers from the time I was little. It's the reason why I was originally drawn to the city simulation genre in the first place. I'm sure many SC4 players can say the same. However I differ from the norm in that I also have an interest in other tall non-highrise structures. Be it a skyscraper, observation tower or even a smoke smokestack, I appreciate tall structures all the same. The reasons for this is because of where I'm from. While we do have a pretty decent skyline here in Toronto, undoubtedly the single most impressive part of the skyline is our observation tower. For those not familiar with it, the CN Tower, with a height of 1,815ft / 553.33m, was the tallest freestanding structure in the world for over 30 years(from 1976 to 2007). CN tower u/c Only the Empire State Building has reigned over a height title(post industrial era) for a longer period of time. Needless to say it's something we're quite proud of, much in the same way as a skyscraper aficionado's from New York or Chicago are proud of their distinctive skyscrapers and record holders. I would not have been any more impressed with the structure if it were a buildings instead. Another thing that influenced my perception was the neighborhood where I grew up in. There was a very large plant nearby with a tall smokestack. That chimney was easily the most distinctive landmark in my community. It was a beacon that literally helped me find my way home a number of times. Once when I was little and got lost and then on a number of occasions later on when I was in a drunken stupor... That 'ol stack and little else So in contrasts to most people's opinions about those smokestacks, I was thankful for their existence. That in a nutshell is why I am impressed by all tall structures. Smokestacks were the first custom BAT's I made and subsequently released on the exchange more than 10 years ago. Of course they are relatively simple to BAT compared to a building. Later on I did try to BAT buildings & towers, with a few decent results I never got around to releasing any of these structures because no matter what fix I tried I could never get the damn night lights to work. So after much frustration, I abandon creating building altogether and took a break from BATing. It was after this that I discover my niche. For there is another type of tall structure that I've always though was pretty cool looking. Add to that, I've also had an interest in steel frame structures, such as cantilever & steel arch bridges. So what do you get when you combine steel structures with height? The lattice tower. These structures are know by a few other terms as; truss towers, freestanding framework towers or more simply radio/tv towers. My fascination with them has only increased after I started making them, because its something I turned out to be pretty good at(imo). And aside from several concrete observation towers and a small number of smokestacks, guyed and self supporting towers, there is overall very little of any other type of tall non-highrise structures on the exchange, especially when compared to the number of buildings that have been released. The BellCan & Russian tower have relatively simple superstructures; The entire scope of the project comprises more than two dozen lattice towers(a few are 'hybrids') from all over the world and a few custom designs. Many of which are very prominent landmarks in their respective cites. Imo some of these are amongst the coolest looking/most interesting structures on Earth. (additional images in the spoiler tag) SC4 gmax (partial)render shots On another note, I would of loved to transferred these into Cities Skylines. Heck I might have even persuaded to stop playing SC4 if possible. Unfortunately they're too detailed, many of them have more than 100,000 polygons/triangles and from what I understand, assets above 10k will some serious lag and/or crash issues in skylines. Going forward I'd love to get pre-release feedback on details like textures and scale. The next post will contain the directory of releases.

11 pointsThe first update will focus on the downtown of Okushiri, with the old port. You can click on the pictures to see them in full view. (1280px) Pics are a bit heavy (1~2mb) so let them load fully. An overview of the downtown area, not a lot of big buildings. The railway station serves only a small local line that runs around the island. There are some blank spaces because it is of course still work in progress. A closer view of the train station area. From another angle and night. A closer view of some of the building making the downtown. Lots of offices but also some good apartment buildings. The danchi area located just next to the downtown. Since it is uphill, you have a fantastic view of the downtown both day and night. The ferry terminal and some houses along the shore of the downtown gulf. The other side of the port, the apartments building here also have a fantastic view. -- That's all for now, hope you liked it even if it's repetitive.

11 pointsTekindusT - It was very nice hotel in the olden days Now it's only shadow of itself... Vlasky - Thank you cmdp123789 - Thank you JP Schriefer - Thank you Hotwheeler - Originally it was called "New York Life Insurance Company Annex" since it was addition to the main headquarters across 27th street. I don't know under what name I will upload it Yeah, there really isn't much roofjunk on this building, there was even less of it when the building was new A cafe on the rooftop for the employees would be great idea Experimenting with roof materials... I can't get them right :/

10 pointsSterling Drug Company Building Test render, after test, render after, test render, and now I have an update. All the testing was for the glass and the building facade color, the renders were lasting up to one hour and it's twelve minutes, I went through a lot and I still have more work to do. I need to work on the lower floors, the rest of the curtains, the roof and the inside of the building.

10 pointscmdp123789- I may make the whole block, I need to get a good look at the buildings behind the theater. Sterling Drug Company Building This could be a new project for "International Month", the building does not look to hard to make and it does not have a plaza that will slow things down. Here's the links to the buidling. 10 pointsI suppose I'd be open to revisiting some of these if there's the demand for it. In case there are any in particular that you'd be interested in me saving (as many as you like, I figure they don't take up very much space so I won't actually delete them), feel free to list their numbers! Of course, there's no guarantee that I'll wind up actually tackling them, but I'm curious to hear which ones are thought to be worth saving. I've been looking at them far too long to consider them objectively, so I'd really appreciate your input. I actually do rather like a few of these. One thing at a time, though. I have a library and a couple of towers in the queue right now - I'll get to those shortly. The ID thing has been resolved for the time being - I reinstalled gmax/BAT and did enough exports to get new unique IDs, and so far I haven't gotten any more duplicates. No word yet on whether it'll revert back like it did last time. As far as current projects go, I've recently taken to revisiting the old Paramount Theater that I dropped from the pack I released in the fall. The reason I put it on hold was because I was having trouble figuring out what to do with the roof, but I toyed around with it quite a bit and I came up with something that might be satisfactory. I've tried about a dozen different things, so I suppose I'm fine with trying a couple more if necessary. You be the judge! I need a break from staring at it, so any and all pointers are greatly appreciated. The houses are all lotted/modded and ready to go! I just have to play around with them a bit ingame and they should be on the STEX in the very near future And to think it only took me ~3 years to finally finish this small set of tiny homes. I only did the night scenes this past spring break, so maybe I should work on working a little more diligently...

9 points________________________________________________________________________ Note: It is what it says. Welcome to the new version of World Alphabet. If you want to see the past two updates to this old CJ, click on the bottom of the post for the previous page. The main concept here now is to show you glimpses of particular areas of a city. It may depict more than one area of a given city, but that depends on what I've got made at the time. Enjoy this refreshed City Journal! ~Huston

8 points.I represent the capital of Guademian Republic, the Norige Hills. Main economic, administrative, cultural and industrial center of the country. It is the biggest on the area and the population the city. Lives 3.523.117 people in city boundaries, and with suburbs about 5,5 million people. Annually the capital is visited by more than 3 million tourists. We will begin with the capital of Norige Hills. Here you see a royal garden in which the presidential palace is located, serving with 1349 to 1922 summer official residence of an imperial dynasty Rombergs... Also there is a national gallery constructed in 1355, the emperor Vincent. In a royal garden there is rather big artificial lake. The emperor Vincent invited the best handymen of landscape business to create a heavenly spot in the garden. Thousands of tourists, visiting the former royal palace and gallery, don't forget to walk at the lake and to feed ducks. Also here it is possible to drive on the carriage with horses. Next Coming: Inner City....Historic center....Squares.....Tourist areas....Subway map.... transport..... Areas and another.... But later

8 pointsThis entry will not be an update of any particular area of my region but rather It'll be about my BAT project. For those who follow the CJ, I'm sure its readily apparent what type of structure I'm referring to. So what do you get when you combine the two? The lattice tower. These structures are know by a few other terms as; truss towers, freestanding framework towers or more simply radio/tv towers. My fascination with them has only increased after I started batting them, because its something I turned out to be pretty good at. And aside from several concrete observation towers and a small number of smokestacks, guyed and self supporting towers, there is surprisingly little of any other type of tall non-highrise structures on the ST exchange compared to the number of highrises out there. So its high time I took the proverbial cat out of the bag and revealed this secret little project of mine, which I've been working on(and off) for the last 3 years. Several of these towers have already been seen on the CJ; The BellCan & Russian tower have relatively simple superstructures And while the Mount Royal tower is more detailed, it's too short to really be a significant landmark. Serves as more of a 'filler' tower. But what's been shown so far is really just the tip of the iceberg. The entire scope of the project comprises more than two dozen lattice towers from all over the world and a few custom designs. Many of which are very prominent landmarks in their respective cites. Imo some of these are amongst the coolest looking/most interesting structures on Earth. So without further ado, ToS Project list A Royal Tower[Canada] (released - Mount Royal) BellCan[Canada] (released - Bell Canada) Cyberpunk Tower[Japan] (in progress) Fatal Attraction [uS] Horizontal Lines Tower[uS] (completed) King Kgon[uS] Russian Style[Russia] (released - Murmansk) Simple Truss[Canada] (completed) Supertall Spire[uS] (completed) The Angel[spain] (in progress) The Cone[Russia] The Cross[Europe] The Crystal[uK] (in progress) The Diamond[uS] (in progress) The Dalek[uK] The Endless White[uS] (finishing touches) The Eye[custom] (completed) The Hybrid[Europe] The Needle[uS] (completed) The Mini-white[brazil] The Octagon[Russia] (completed) The Pyramid of Steel[uS] (finishing touches) The Rocket[brazil] The Ski Tower[Europe] The Square[brazil] (in progress) The Star[uS] (finishing touches) The Trident[Asia] (in progress) The Ultimate Pylon[Asia] X Tower [custom] (completed) These are not the actual names of the towers, but rather project/code names. It's just easier for me to keep track of them this way. Most towers are known by their radio/tv station initials, with a few exceptions. On another note, I would of loved to transferred these into Cities Skylines. Heck I might have even persuaded to stop playing SC4 if possible. Unfortunately they're too detailed, some of them have more than 100,000 polygons/triangles and from what I understand, anything above 10k will some serious lag and/or crash issues in skylines. Most images are gmax screen pics. It's obviously not an angle you'd see in SC4, but the idea is just to relay the detail of each superstructure. There will be a few render preview pics of portions of the towers at the end. But I won't be showing actual in game shots until I get to them in the CJ. I mean, you can't expect me to completely reveal 3 years worth of work in just a one single entry can you? Birds eye views Many of these are still a work in progress, their current appearance may not necessarily represent actual in game textures. Schematic shots original teaser shots That tower was about 600ft/185m high, some of these are almost twice as tall. From the bottom up look up... wayyyy up. From the inside out And of course a sneak preview of what you want to see the most, SC4 gmax (partial)render shots In the shadows of giants Needless to say, nothing else I do in SC4, or with any game for that matter, will ever top this project(for me - in terms of effort and contribution to the community). So which of these towers would you like to see next? And think you can you identify any of them with their real world counterparts? If so, I'll consider releasing them before I get to them in the CJ provided they're completed of course.

8 pointscmdp123789- Thank you!!! Huston- Thank you, I use Onyx Broadleaf to make my trees. JP Schriefer - Thank you!!! Toothless Stitch- Thank you. Sterling Drug Company Building Here's a small update, still more to do.

8 pointsOkay, I think I'll just ship this out on the STEX now...maybe as a V1.0? I just kinda wanna release it now before it starts gathering dust in my hard drive like a dozen more files are doing I mean why horde BATs when you can share'em? Looks presentable enough anyway...hopefully. CLOSE 'NUFF Although I will remodel the area around the stairs and change the texture before any exporting happens

8 pointscmdp123789: Thanks! Btw, I'll try to get something for your birthday JP Schreifer: Thanks! Hotwheeler: Thank you! Well the glass is transparent and there is some sort of texturing on the floors, but the plan is to have some "furniture" set up. I think that's the best way since the glass on the RL building is transparent for the most part. But it is also more relfective than what I have achieved there, so I'll be fixing it. Like I said in the NYBT International Month Thread: Here is zoom5 of the roof and the plaza behind the building (plaza is lacking little pines that you can see in the render above): As for this building, the whole ground floor needs remodeling and adding details, there is also an annex behind with gallery/theater and a "bridge" connecting the tower and the annex that I need to model. The Plan is to have the tower with Plaza available for growable/ploppable purposes and the version with annex for the recreationists. I'd like to have a diagonal version as well.

7 pointsWorkshop Link This mod makes possible to apply building themes to a district or the whole city. Only buildings which are contained in one of the selected themes will grow in a district. What this mod does: Adds 'Themes' tab to districts policies panel Filters buildings in districts by districts' active themes. Provides two built-in themes, 'European' and 'International' Stores building themes in an XML file ({Steam folder}\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\BuildingThemes.xml) Allows adding custom themes and extending built-in themes via the XML configuration file (Later this will be possible with UI - see 'Upcoming features' section) Saves district data in XML files for each saved game (buildingThemesSave_{ID}.xml). They can be found in {Steam folder}\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data. Cloud saves supported too. To clear themes assignment just delete those files. Use 'Themes' tab to enable or disable district's themes. You can specify any number of active themes. If no theme is active for district it will mean that any growable is allowed. Biome's native theme will be active by default ('European' theme for 'European' biome, 'International' theme for 'Boreal', 'Temperate' or 'Tropical' biome). Themes specified city-wide will be applied to each new district you add automatically. If you redraw district's borders the buildings not belonging to district's theme won't disappear. When it's time for them to upgrade they will level up to a building that is allowed in the district. What this mod doesn't do: It won't corrupt your save games if you disable it It doesn't unlock European growables for non-European biomes or vice versa. Use European Buildings Unlocker for that. Upcoming features: Building Themes Manager UI: Allows you to create your own themes (supporting vanilla and custom assets) This mod should be 100% compatible with all other mods. If it's not just tell us. Recommended mods to use together with this one: European Buildings Unlocker (+vice versa) Control Building Level Up Feel free to comment. If you have any errors/exceptions please don't paste them or output_log to comments. Use dropbox, pastebin or similar tool. Old WIP post:

7 pointsRealising that my first city in the game was rather horrible I've decided to start a new one. Westfield I call it (yes original I know). My goal with this city is to try to push the game to it's limits. I'm already rather scared of the tree-limit as I put trees and bushes.. everywhere. If you have any ideas for the city feel free to tell me! I originally posted this on the "Snabbserver Forum" aswell as on the Paradox forums but after some thinking I realised that this is probably the best place. At this moment the city includes: An amusement park, Central metro system, Central Railway system with currently 1 local line, Harbour/port, An aqueduct, A Canal, Golf Course, Man made lake and water/hydro power plant, Bus depot, A drydock & probably alot more that I have forgot about. Anyway, let's get started with the pictures! Overview of the city with the industrial area in front and residental/commercial area in the back (center of town). Main harbour to the left. Canal that goes from a water source all the way down to the main harbour in an attempt to keep the water level somewhat stable. And here's a good overview-picture of the harbour. Pictures from the amusement park that is devided into two separate parts. That's it for this time! Hopefully you got some ideas on what to build yourself. If you have any questions I am more then happy to anwser them. Original thread link: http://snabbserver.com/forum/index.php?topic=203.0

7 pointsAchtung Baby! For the next two months I will be playing SC4, so from today to the start of September I will posting about 2 or 3 entries per week. There are still areas of Weckum I have not shown to you, there is still much to complete in Annuq and there is other unfinished business I have with SC4. Let's begin! [-----------------------------------------------] Update 86- Trenton Trenton is right in the centre of Weckum and contains a graveyard, a hospital, a shopping strip, a few industrial units and lots of apartment rows. /// Trenton is right in the centre of this picture and to the left of the two corners of the river. The east end of the shopping strip. The West end of the shopping strip. To the bottom left is the hospital. The apartment rows get more classy the closer one gets to the river. Trenton graveyard. I've found a perfect use for Bipin's industrial roads. In the centre of the picture are the industrial units/buildings. My favourite industrial estate- small, pokey and grimy. Mind the corner. The BATs of these two-storey council houses are just great and very useful 2 by 1 residential fillers. The skyscraper in black was a happy accident which sprouted upwards. Finally a preview of Annuq's CBD. /// p.s. What are the dimensions of the featured pictures which are displayed on the Simtropolis homepage? I don't think it is 700 by 350 anymore. p.p.s After inspecting the images with the "inspect element" tool on Firefox it appears that the featured pictures resolute is 879 by 540. Is this correct?

7 points“Over the city of Lenin, the cradle of the Proletarian Revolution, there looms the immediate danger of the invading enemy” - Andrei Zhdanov 18/9/1941 - War Stories (Vol 1) 1) Top of the picture we see two trams runing Nevsky Prospekt, one of the few lines that are still working during the siege. Network damage and the need of manpower for the war effort has caused that public transport services have been severely reduced. 2) Scrolling down slowly we find a building that has been hit during the last barrage. A large section of the roof has been lost to the impact of a shell, and the rooms of the top floor are now visible from the sky. 3) Further down we notice that there's a restricted area in 3-ya Sovetskaya Ulitsa. Behind the wooden boards, some soldiers are trying to disable a German delay-action bomb. Conveniently, on the building to the left there's a huge poster of Lenin that reads "everything for the defense of Lenin's city". 4) 50 metres from there, a tank heading to the outskirts passes next to a crater opened in the ground by the explosion of a bomb. It has killed four people. 5) The last part of the picture shows a public garden now under control of the Red Army. Swings have been removed and two anti-aircraft guns have been installed. Two soldiers control each gun, one for communications and aiming, the other for shooting. An example of network damage. An example of a delay-action bomb restricted area. Disclaimer: This CJ includes original photos taken during the siege. To my knowledge none of them is protected by copyright, but if I were wrong I'm happy to delete any picture that infringes the law. ----------------------------------[AUTHOR'S COMMENT]---------------------------------- This time I wanted to show you something a little bit different from the usual stuff. With this gigantic close-up mosaic I wanted to bring to life the siege of Leningrad and the everyday stories that took place in the streets of the city. I'm planing to do more of these, so I'd be more than happy to know what do you think of it!

7 pointsSorry for bumping, but this thread doesn't seem very active, so it shouldn't really matter. I'm far from finished. This is a city that grows one step at a time which, as you could presume, takes time. I've worked on this to and from since september.

7 pointsHey there! To give a little background history, I have started this region since February, and ever since it was born, it has gone through many terrain and landscaping revisions ever since. At this state, I am (mostly) happy with the way it is coming along so far. However, I am still planning where to put my city location... and it's gonna be a small one, that's for sure!
-
7 pointsOk, I really needed some break from 27E27th Strret so I started this building a few days ago: Who knows where it stands?
-
7 points@__B I don't know yet, you think so? Btw I never did residentials in Plugin Manager, I think I'll have to ask people which numbers fits the best with the building. @Toothless Stitch yea it remind me some NYC buildings. There are more pics: This weekend I started to do it. I make it as a 2x2 building, it's larger than it really is and due to this the back of the building has a dimension error in the space between the white wall and one of the windows. I won't fix that because besides I have to change all the building, it's not a big error and it woudn't be a fatal error in real life from an engineering point of view. Here is how it's looking so far in zoom 5: I've to fix the dark texture that is looking repetitive and also do the roof. About OFS, day version is exported and I'm working on the night version

7 pointsSimCoug- Thank you!! cmdp123789- Thank you!! Huston- Thank you!! Paramount Plaza Another update, I made a few change to the roof.
-
7 pointsI fixed the windows and I did the roof junk, but need to change some textures there. In the base you can see I used some textures, I did it because when I do the night lights I want it more real, if I did it in the LE the lights inside the building will look weird there, but I can do a version without it if anyone wants. I hope to finish it in some weeks. I am slow to make updates because studies are taking a long time this year D:
