  1. Now SimCity has come a really long way from those simple images with Maxis towers and houses sprouting every which way on a city tile. But some people take it farther than that, rendering SimCity into more of an art form and an expression. I'm certainly one of those people who don't generally play the conventional way anymore, but I'd love to see some of everyone's more artistic masterpieces. Whether its a photoshopped picture or pure SimCity aesthetics. Post images here that are more outside of the general use for SimCity that aim primarily for aesthetic quality rather than functionality (or in any case, merge art and SC4 together) I've got some from my city journal to start it off Post away!

  3. Welcome to the Random Project. This particular BAT thread, independent from my Mass Effect themed Mass Effect: The Milky Way BAT Project, the Random Project is nothing more than a themeless creative board where I create something or anything, that doesn't necessarily fit any general catergory. Or simply put it this way. It's my BAT thread that is unrelated to Mass Effect: TMW. The projects here may be general and useful buildings, Science-Fiction themed or some other outright random BAT that makes no sense etc. Most of these BATs will be from small projects within my active CJs. Anyways, here are some things I might release since they're just lying idle in my Plugins folder. *Also, I wouldn't mind taking requests on Personalized City signage so long as I have time. If you want one made by me, then all you have to do ask.

Before and SC3KU Original: After: Keeping in mind that the whiteness of it in SC3KU was probably due to the way lighting was done for all the building renders :3 Also could someone point out how to make the renders sharper? I finally removed the graininess but having moved to 2014 last year and not been BATing since (should've opted for something more updated) I can't seem to figure out the settings to make this work properly like it used to with 2012.

Got lazy, so no usual mosaics this time Anedau. A mesmerizing city, full of hope, dreams and the progression of humanity. Despite the cataclysmic demise of global civlization, pockets of human existence remain on the planet. But the uncertainty of their fates reserve their existences to mere legends and myths, from a world long gone. This city may be all that remains of the glory of human intellect and technological achievement. Reminders everywhere of what the world and civilization had been reduced to. Some might even say that Anedau's golden-age may all be but a facade in a looming disaster out in the cold reaches of time. But regardless, the city remains a shining symbol of eminent peace and beauty. A wonderous synthesis of history and modern technology. Remnants of the gleaming image the 21st century world provided. It is even fortunate that those who founded this last bastion, could even afford and have the ability to rise a dormant ruin from the ground. May be there is hope. Real hope. May be the so called "lie" isn't a lie at all. But the truth remains. As the night falls, the activity dies down. The lights begin to pollute the skies. All that remains of the lights that once bore through darkness of the planet. But what we do know is, this is the Last City; and we must defend it to the utmost, regardless of circumstance. And that's it! Visit again when Random & Random has more random for you!

  10. U1: The Price of Expansion

    Hey Simtropolis I've caught a small break between my second and last exam, so I thought it'd be fun to try something SC4 related after such a long while. I decided to just make-do with what I already had, despite there being no real fresh BATs in this image. Starting out with a small scene, like I usually do, but it turned out quite nice "Despite our drive to reach for new stars and tame new worlds; there always lurks, a disaster at every corner. We realize that the galaxy is even wilder than we could possibly imagine, and no amount of technology could prepare us for the reality and the challenges it brings."
  11. Hey, I just thought I'd give this a shot and see if anyone could possibly point me out to a tutorial for creating MMP/Mayor Mode Ploppables? There's virtually nothing on the internet (that's obvious) that I can find regarding the conversion of props for use as MMP or how to even do that? I've been wondering how to do this since I first started BATing sci-fi props and would totally appreciate any help anyone could provide on this

    I've been inactive for almost 2 years, and when I read this it was definitely quite shocking and unexpected to see the loss of such an active member of the community.     _________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Unlike most BATs I've released, this particular BAT has not yet been featured, but in any case is one of Scott City's main Spaceport Terminals on the colony of Terra Nova. One of the many terminal and port structures that serve and connect Terra Nova's capital to the wider galaxy, it holds the passenger terminals, civilian immigrations processing, terminal security and the spaceport's tower control center and communications array. While not the only terminal structure on the spaceport, it does however house the control tower which keeps contact with airliners and ships that cross within the spaceport's control/contact radius. Fun Fact: This BAT is rendered in HD. Just thought it'd be fun... In-game demonstration Attention! This BAT currently only uses the dark-nite lighting system, and a maxis-nite version will come shortly after.     <p>Here is yet another Mass Effect BAT, though not a model from the official game. Set on the fictitious human colony system Ferust, Mast-One Station serves as a secretive, private and covert human research platform that allegedly experiment and tamper with Element Zero or eezo. But to cover up there illegal scientific operations, the station also supposedly is nothing more than a utility complex, supplying the real research stations with water from underground aquifers and in some cases, produces electricity.     A replication of the Blood Pack owned Communications Relay tower in a sketchy Chlorine Swamp. The Comm Relay is set on the Tarith System, and serves as a communications relay for the Blood Pack mercenary group which connects with the Lusarn system's various FTL comm buoys to link the planet to the greater galaxy. That said, this W2W corner office occupies a space of 1x1 SC4 tiles, has 24 floors and is pretty much the definition of the average pencil tower, which seem to be breaking out in the world's most modernized of cities. This building grows at stage 7-8, and are CO§§ and CS§§§. It also has two Landmark ploppables, one functional and the other non-functional. This BAT is available in both Maxis-nite and Darknite. It comes with two files for each night setting. Only one file should be used at a time, relative to your preferred night setting.   24. I'm having problems with Lot Editor running on Windows 8...it flickers like crazy and is practically unusable? There's no way for me to view Editor windows and lists since they're virtually gone and constantly flickering. Has anyone had this issue and solved it? I've only installed it again, and I've tried as solutions, Running compatibility to older versions, run on adminstrator mode, Run on a smaller resolution -- but nothing's worked so far. I've tried to read about it, but again, seems that the answer to this remains illusive. At least, to me.

    Just had to post this, not sure if anyone's ever picked up on this already, but I just figured that Mayhem Memorial Plaza from SC3KU may have taken some inspiration from Ikebukuro's Sunshine 60 Tower: Ha, couldn't get a higher res photo, so had to use an old SC3KU screenshot for my SC4 version of MMP
