Situated at a height of 8,660 feet above sea level, Bogotá is one of the world's highest capital cities and dates to 1538 when it was first founded by Spanish colonizers. Once the capital of the Republic of New Granada, over the years the city has transformed into a sprawling economic hub of nearly 8 million people. Today, it boasts one of the region's best skylines - which continues to grow upwards - and is home to some of the continent's most beautiful architecture as well.

Bogotá has a long history - by the mid 1600s, the city was starting to rapidly expand, and the city's valley and surrounding hillsides were beginning to be filled with colonial housing.

The impressive Bogotá Cathedral was opened in 1823 and was one of the world's largest cathedrals. Here we see a scene from the 1910s where the first electric streetcars could be found all across the city.

We now move into modern times with an overview of the iconic Monserrate mountain which towers above the city's skyline. The famed church on top is one of Bogotá's defining landmarks and can only be reached by cable car, climbing, or funicular.

A look at Bogota's modern skyline, where massive brick apartments and ongoing construction are a common sight in many parts.

The impressive BD Bacatá has been under construction since 2011 and is poised to become the country's tallest building - and is noted as being one of the world's first crowdfunded skyscrapers. Although economic issues have stalled its progress, here we see a glimpse into the near future to see the completed project.

Another one of Bogotá's ongoing construction projects is Torres Atrio - upon completion in late 2019/2020, these impressive towers will define the city's impressive skyline for years to come.

Ah, the sepia ! Wonderful entry -- as usual. It's interesting how the use of brick gives a visual harmony to that city. Even skycraspers don't clash in the scenery. Is the park in pic#2 local or handmade ? (or somewhere I can find it *;) ?)

Seems to be a mix of urban and village and typical south American style. Well not typical South America (edit).

How do you do the pre check on the cities? Google pics?

How accurate is this pics of yours on the cities? I've no idea in this case but Stockholm you nailed pretty much perfect. Not totally accurate here and there but that's no criticism, just noted.

Good work as usual.

8 million inhabitants, 2 million more and it's the entire population of Sweden!

And still we manage to be the best in the world?

Weird ;)

Just kidding.

@Toby66 For each place that I recreate, I'll spend at least a couple hours beforehand on Google Earth, Google Street View, and Google Images to make sure I know as much as possible about whatever place I'm recreating - and while I'm doing the recreation, I'll be checking them back and forth religiously to make sure I get every last possible detail down.

I can't get every place 100% perfect due to the lack of custom content, lack of time, and in game limitations.. but it's always fun to see how close I can get it to reality.

Thanks for the comment *:)
