Does anyone know where I can find some big city halls? I looked in another thread but they only linked to rural town halls.

Here's a thoroughly updated version of what has been previously available restoring the two larger additional Maxis City Halls:

Hi all. We found an empty ZIP file on Transistor-X's Car Pack upload (Link). It may have been missing since the original upload but wanted to check if anyone might have it or know something about it. Feel free to respond here or send a PM.

Thanks

I just started using the Simgoober Brick Canal set. I've use a different canal set in the past but decided to try this one for the lock system it comes with. I haven't quite figured out how to make nice clean looking crossings however. I think I am either doing it wrong or am missing a dependency that applies a base texture under the chosen roadway/railway. Anyone with more experience with this set know where I am going wrong? Thanks!

No, you're doing it right. That's the way rail looks when it butts up against something. Same with roads and streets- you get a sidewalk. Nothing with Maxis highways. There's also a 3 part bridge that comes with that set(L,R.Center). You have the sewer canal piece. Either work.

Hi All,

I can't really find any nice traditional clock towers for my city. I have the HK white and red one but that's about it. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Thanks Jacks, that's... Disappointing.

Do you or anyone have a suggestion of a canal set that has a cleaner looking highway bridge?

This one is also a clocktower although it was a defense tower at first.

If you can use LE, you can also try to make a relot from this one, although I can't promise that the clocktower is really a standalone prop (sometimes it comes as being part of the building).

Edit: Sorry, I just realized you already have the top one.

19 year old graphics will do that.

If I remember right, I believe that set has an add-on for rail and road draw bridges. Solves half the problem. You'll have this problem with most(or all) canal sets. As far as highway bridges, you could widen the bridge to 4 spaces and use overhanging plazas on each side, to fill the gaps. A trick I've used before- use a hole digger to dig a shallow trench and use a real bridge, but your land needs to be just above sea level.

A little less traditional than the other ones mentioned here, but one more that came to mind:

Yeah I definitely considered making a "real" canal as opposed to plopable. Still not not off the table. I'll look for those bridge add-ons and the overhang suggestion is great too. Do you have a specific 1x2 or 2x2 overhang in mind?

Goober Narrow canals !

Last NAM CAN AM animated canals with floating boats !

These animated boats are only very usefull on flat level canals, short urban passenger or freight traffic. Narrow canls, Oppie and japanese are excluded as thes are non animated, and static with no furthur transitions !                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              nmj  !

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

Hi @nightbird615

I noticed that most of your links are for NOB's items. If you check back on the preceding page a few posts up (Link), you'll see where @Tyberius06 posted a reference to an earlier post that lists several links to Japanese creators' items. The items by NOB and APTX should be able to be found using those.

As for the items by Kei and 211, their sites have either been taken offline or repurposed (at least the links I have). I'm almost sure Kei's things are available somewhere, but I can't seem to get there using the link I have. I'll keep digging...

It is an unfortunate fact that as the game ages, many sites have continued to go offline. Hopefully, others may have more clues on obtaining these things..

Edit: Found a reference to Kei's site... Tyberius posted it here (Link).

Also, there have been a couple lists compiled for Japanese creators: Simtropolis SC4Devotion  Keep in mind these lists were made a while back and many of the links won't work. Just a thought...

Most of Kei's stuffs can be found on Gobanboshi-san's website. Maybe someone @reg could ask Gobanboshi on twitter if it would be possible to recollect and release Kei's creations on STEX and or on LEX just to be on the safe side.

211's (Kandahra(211) or Morikawa Railway) website is still working, running and stuffs can be downloaded from there.

http://moritetsu.nobu-naga.net/simcity_build.html

I was meaning to collect all these update links including cload drive accesses and put them into one post, which can be pinned somewhere. Not just for websites, but creator's collections, like NOB, Kei, APTX etc... Although most probably all of NOBs models will be available on LEX in megapacks and the same for APTX and KS_JPN's creations. Though we will see. To much projects plus RL, and not enough time for everything.

@nightbird615

Mostly all APTX uploads can be found under this link:

http://hide-inoki.com/bbs/archives/sc4_0886.html

Ragu Taro's (HaS) own creations:

http://hide-inoki.com/bbs/archives/sc4old_01.html

Thanks for that! When '211' redid the site several years ago, I thought the SC4 link had been removed since the focus was on the railroad. Don't know how many times I must have looked right past it... *:???:
