@tariely Hi I am on XP with a Parallels partition (OSX Mavericks) and I was forced to reinstall SC4 Tools and PIM-X (with.dll) recently for no reason. No update since "ages" because Mavericks!! As they say in French "Va comprendre, Charles, va comprendre !" ("Go figure").

Does it work OK ? I upgraded from Yosemite to High Sierra, though -- quite a leap. PIM-X works, Reader and Lot editor work, DataNode works. SC4 Tools is the only obcurate one...

EDIT : someone elsewhere tells me privately that the 32/64 bits thing shouldn't affect Windows mounted on a partition )which I intuited, but what do I know ?!?)  ; seems to be the case, since the other programs are 32 bits (that I know of) and they do work...

Greetings!

I recently installed the Heretic Seaport, but whenever I try to plop the original  CDK3 (the ones with a 2D ship icon), SimCity crashes.

I have tried isolating the files, re-installing them, double-checked the Cleanitol, and still no luck.

Help?

@MrCanerican
Hi!

As the developer of the Heretic Seaport Project, I can tell you that the most probable cause might be "seaport controller conflict". The Heretic Seaport Project is a remake/reskin and expansion of the original PEG CDK3 and CDK3-SP lots, which actually means direct override version in the case of the 3 lots with actual seaport functionality. The PEG functional seaport lots (and therefore mine too) are using exclusively the PEG CDK3 MASTER SEAPORT CONTROLLER, and if there is any other seaport controller in you plugin folder (BSC Seaport Contoller or the really old and outdated Swamper77 Seaport Support file), that could cause crash-to-desktop issues.
If you installed the Heretic Seaports in the right way, then the original PEG CDK3 Seaport lots were overriden by my lots (the instruction says that you need to copy the ZZZZ_PEG SEAPORTS folder from the Heretic-PEG-CDK3-SP Seaports folder - which is directly in the *.zip - into your plugin folder. Since the original PEG seaports take place into this zzzz_PEG SEAPORTS folder, this would ensure my version of the lots to overwrite the original ones.).
You are not supposed to use both of them together (I mean the original PEG CDK3-SP functional seaports and my revision of them) in the same time, as the readme states this, warning the players of possible conflicts. You can either use the original lots (in which case the textures will missmatching with the other lots from the Heretic Seaport set) OR my version of them. In technically they are the same, I just changed the base and overlay texture set on them.

I hope it helps resolving the issue.

Hi Tyberius,

Thanks for your reply. I did follow the instructions and removed all the PEG stuff before I installed the new seaport. I went through and manually replaced all the PEG files, and the crashing stopped. Now I just get the lovely brown boxes on any of the props that are supposed to use original PEG:

5dc541c7a5a49_SimCity411_8_20192_18_53AM(2).png.2dcc51c0856c3cbbdfef61e0280e73c8.png

I've re-installed all the dependencies, but still get the box for some of the Seaport Lots (any of the ones that use original PEG stuff). Can't get that fixed...
Not sure why manually copying each file individually fixed the crashing, though.
UPDATE: I fixed this problem. I am pretty sure your STEX dependencies is missing the PEG-CDK3-SP_SEAPORT_SUPER-PAK.dat, and it seems to be required.
Alternatively, it was fixed with PEG_CDK3-SP_Pier-One_RESOURCE.dat or by installing the 1x lots from the CDK3 SeaPort. I think it was the first thing, but I'm not positive.

And since I have you, could you also shed some light on what would be causing this:

Whenever I try to do a map with 16 Large city tiles, the bottom of the tile gets that grey bar on it. Any ideas?

Thanks again.

It's a bug due to using higher resolution than Maxis ever dreamed of peeps having. Once you go above 1199 vertical it does that. It is only a graphical anomaly, but quite annoying. The only known solution is to drop down the screen size, open each city tile, re-save, and then exit. That'll fix up the thumbnail which the region view uses.

Hmmm.. I had a different list than this one. I used the dependency tracker in STEX, and when that failed, I found the list of dependencies on the forum. My mistake for not opening the word document...

If not the one from Corina (which seems to be version 1.0 of .net), v2 is at this link. Note x86 = 32Bit / x64 = 64-bit.

If you are still having troubles, a guide to enabling specific versions of .net is here. I recently needed to do this with Windows 10 and upon launching (or was it installing) the application, it just handled it all automatically. Not sure if Win8 can do that though.

Head over to my Lot and Mod Shack to keep abreast of my latest developments.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

New to the NAM? Check out my tutorials on YouTube. Latest upload: How to: RHW - MHO Roundabout Interchanges. (Nov 25).

p.s. - I'm MGB over on SC4D and a member of the NAM team.

WIth a little google and trial and error, I found the two dependencies:

SPF_Props.dat can be found in this upload.

The ADC_ParkingLot-textures2.dat can be found in this upload

EDIT: @kschmidt:
for this DarkNono36 Oklahoma Building, you actually do NOT need the above linked NDEX Parking Lots and the ADC_ParkingLot-textures2.dat. You need the SFBT Essentials (2015 - LEX or Simcitykurier versions ONLY) and the BSC Textures vol. 2. I just checked the lot with the SC4Tool and updated the dependency list on the download page with links now.

as I mentioned in Discord, I discovered a plugin backup from 2008. A quick spot check found several lots that are no longer on STEX I believe;  including the original Simpson's House Museum by DK.

There's a problem... I was new to the game and made a mess of my plugins folder. There's scads of loose files that should be in folders. At 1.3 gigs, it's just too much for me to sort through. Most of it is still on STEX, but I'm guessing that there may be buried prop or texture dependencies that are long gone.

How would I go about indexing it and passing it along for review?

This is a case where you are wanting to pass something along in an effort to help the community as a whole such that lost content could be restored. So, you can zip up your entire Plugins folder, use the free option at WeTransfer.com, and then post the download linky it provides here in the thread. The linky will expire in one week so only those immediately interested will grab a copy.

Along with said linky, adding a text list in your post for the ones which are missing from the STEX will help the peeps analyzing the files know which ones to look for. From there they can deduce which other files within the plugins need to go with them.

I'm making an admin decision that for this particular case it is ok to share your entire plugins folder in this way this time for this specific purpose.

Individual file name only makes one wondering what to look for, here the ever lasting request to Bat or Lot editors please gie some info about your sources or wich download may contain certain files. Most props probalbly in oe of the populair prop packs, there remain exceptions !

coolness thanks. I'm going to check another sampling and see if the ones most likely to be zombies can just be thrown to the crowd. I think I've got Simgoober's entire catalog (except for the Water Control Board, which has always been a brown box for me; even a decade ago). Pretty sure we all have that stuff :D

It looks as most of the mods are by mattb325 on the picture. Would someone be able to provide a list of the parks and park avenues that were used in the picture?
