For containment, as staff we've decided to move the dependencies questions to a new topic:

Anyone is welcome to post in there to answer any other questions @Sniffeh has.

This CFI thread can now return to a place for asking general quick questions about where to find custom content (not just limited to dependencies). We felt given the frequent volume of replies and frustrations boiling over, it might've discouraged others from asking questions. This way we hope normalcy is restored.

Thank you everyone. *:)

@Anung Un Rama That's a very old texture pack. It should've been consolidated into the SC4 Common Dependencies Pack  located here--https://www.sc4evermore.com/index.php/downloads/download/22-dependencies/3-sc4d-LEX-legacy-bsc-common-dependencies-pack/

I'm curious, do you happen to know the specific file we're looking for?

Diagonal RhW to Avenue transition ?

Saw this picture with a Rhw FAR & Avenue transition ? Any idea how to do that Rhw got a median larger than avenue and seperate lanes !

2ZnKnt4.jpg

Two situations Real RHW and Maxis overide here not present !

RMWcvxv.jpg

Maxis overide would work but that´s 45 dgr not a FAR curve ? Real RHW got the as mentioned got the wider median make a transtiton imposible !

Hope anyone know it´s a space saver in certain situations very usfull ?

Sincerely yours,

Kschmidt

@Anung Un Rama I'm not sure, but there are only three BSC Texture Packs, so it should be in one of them.

I've gotten curious enough to check and in the linked V9b pack I cannot find any reference to CNut (CityNut) files in the Cleanitol .txt file. So, it'll prolly have to be one of the other two.

Edit: I see I replied just a split second after Tibi did.

Cleanitol_BSC Textures vol03 v5.txt

This is what I was missing. In that text file I do see: BSC Texture Pack cnut Vol4.dat

which proves that BSC Textures Vol03 v5.dat is the replacement file needed. *:)

Hello @Anung Un Rama

The texture pack that you are looking for is a relatively old (17 years) texture pack, that does not exist anymore under this name and in this form. It was superseded by the first version of the BSC Textures Vol03 back in 2008, when this texture pack and many others were combined together into one single DAT file. The BSC Texutes Vol03 (just like its siblings Vol01 and Vol02) is a compilation of textures from BSC team members. This BSC Textures Vol03 has a bit different evolution than the other two and when we started re-storing the contents from the previous file exchange (SC4Devotion LEX) it received time to time new updates and in the current itteration of the BSC Common Dependencies package we have its fifth edition. So the file that you are looking for within the BSC Common Dependencies is the BSC Textures Vol03 v5.dat.

A pro-tip regarding old BSC related dependency contents: There are only 4 texture packs which covers more or less everything that the BSC Team had done during their active years until 2013-ish. These are the:

  • BSC Textures Vol01 (aka BSC Textures MEGA Pack or BSC MEGA Textures Pack - this is also an archaic naming for a texture compilation which contained dozens of separate texture related DAT files  - including several early PEG textures and CSX Textures among many others - and had not been available in this form after it got combined into the single texture pack that we know as BSC Textures Vol01)
  • BSC Textures Vol02 - it is a follow up compilation of early texture sets it also contain texture from the original BSC Textures MEGA Pack that did not fit into the Vol01. So it is safe to say if something in an old readme was referencing this BSC Textures MEGA Pack you will need either Vol01 or Vol02 or both of these BSC Textures compilations.
  • BSC Textures Vol03 (currently it has its 5th version aka v5) - this was an other follow up texture compilation containing originally texture sets that were created up until the end of 2008, but since we started re-hosting the old LEX contents and we started compiling the old BSC dependency packs into this BSC Common Dependencies compilation, it received various updates and eventually now contains as far as I know all the textures that were created by the BSC Team between 2008 and 2013/2014.
  • BSC TexturePack CycleDogg (it is referenced sometimes as V1 or V1b this is a version indication and highly unlikely that it will get ever any updates) - this is a single person texture compilation made by @CycleDogg, but due to its size it was never compiled with the other sets. It also doesn't contain textures from other members.

So in the future if you see a reference to a BSC texture pack it is 99.99% that you will find it in one of the BSC Textures Volumes either Vol01 or Vol02 or Vol03.

The prop dependencies are a bit more complicated to hunt down, but if you have a particular file that you are looking for and it is related to one of the former BSC members (you can read their usernames and their used initials in the readme of the BSC Common Dependencies), you can always open the Cleanitol_MASTER REMOVE LIST_BSC Common Dependencies Pack Version 9a.txt file which can be found within the ZIP of the upload in the ~Documents\Prop-Texture Catalogue Index and Cleanitol\ folders**.
Open this file with a notepad and use the search function typing either the full name or the part of the name of the dependency file that you are looking for. If you find that name or some kind of version of it in the list in the Cleanitol file, that means the BSC Common Dependencies pack contains the dependency that you are looking for even if it got repackaged or renamed over the years and now a MEGA Pack contains those dependencies. In the cleanitol script there is always a "header" for the replacement dependency pack and below it you will find the listed files that it replaces like this:

The dependency files that are replacing some older files also have their own single cleanitol script which you can find in the cleanitol subfolder like this:

Cleanitol_BSC Textures vol03 v5.txt

I hope this helps you and others to locate and find out where the old dependencies got stored over the years.

EDIT for additional information: so for example if you see a reference to BSCBATProps Gascooker Vol 08.dat that means it is belong to Gascooker and he has MEGA Prop Packs. You can check the master cleanitol text file and see if this file is listed there. You might find references using short names or initials like this: GC_Flowermarket.dat. IF you check the readme of the common dependencies and search for the "GC" it will tell you, that GC is also Gascooker. So there is a hight possibility that you will find this dependency in one of his MEGA Prop packs.

Thank you. As someone who is new to these mods, I'm not very familiar with their age or history. I only recently discovered that there are mods available for the SimCity 4, and I think that's awesome. I'm really looking forward to making my cities feel more realistic.

@SneakyDeaky suspects we will delete their post for including the GIF from the Groundhog Day movie, but we felt it was funny and will leave it.

So yeah, no worries. We are happy to move forward. *;)

Ok. I'm all for fun too, but let's wrap up this off topic part in one more post each and then let the thread get back to its regular Can't Find It purpose. *;)
