Thank you CB and Dirk for seeing this through! *:ducky:

I'll also add that performance is significantly better for me too across the board.

That's great ! Some pages migmight be split up like Showcase, Clubs, City your als already have a seperate page so why list everything on  the homepage. Exchange, aswell split category in dedicated pages to increase performance. Last year speed wasn't very. well so Congratulations to Smytopolis staff !

Today I've been trying to upload a new file to the STEX and every time I try adding pictures I get the following message:

Oops this is funny, I just tried to upload here a screenshot of the message but in doing so I got the same message again! So I'll just paste it instead:

"There was a problem with processing the uploaded file.

Please try again as this is most likely caused by an intermittent error, uploading a file greater than 2 MB in size, or you may have reached your local Attachments Quota.

Please contact us for assistance."

Now, the pictures I was trying to upload are all small JPGs as usual, and I am far from having reached my attachment quota (about 115 out of 1000).  Does someone please know what is going on? Thank you.

I'm going to guess we caused it. *:blush:  CB was working on attachment security stuff and that might've borked something. He'll likely be on later today and can delve into it.

In the meantime: Oops, we apologize for the inconvenience.

Edit: And it's the same for me too.

Just in case it helps narrow things down a bit I was uploading images as attachments yesterday (practically 24 hours ago) and it was fine - now, not so much... *;)

Of course , if the exact cause is known, please ignore this... *:D

That matches up as the tweaking borking would've been about 15ish hours ago. I, myself, don't know the exact cause, but now that we know there is a problem (and it's not permissions level related), CB'll prolly be able to go peek, say something about fudge, and then fix it. *;)

@justforfun and @CaptCity

Ok. So it wasn't CB's fault at all. Just somehow the server got its knickers in a twist and was tossing that error for everyone when uploading any pics. Any other file types weren't affected. He smacked the server around a few times, restarted it,  and now the problem seems to be resolved.

Ofc, let us know if it's still being recalcitrant.

Just gave it a tiny test (same one that did not work before), and this time image was happily uploaded.

the Home tab button doesn't work when in messages. The home button in the small chain below the tabs does work. (Red doesn't work green does work)

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

What I see are submenu's omitted under Android OS. As a touch screen choose content item a second the list is shown directly going to recent posts list ? STEX Exchange same go to the general list ? Android search makes this more difficult from directory view!

Sincerely yours,

Kschmidt

    Wth is this?

    It's not a bug. This is a new experimental site feature. *;)

    The index of Popular and Recommended sections allow viewing a directory of site pages which are commonly visited or upvoted.

    Seeing some oversized text and images site-based today

    That really is most odd, and I've not noticed this (yet) personally. Does it help if trying a Ctrl+F5 to force refresh the browser's cache?

    It seems like perhaps the page CSS styles aren't loading to be applied properly, which then prevents those icons sizing to their correct scale.

    @JulioC

    I suppose we could leave it and call that an easy access route to the forums index... :whatevs:

    In all seriousness, that was a side effect from a code adjustment I made last week. I didn't realise it'd end up redirecting to the forums index that way.

    Thanks for the heads up! All fixed now.

    The earlier "blob" upload issues should now be resolved. It was caused by a failed upgrade of the file uploader module. The old one was from 2017 and it had been erroring out with larger files. I updated that to the latest and greatest and thought we were good to go. However, we weren't. :O

    The reason I didn't know immediately is since Cloudflare cached the original script. This meant the tests I did initially worked, but were actually still using the old version.

    So I've now reverted it to a version which seems to work, and renamed the paths to force it to update (and bypass Cloudflare's cache).

    Can a hard reset of the cloudfire cache be performed? Because if you can do it then can you fix the text toolbar as it is not working properly?

    While we have free reign over the server with true root access, we don't have the keys to Cloudflare. Only Dirk has that since it's a business account covering other endeavors of his. And he's out of touch for a while.

    Yes. Yes, it can be. We were able to get in touch with Dirk and he initiated that at 9:45am EST. *:)

    @Jidan

    Please bear with me. I'm currently testing new code logic to fix the file feeds, but it isn't working properly right now.

    Update: Fixed it! *:party:

    I don't know if this is because of IPS update or not. But I see icons in the account menu now (also it's also got an icon)
