This was my region when I started Teiko Metropolitan Area around two months ago...

 

 

After how many days of individual city planning and regional assessment as a whole. This is the newest satellite shot of Teiko Metropolitan Area with population still pegged at around 949,031.

 

 

Notice that island in the middle? That's what you call massive land reclamation. As you see there are still many places for growth and development. I'm just wondering what would happen to my CJ when all those lands are finally filled.. 

 

Akashi Global City is the one at the bottom center with isolated tall buildings. Looks like the coming economic crises will bring this land development into a hiatus.

These before and after shots are awesome!  I especially love the ones that show just a bit of RHW interchange and then super expansion.

 

I had a pretty industrial heavy city some time back.  I think I tore the whole thing down and got rid of population, now the area has double the amount of industrial business.

 

The most up to date picture I have.  Theres a bunch of suburb development south of this, but that must have been a much later development.

It started as this;

 

 

Highways are paved, and the CBD starts to take shape on the river mouth;

 

 

but after some (minor) terrain changes, steep mountain roads and general development on the delta it has come to this;

 

 

(I actually have a .TIF file of the final image but I chose not to upload it because its over 80mb! This compressed .jpeg is still 5mb so beware!)

Excellent job of squeezing every bit of utility out of what looked like a tricky terrain.

After a couple minutes of scanning this section, I've been unable to find a topic like this. It kind of surprises me. I can't be the only one willing to show the results of a tweak, right?

 

These tweaks could be anything. edits made to your BATs, buildings replaced in your city, a widened highway or just about anything you feel pleased with. Or, if you're not sure, you can ask other members for their opinions.

 

To start things off, I have a picture of a building in Rourke that was demolished in 2012. Part of the reason was half of it being abandoned. Part of it was the fire hazard it posed. Part of it was that many inhabitants of the city found it an eyesore that ruined the small skyline it had. Anyway, it was demolished. What's left now is an empty lot, but architecture firms from around the world are dropping tons of proposals of what to do with it.

This is an old one, but I'm still quite proud of it (especially since I hate changing stuff once it's there). I extended a railway to this city of 100.000 people.

You should be. That new intersection is beautiful, and the railway just makes it a bit mire realistic. Good job!

I already posted them in a different topic but here are some region before/after pics of my current wip after applying a tree controller combination finding:

except the valley in the lower left side which I intentionally changed to have less/no trees, all changes in the flora are a result of the combined tree controllers and I really love the result!

I always felt like something's off in this region (next to the lack of city) but couldn't really put my finger on it. Now I know what it was, just the trees.

A small road going to nowhere in particular in 1992, enjoyed mainly by sunday drivers or people going on family picnics.

 

The same road in 2014. Or at least it's replacement. A large industrial area has grown out a few miles down the road during the last twenty-three years.

The rail tunnel? Just extended it, comes out a few tiles to the left of the picture.

I thought about fixing the rail interchange for smoother slopes and whatnot, but I decided to leave the way it was for a reference point.
