@kingofsimcity It took a bit, but I found them:

They are pretty old, but seem to have aged well. Taking a look at Metarvo's article on the topic, it appears that city orientation is key in some weird way, and it makes you wonder how much got axed, like all the other really cool stuff that we can't use. Maybe Simmaster07 will find a way to re-enable some of the code hooks? (The code for alternate style terrain comes to mind, as does the water and weather simulation.

At least the moisture simulation works, and when the terrain controller is configured to enable it, the terrain textures change month to month, according to changes in moisture.

Now I'm using NHP San Faraway terrain mod, and is very noticeable how this changes occur. I'll post some images of it if you want.

By the way, what's that alternate terrain thing? Sounds interesting.

The moisture simulation appears to be a shadow of its former self. There are flags in the game referencing at least a functioning statistical hydrological simulation, meaning that you would be able to define the start of rivers and streams.

The rain tool is a leftover remnant of stuff that Maxis left in. It raises the moisture level of the ground a certain amount, and when the ground gets too moist, it floods and gets covered by water. Lowkee tried to use the leftovers to create seasonal snow textures, but ultimately got tired of how both predictable and unpredictable the simulation was in this regard. For instance, wind blows (yes, wind) from the East to the West, IIRC, and cycles across from the south. Simulation speaking this meant that the Southeastern slopes were always the driest, even if they were cold, and this caused disparities in the region view snow accumulation (reflected in the city tile, but obviously less noticeable when you can't see the neighboring city).

If you look at the INI tables for the terrain mod (any one), you will see that there is a table for Desert, Tropical, Temperate, and Arctic, but all except for Tropical (?) is commented out. Trying to re-enable the others doesn't appear to do anything. The terrain INI has a whole bunch of other interesting comments, none of which appear to do anything significant, including the reference to two different cliff textures (High Cliff, and Low Cliff) along with a bunch of stuff that talks about the hydrology simulation and water sources "placed by the player". Loads of interesting stuff, all chopped before final delivery.

About the low cliff, it seems that CP Italia terrain indeed uses this. In fact, the controller file includes a texture that appears on the low end of a cliff, like crumbled earth (while all  of the other textures used are in separate dependencies)

Been there, seen that... In real life:

This one was a strike against the change of the busses' system, a solution that ended being worst than the original problem.

Well, both systems had their deficiencies: the yellow buses were chaotical on its organisation, very dangerous to use (drivers raced each other to catch passengers, because their income was based the number of tickets given), inefficient (most bus services were redundant) and very polluting (as most bus owners were small entrepreneurs, they hadn't the economies of scale to replace or refurbish old buses); while the newer Transantiago is monopolistic by design, permanently insufficient (on the moment of implementation the number of buses fell by 40% and is just recovering now), badly designed (non radial services almost disappeared, forcing users to reach the city centre to go from one peripheral borough to other) and systematically disfunctional (it overloaded the metro network to the double of its designed capacity).

While most of the worst problems have been partially resolved (and ironically, the best operators are Metbus and STP, which are former yellow buses owners'associations), people became so distrusting of buses, almost everyone avoids them, preferring the metro or even taxis (that's why Uber is such of a boom on the city by now).

If you're still interested, a friend from secondary school (yes, I've been nerding about cities for a long time) has an specialised blog about transportation, and has investigated extensively about this.

Hey , if anyone knows why that happened please let me know . That Simcity Lanes is a growable , not a plop or landmark . IDK o.O

I thought about this, and am still thinking about it because though I've thought about this, I still have more thinking to do as to stop thinking about it would mean not to think.

@Haljackey: Have you heard a plop sound before seeing this? If yes, maybe you have an old, buggy building. I hate it when it happens.

Nope. Everything you see in that photo was 'grown', not 'plopped'.
