Because I like IKEA, I also have to have an IKEA store. Since we have three in Hamburg, I could choose one. I decided to go to Hamburg Moorfleet because you can park there on the roof. Not finished yet and still missing some details. Will be 14x6 big

I like the building, it's nice and the rooftop parkings is a nice touch too. I only would have one request if it was possible. When/IF you release it, could you release a version without the baked-in base textures (and possible without those trees around the parking ramp spiral)? Anyhow you've already made a pretty good work with it!

I did not really want to make a release. The building is in Hamburg, because I thought that is not really useful for others. But if you want it anyway, it's no problem to make a version without the basetextures and trees..
What I'm asking is: should I leave the parking deck empty?

This is some clever stuff... I have never seen such thing, I mean in this kind of design, but I like it!
About the Ikea. It looks great. I think it's up to you whether you want cars on the roof parking or not. Maybe it would be better putting some cars there, because otherwise it looks empty. I know there are methods to make very tight custom LODs, which would allow 3rd parties (after the model had been successfully exported) to place extra props on the top of the building in LOT editor or PIM-X (I think some had some experiment on this field recently, but not sure if that person was @JP Schriefer or @kellydale2003), but I don't know how and if it would worth the effort at all.

Anyhow, thank you for showing the new IKEA model. There is a similiar IKEA in Budapest (well I think there are at least 2-3 IKEA in and around Budapest) I think, but I haven't been there for a while. I think this model would worth a release anyway! Quite usefull that we have nice variety of buildings like this.

I'd love to have it, with or without cars ( I was wondering how they get up and down from there --and then I realized what the round thingie with the orange roof was for. OK, my bad ! ) The glass roof windows, on the triangular part, are a very nice touch !)

Come and visit. We got home made cookies. http://community.simtropolis.com/journals/journal/5386-pr-crastinas-travels-sc4/

By the way, we also have cookies at Tariely's Little Shop of Relots (and Lots)

Right, the round thing is the driveway to the roof. Real, the building is a bit bigger but 14 fields seemed to me to be big enough. This is the aerial photo I worked for.

Well crap! Anyone have any thoughts on what happened here? All of my textures have unique IDs and show up correctly in the Lot Editor but in-game is another matter. Seems like the game is only reading the first texture ID in the .dat file. *:???:

I think this is caused by multiple base textures placed on top of another on the same tile (in this case the grass texture is on top of the dashed line so you only see the grass texture ID in Lot Editor). I would try deleting all the base textures on the incorrect tiles then put the grass texture back again.

I made a new video showing new highways and areas being developed before heading in and out of the big city. Existing highways traveled on in previous videos have also been expanded to handle the increasing growth of the region.

Plus, while I'm batting a round of hotels, I decided that we shouldn't forget the suburban stuff....

I gave it a slightly more moody green colour scheme than we are used to seeing in SC4 buildings....

Hopefully we will get more hotel! Thanks a lot!

    @Goldman Sachs

Almost all of the rigging you need on a predreadnought warship is visible in the picture of the Gangut Class battleship -- mostly signaling halyards and flagstaffs -- possibly some wireless rig.  Nothing as complicated as a sailing ship of the line.

Posing crew figures would be a very basic task.  Many walking along the deck -- some coiling cables -- some standing and holding onto various railings -- some climbing ladders or stairs -- some command figures on the open bridge structure -- a couple taking instruction from an officer and saluting.  Pop a war movie into the DVD player if you need more inspiration.

In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed.  But they produced Michael Angelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, and The Renaissance.

In Switzerland, they had brotherly love and five hundred years of peace.  And what did that produce?

    The cuckoo clock !
