Hello everyone,

Thought I would show off my Oil Depot. I play my Regions in a Sandbox method. Hope you enjoy these pics from my Lyman Region.

Covid-19 lockdown in the UK means more time for SimCity 4.

Here are some pictures of Travis City, a quick city I'm working on as I get back to working on Cindersville and New York.

The idea is an American style city higher up where's there always coniferous forest. In this city tile the flatlands are to the north and the hills are in the south.

I'm going for an even spacier style with the suburbs.

Towards the centre of Travis City ("City" it's not, more like the size of a town!) the housing density increases as industrial buildings emerge.

 

The hilly south will have some villages.

 

Making the most of the Sudden Valley terrain mod and the ARDEN tree controllers- best results in high terrain elevations and slopes! I don't even need to MMP any more!

Tonight's project. As well as finally organizing my props for Mega Prop Pack 2, and my small shops, and also a new gas station set, I'm going to resurrect the Checkers-Schucks-Kragen auto parts chain, which got bought out in 2009 by O'Reilly.

Like I said, Checkers, Schuck's, and Kragen Auto Parts once ruled the west coast of the US with over 1200 locations. Now they are coming back in SimCity form.

Local Highway 85 is the extension of Scenic Highway 85, starting at the intersection with Primary Highway 6 (left to right) in the farmlands of Balfour. Going west (upper right of view) to east (lower left of view), it will provide a more direct connection with the town of Mayfield.

 

 

Meanwhile in Mayfield, the seemingly steep slopes bounding the Balfour River were no match to the ingenuity of highway engineers, surveyors and builders!

 

 

Local Highway 85 enters from the southwest, across a small village, before its swift crossing of the farm fields...

 

 

...or the triumphant crossing of the Balfour River, with the help of the Roses of May bridge! And after that it terminates in Primary Highway 4, where travelers can go to either Mayfield or Cameran.

 

 

In the town of Volus, Secondary Highway 59 was extended across the Crystal River and the Lake Platinum Branch railway, reaching all the way to the dam of Lake Silver. The alignment has a bonus scenic element, in a direct view of the Wooloo Fleece Falls! Meanwhile, Secondary Highway 93 makes its winding north-south journey between the agricultural lowlands of Volus (right side, off view) and the rolling hills of Scorbo (left side, off view).

 

 

Once we cross over into Scorbo, Secondary Highway 93 takes a more direct route over the Cameran-Wellesley Railway's eastern terminus, to intercept Secondary Highway 90.

 

 

This road is especially welcomed, as it provides a more direct journey between Grokus (left, off view) and Scorbo (lower right), along with opening fertile farmland in the middle course of the Crystal River. Additional agricultural developments are anticipated!

 

 

In full and eager anticipation for the Kingdom of Rota International Airport, the city of Zamacentia petitioned for the construction of a direct road link to the magnificent air travel facility! The Ministries of Infrastructure gave them Secondary Highway 49, a fairly direct and scenic approach path for terrestrial travelers wanting to soar in the skies!

 

 

To ensure safe passage in the bumpy and densely forested mountains, crash barriers were installed to shield the start of the steep slopes, while a wildlife crossing maintains habitat connectivity on either side of the thoroughfare.

 

 

Meanwhile, Zamacentia may expand agriculture just a bit more with the access provided by this facility.

Wow, Hi nyvsc4, Are you lived in Vancouver? This is my favorite! I have been to there couple of times, but I couldn't recall that its station was also so beautiful, Maybe since rarely looked down into it. I remembered I had downloaded a revetment Lot of it.

Hey thanks!  I actually live in Missouri...I'm just using Vancouver's map and building my own city based on some of Vancouver's planning and design principals.  Livability, walkable, good transit access, no freeways in the urban core (the highway seen here is actually the Stanley Park Causeway...not a freeway), etc.  It's not a recreation...nor is the airport.  Just my own creations on Vancouver's map, slightly influenced by the real thing.  The station is just another one of @mattb325 fantastic creations.

It's not a texture. It's a ploppable texture and it's Bipin's Industrial Roads. Found in his Industrial Essentials pack.

I think I'm the only one here who extensively uses it, I'm surprised more people don't use it.

Aye, I had tried to replace some rocks's texture of Terrain Mod as well, but I failed due to the granite-like texture stretched ugly when I raised the height of the mountain. I hope Goldman Sachs can deal with it.
