Donato's Pizza

MCDONALDS-DONATOS.JPG

578.jpg

Description:

Donatos is a family-owned pizza company with more than 150 locations in nine states. It was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1963 by Jim Grote.

Donatos Wikipedia Page

Why this would be beneficial for the game or community:

Pizza lovers can add another cool pizza chain into their cities adding CS§§ to the game.  Shops are fairly small in size, so they would take up as much room as any other restaurant  chain currently in development.

Edificio Cruz del Sur (Av. Apoquindo 4501 - Santiago, Chile)

cp14.jpg

Designed by Luis Izquierdo and Antonia Lehmann and built between 2008-2009, the Cruz del Sur building appears to defy gravity with its inverted pyramidal shape, devised to maximise the free ground space for commercial uses and to optimise the scarce underground area available (just asi1259783999-dsc-0633.jpgde the huge Escuela Militar station of the 1 Line).

The strange shape, which includes rectracted glass panes and no interior columns, also allows the slabs at each floor to shade upon the windows of the inferior one, helping the efficiency of the overall design.

To achieve the stylised forms on the pylons that down to the shank, the builders used a particularly fluid concrete mix, and casted the entire radial structure at the same time. Thanks to its anti-seismic design, it endured the 2010 earthquake without damage, as the floors literally overhang the solid core of the structure:

corte-3-16.jpg

Even if not very tall (it has 22 floors), this building surely catches the eye, aided by its location just along the expanse of an expressway cloverleaf interchange, making it a clear landmark of the surrounding area.

I want a giant statue of Furby...

No, this isn't a joke, I actually really want a big statue of Furby as the centerpiece of my capital's park.  I made one back in the SC2000, but the technology has gone beyond me by this point.

Would any kind BAT talents be so kind as to re-create the "Community Garden" lot (I have no idea why it's called that when it's a fountain) and the standard buyable/ploppable Fountain from SimCity 3000 for use in SimCity 4? They were some of my favorite bits from the game, I like fountain lots in general, and if anyone makes them you'll have my gratitude.

Everyone probably knows what they look like already, but here's pictures of both for well, the sake of reference. (However, I can upload more proper screenshots later if need be.)

Thank you all in any event!

Those paths look a lot like what @tariely is doing right now, but the multi-level fountains... I haven't seen any like those

I'm actually surprised if there aren't any in the STEX. I know about the default fountain props in the game but they aren't very big.

I always thought SimCity 3000 has some of the best individual buildings and filler lots in the series, and the fountains and various brick plazas (for lack of better term) seen in high-wealth residential zones always stood out to me.

I'd like to see a remake of SimGoober's Modern Warehouses but in a more realistic size such as an 8x8 or 10x10

What about relotting it with some warehouse props around? Many RL industries build that way...

@matias93 What kind of props in particular?

The problem with goober's warehouse models is that goober made growable lots as his primary focus and and plopable lots we're tacked on at the end, so everything was done with a 6x6 framework and thus certain lots were scaled much smaller than the should be.

uhh, dunno, maybe Cogeo's warehouses if you don't mind the shipping companies' brands on them?

As his team-mate I can attest that statement's not 100% accurate; at that time - 12 years ago - it was a lot more complicated to make larger lots and the big 8x8 (and upwards) lots were still quite a novelty. SG was just making what would be easy to use for the average player. It was also quite a bit more involved to make ploppable lots with jobs back in the day, so it's unlikely that these were just added as an after-thought.

But for your issue, I recommend using the model file contained in the download and just make a new building exemplar as well as a prop exemplar in the PIM-X; these warehouses will neatly butt up against each other so you could make a very large homogeneous lot indeed which the PIM-X will do very easily.

I'm curious if anyone is interested in making this puppy for SC4?  This is an awesome looking building and I think it would great in the game.

EDIT:  Forgot to give the name of the building.  It's 53 West 53rd Street.

I think AndisArt worked on that. Let's see how it fits into SC4, I am not sure it would look nice due to the shape of the building. *:???:

I knew something was different about things back then, I guessed wrong ><.

Unfortunately @mattb325, you have a great idea with upscaling the building, but I never could get PIM-X to work on my PC :(

I think it would look great, but you guys are the experts at this, so I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I got my fingers crossed.  I just like the look of that building, it's not the same ol' same ol' as most boxy highrises like the original twin towers.  I like uniqueness and things that stand out.  53 West 53rd Street definitely stands out from the rest of buildings around it.

I would like to request The 277 Park Avenue in New York. It's a perfect building of mid-century modern! :)

I've seen that one modelled for the game, but I cannot remember if it was one of the unfinished buildings of the NYBT International Month or something released by @Darknono35

EDIT: DK35's building is a neighbouring one, 605 3rd Avenue, and it doesn't look really different to the untrained (mine) eye:

I just downloaded the file and had a look; he has made both building and prop family exemplars in the dat file. All you would need to do is select both these (building file and prop family file 0xa000091d) from the family button and arrange them on the lot editor (limited to a 6x6 size).

Without the PIM-X, you could make a large lot by using the reader (recommended) or you could use an existing large IHT lot that someone else has done the hard work with (not recommended, it is better to start clean) and replace the building file that way.

However, at this late stage in the game & if you are seriously wanting to use custom content, I would strongly recommend trying to get the PIM-X to work. There are a lot of technical people who can help over on SC4D if you post the error messages that you receive when trying to install the PIM-X.

I'd like to see more classic ballparks.  We have The Polo Grounds and Ebbets, but there are still so many to choose from.

Shibe Park is one I'd like to see.  There's something so ornate about it.

It would be even more awesome if it were light-rail enabled.

Also, still would love to see someone make that Furby statue I suggested on the last page.  I'd think it would be incredibly easy.
