Lawyer Cat has been at it again. There has been a big fuss over in the Theater District of the capital...

As Lawyer Cat approached the entrance, he was accosted by a group of feline petitioners and asked to take a petition from them to the Supreme Wirdle as well.The petition was from the felines in the capital and is directed toward the humanoids in the National Capital Region. He agreed to carry the petition in with him.

The Wirdleplex: Fishing Trip

Welcome to Pawprint Lake! This lovely settlement sits on the largest lake in southeastern Schulmania. The lake earned its name for its uncanny resemblance to a pawprint. The Wirdleplex has been in dire need of recreational facilities. And the Bureau of Feline Affairs has decided to meet this need with a vacation getaway featuring great fishing and good times. The city is served by road connection to New Wirt and Glenvar. And it is the pride and joy of the Town Administrator, Sir Edward Scissorpaws. There’s more to like than just the luxurious accommodations and great views – fine dining and great activities are all close by and ready to serve guests. Come, let’s see the town!
 

The town sits along the north shore of the lake, which is the source for the Little Wirdleonia River. Inexplicably, city planners added a canal along the northern boundary of town. The most likely explanation is that they wanted a place for paddleboats and fishing from one’s chaise lounge.
 

Long week at work? Hard day at school? Getting nagged to do chores around the house? Time to do something about it! Ready for a fishing trip? I know I am!
 

 

One great place to stay is the Masonic Hotel. It's right by the canal and has a great restaurant inside.
 

Perhaps you would prefer the delightful canalside charm of Beaureece Inn?
 

I think I will go to The Lodge at Pawprint Lake. The largest hotel in town, The Lodge has every room as a luxury suite and free Admiral brand chocolates on your pillow every day. There's also the great courtyard cafe, Jake's Joint, home of the finest in fresh wild game and waterfowl... served with a furry smile and unlimited saucers of milk.
 

The Lodge also operates the paddleboat rentals. Rental is 2 purrs, but guests staying at The Lodge get half price. The paddleboat concession has been awarded to the local transit operator Mom's Taxi, LLC. Mom's Taxi offers transportation to and from school, practices, games, fun places and more -- all for a great price -- and often NOT in a minivan!

As we pass by the Civic Center on our way to get fishing gear, we see the police chief, Aidan Distress, waving to us from his window. He's such a friendly fellow!
 

On to the Colonnade Shopping Center to get fishing poles, lures, and most importantly - hats! No one is a true fisherman until they have a cool fishing hat!

Let's take a gondola on the canal back to the hotel...
 

Rides are free, thanks to the good folks at the Pawprint Lake Chamber of Commerce!
 

It is a scenic ride


Feel free to fish while you are in the boat!
 

Be sure to stop by the Fisk Marketplace to pick up some stuff to go with the freshly caught fish. We'll take what we catch over to the church for the big fish fry on the grounds. So, we need some tasty items to bring with the fish.
