Great CJ Fox. I was following SMI a little and I it always was always very inspiring to me. Now, Alicante City looks amazing. I like your use of trees (especially jeronij's ones), the way you place them bewteen lots and buildings makes it very lively and realistic. Also your building style and city layout (e.g. industrial buildings next door to residential buildings)  are very realistic. Oh, and you always surprise me with BATs I've never seen before (e.g. Cauley Sports Field on page 4, beautiful setup btw).

EDIT: Welcome to page 6!

threeswept ... Thanks for a great comment. I'm really glad this update was a hit, I wasn't too sure when taking the pictures.. but I guess it turned out great. My citizens seem to be happy, cause they rate me around 117% in some parts of the Region.

gerAndi ... Thanks my friend for the comment. I look forward to the Werber textiles hitting the exchange, and a few other goodies you might have up your sleeve. 29.gif  Once again, I must point out, that it does look similar to SMI, because it is the Capital of St Marque Inlet... As for the park... No that is as far as it will be developed, as it is fully developed around that area now.

Bombastix ... I'm glad you believe I could capture something that sounds so great... I just do my best, your imaginations allow the realism to be seen... Thanks for the comment too.

cowcorn ... Thanks... I've been playing around with those for awhile now... thought I'd better get them in there, since my Region is supposed to be part Asian influenced.

Wolf_pt ... I appreciate the the effort you took to come and view and leave a comment here.. thanks.

collgab ... Thank you also for the uplifting comment. I hope you enjoy the next update just as much as the rest.

    jacqulina ... Another comment...lol... I appreciate it.

PhilsCafe ... Thanks for the awesome comment.. I'm really glad you enjoyed St Marque Inlet. I always regret not getting the amount of comments there that I would of here... oh well. I appreciate the fact that you leave such detailed comments.. really great to see... It helps to keep me inspired and puts a smile on my face. Keep an eye out for more updates as I will no doubt post something that not many people have seen before... I have an interesting asortment of bats collected from many different sites...

Thanks for all the great comments guys.. I really appreciate it... Hopefully I will get a Region picture up soon.

Welcome to page 6 everyone and enjoy!

Hey Fox, great work I love the Queen's Park and the harbor, oh the nice feature on the base of the bridge, the way you designed that intersection right before it. Oh please about the flag, I just meant it is not of Brazil (The brazilian flag), but part of it, it's the same thing if I get the Victoria, NSW, WA and so on, as the Australian Flag, but please there's no problem and you're really welcome anytime.

sloppet ... Thanks for the comment and the congratulations... page six... never thought it would have reached this far so quickly... thanks everyone.

rooker1 ... Thanks, glad you liked it. I hope you do come back, cause I have alot of pictures to come... hopefully better than what's been posted already from Alicante City...

Fabiocb ... Thanks for the comment and the clarifaction... I didn't mean to cause any offence or controversy..lol... but thanks for the infromation. Thanks for the comments too... I really appreciate it.

guculs ... Hmmmm... such an interesting comment... I really do't know what to say... I don't think I'll be destroying my City just yet..perhaps in the future when I get bored I might initiate an Earthquake or something, but not right now.... If you wanna see mayhem, be sure to check out my older City journal called ...  Foxenburg  ... It suffered a great disaster... Earthquake demolished half the City and a great fire claimed almost the other half of it... Near the bottom of page 2.

Binho_Astronomy ... Hey... thanks for dropping by, I'm really happy to see you here, and thanks for the comment at both sites.

Now... on with the update... 3.gif

In the Center of Alicante City, in the heart of the Downtown, this old building is one of the orginal courthouses built by Colonial City Officials, today it is being replaced with a much larger, more modern building...It now is a museum...

    Old%20City%20Courthouse%20AC%2002.jpg

    Old%20City%20Courthouse%20AC%2001.jpg

Here is the start of the construction of the new Courthouse... named the Clifford Building, after one of the most influential judges to serve Alicante City and uphold the law...

    Clifford%20Building%20AC%2002.jpg

    Clifford%20Building%20AC%2003.jpg

Along side the new courthouse is a hotel called Freeman Hotel, a very modern glass building with a unique shape that stands out in the City. It's location on the Central Park of Alicante City allows the Hotel to be rated as one of the best in Alicante City.

Now... ofcourse no City is complete unless it has a transit network.. here is one of the larger rail stations in Alicante City ... Helsinki Station ... it services the suburbs of Penton and Embassy Point, as well as the outer areas across the bay...

Excellent work Fox - I really love the downtown area...the segregation of high density with parks and lower densities near transport, very Australian! And of course, prepo's Helsinki station... Wow!

dale_bel ... Thanks for the interesting comment... I'm glad you are enjoying my City Journals pictures so far.

mattb325 ... Thanks once again for a great comment. I think that the Helsinki Station is a very beautiful bat, although I think it needs more greenery around it...hehe. Thanks for the feed back about the transport too.

GMT ... Thanks for commenting once again, I appreciate it. More updates comming soon, and more construction pics on the way too...

Leech10 ... Thanks Leech...looking forward to seeing more from you too. By the way, what has happened with the Myon CJ? Is it officially over or is it still going?

threeswept ... That's what I was hoping for... a view from every window in the City... Well they can all see some sort of greenery in any case. I like to have everything green. Thanks for leaving a comment too, I know you are busy with RL syndrome, but I appreciate the time to come here and post... thanks.

gerAndi ... Lol.. always creating new words eh gerAndi ... that one I like though... Thanks for stopping by and I hope you accept my proposal in my CJ thread...  2.gif

Rayden ... Thanks for the comment, and thanks for providing that link... that is correct the blue and yellow building is infact GasCookers Ikea store ...

mightygoose ... Thanks for the great comment. You'll find that building in the link above ...

Thanks everyone so far for such a wonderful response ... more updates are in the works and on the way... so stay tuned...

Now... Some might know I used to create a newspaper for SMI... well it's been revived for this one of situation that is occuring as we speak ... Some of you might know that Typhoon Chanchu is heading for the Coast of China as we speak... it was due to hit Hong Kong head on... but has changed direction in the last few hours and is heading directly at St Marque Inlet .. although the path is thought to be moving slightly further East of the Nation. Tonight everyone is seeking shelter for the storm that is going to hit, and hope for the best that loss of life is minimal and that damage to the Cities are also minimal...

So...with out further mumbling... here is a shortened version of the SMI newspaper ...

    SMI%20Newspaper%2030.jpg

Here are some other details that might prove useful... Satelite imagery of the typhoon...

    Weather%20Watch%2001.jpg

The path the typhoon is predicted to follow...

    Weather%20Watch%2002.jpg

Thanks for watching so far... may the Gods be smiling on the citizens of St Marque Inlet tonight and tomorrow ... as well as the Chinese and Hong Kong citizens in the path of the typhoon.

Fox you are so welcome for the comments: my pleasure, in fact...my only fear is that I'll fast run out of superlatives to describe what I see - it is always inspiring!

I hope the typhoon doesn't cause to much damage!

Though I think storms are very sad and tragic, I am looking forward to this storm since well...it's SimCity, and no one's bound to get hurt right? This is such a breathtaking city.

While the City Journal is actually imaginary .. Typhoon Chanchu is actually real... and it is battering the coast of China as we speak...

I like to bring real World events into my City to make it that much more interesting...

Due to the bad weather....communications are down ... so this transmission will be ended shortly ...

I will endevour to return and thank people for comments and to update later when things have calmed down ...

    Ciao and best wishes everyone.
