About This File

A well-lighted place for the sims to relax, reflect and meet in the inner city.

This is the kind of park that people go to on their lunch break, poets and lovers go to dream, plans are sketched, and profound ideas are conceived.   There's a memorial in the center just for the purpose of remembering, and gazebos and fountains among the trees.

I would get rid of the seagull, pigeon, and cow/llama generators. The Seagull and pigeon generators/animations are notoriously CPU intensive (read: inefficient) and cause slow downs (large zones of garbage dumps used to crash lesser computers due to the seagulls flying overhead).

I'm also not too keen on the hang gliders, simply because of the location (community park not near a hill/cliff/dropoff?) that the park is likely to be placed in.

I think I will download it just to see what it looks like with all my replacement mods (no Maxis trees, parking textures, car family props, etc.), but I'd have recommended you use at least a few custom props and textures anyways, just because the Maxis ones so poorly represent reality, but I'm not gonna knock you for that choice. I'm not sure what's going on with the lit commercial signs, though. That's kinda odd.

Thanks for the feedback.

I put those llamas in there and then they showed up after I finished the lot and was testing and re-testing it --I'd forgot about them.  I just took the llamas out and saved it in LE, and I have to start all over again with defining the lot.  I  wanted the park to be lively, and fit into residential/commercial as in the inner city, but I understand about the automata as too much.  I think, other than people in the park, just one pigeon automata will suffice, its not as intense as the seagulls.  The hang-glider is illogical for sure.  I wanted a couple of lit up signs in there, and that's how the ticket stands got there --all I could find in the Maxis vanilla props.   I'm going to edit the lot and post a revision.    I kind of like the idea of continuing to work on 'city parks' that people are used to in urban areas.
