About This File

Eureka Tower, Melbourne Australia

Eureka Tower is a 297m, 91 story residential apartment building located in Southbank, Melbourne. Completed in 2006, Eureka Tower is distinctive for its blue and white striping, as well as its 24 carat gold plated glass windows on the top 10 floors of the building.

The 88th floor of the Eureka Tower has the highest public observation deck in a building in the Southern Hemisphere (source: wikipedia)

This is my 2nd BAT.

Functional Landmark, Residential occupancy is 8504. The lot is 5x6. High Wealth, costing §110,000 to build.

Available in both Darknite and Maxis night versions. (xx_DM & xx_MN respectively)

There are no Prop dependencies, although the Darknite version will require SimFox_Day_n_Nite_Modd installed.

I look forward to hearing your comments.

Please check out my upcoming Melbourne BAT projects on my Bat Thread.

Oh, big thankyou to everyone who provided so much advice and encouragement on this project, Gutterclub and Darn42 especially.

Interesting, I like the shape of the tower. Really outstanding 5/5.

This building appears in the front of the book The Sea and the Summer by George Turner, really great book.

Sorry, I just saw a couple of the comments about the file name. It still worked when I tested it so should just go straight into your plugins folder and should work, but if you want to put the file extension on, its .dat

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

This is probably the best BAT for one's 2nd BAT! Amazing addition to the STEX and I can't wait to see what else you put out!

I remember going up this building when I was in Melbourne its awesome and your model is fantastic. Just remember residential landmarks dilapidate and don't work. So just make it a static landmark or a co$$ plop.

Absolutely fantastic! I live in Melbourne so I see it a lot. It's very realistic.
Next job - Make "The Edge" work! (The glass cube that pokes out of the building on the 88th floor)

Wow what a significant improvement from your last piece. Again with the great use of shimmering glass, only this time the overall textures and modelling is much better. Colours still seem a bit too...loud, a bit too bright however. Excellent modelling, this tower has so many angles it couldn't have been an easy one to put together. Thanks!

Nice work on Eureka Tower. Looks awesome. I'll have to find a spot somewhere in my Geelong for it. Keep up the good work.
PS. I hope your going to do the Arts Center. That would look cool.
May I ask what the file extension is or should be? How do I get it into my plug-ins folder? All I get when I open the zip file is the file name but nothing else. I really look forward to using this building as it is quite exceptional and high quality. Thanks
You simply have that stupid Windows option "hide file extension for known file types" checked - it's checked by default. Since some software on your computer probably has the file type .dat associated to it, you will not see what is really there - "example.dat" - , but instead you will see what Windows and that software thinks you should see - "example" (Stupid application file). Deactivating this option is among the first things I do when I get a new OS. It is really annoying, confusing, and can be dangerous when you need to make sure you send/delete the right files.

But now for something on topic: This is truly a spectacular upload! Reaching such a quality level with the second BAT is a feat that only few people can pull off, and I'd like to add that you have not only made a breathtaking BAT, but also managed to make a really nice lot for it, especially considering that you only used Maxis content. :) The lot complements the building very well.

In short, this is superb quality all around, and I already have a place reserved for it in my plugins folder. Thank you very much for sharing this beauty with us! :golly:

My only concern is that it's a Ploppable Residential building, which tend to not work.
Otherwise, it's fantastic and I've made a Stage 9 Growable CAMeLOT version for myself!
