About This File

Courthouse, by Mattb325.

A fictional courthouse executed in brick, slate and stone, suitable for towns and suburban streets.

This courthouse has been modded very similarly to the in-game courthouse and provides a landmark effect and relief cap for R$$/R$$$ and CO$$ jobs.

Like the in-game courthouse, this is found in the Rewards menu.

This building however, does not have a reward requirement and can be plopped more than once in a city.

Power consumed = 50 Mwh/month

Water consumed = 8 Gallons/month

Pollution (Air/Water/Garbage) = 2/1/11 per month

Pollution Radius (Air/Water) = 2/3 tiles

To install, simply unzip the model and lot files into your plugins folder.

It is great to have more older and historic looking buildings in the game. This one looks beautiful. Thank you for the work.

Not very many new courthouses come around. You are just the right person for the job! Utterly gorgeous building, and love the historic architecture. I can't wait for the reward to show. Thank you for creating this!

The heavily rusticated stonework and eclectic Victorian design are a gorgeous combination. Unfortunately it doesn't translate as nicely in the game: the whole project looks a bit cartoony. And whats with the two off-centre doors? You'd be hard-pressed to find a pre-war courthouse with an entrance like that.

Minor issues though, I'll be downloading this in a couple seconds make no doubt about it. You'd done an excellent job with this.

In this specific case, what makes that thing feel "cartoony" might be the specific texturing of the said materials done by the author on this specific model - not, for sure, the combination of those materials IRL or in game!

@MattB325:

I really like the architecture, the model, and i would like to say that i'd like it's texturing as much. However, i think it actually looks a bit too saturated, especially as far as the stonework part is concerned.

I don't know if the walls encircling the grass all around the courthouse belong to the reference building you choose to BAT, or if they were part of some prop pack - but, I would say that a wall that borrow it's materials and (partially) it's design from the building could have been a better choice - what about, for example, a building made by brown brick, with stone around the gate and on the parapet?

All in all i would say it's a great addition to the game - interesting architecture, also different from other BAts performing similar functions, you said it was modded similar to the game courthouse so i guess you might use it in place of it, and nice LOTing.

a surprise, like it lots... is this considered beaux-arts architecture?.... I would that U had a couple of models that can be used as town hall [for the smaller city]/ city-hall [to 'replace' the maxis models]... despite the wish list its a neat model 5/5

Gorgeous. Anyone who tells you otherwise should be held in contempt of court, fined, and sentenced with the utmost vigor...
