Opera House Fix  1.0

About This File

This mod fixes the Opera House, which has a capacity MUCH too lowfor large cities in SimCity 4. Currently, the Opera House can go overcapacity and inhibit city growth, and you'd never even know it because the Opera House doesn't report its usage statistics. This mod changes that. Please see the readme for full details, including installation instructions.

Most of the discussion about this mod has taken place in the following thread, so it may be best to post questions or comments there:

@ Lemonchicken - The forum link has probably been dead for years, thanks to either a hacking of a forum redesign. Or both.

The description mentions that its not sure if it functions for Rush Hour. can anyone confirm it does work in RH as well?

@dutchneworleanian - Please reread the included readme. I specifically indicate in the readme that it DOES work with Rush Hour or Deluxe. It is the original Vanilla SC4 I was never able to test for compatibility.

This is a very cool Mod. It must have taken a while to figure out how to create it. Just simply amazing. Thanks so much for making it. I think it goes with out saying but this is truly a 5 star mod.

Fixes a problem I didn't even know I had, and I'm grateful for it. Works extremely well. 5/5 stars. Thanks!

I am so glad for this.

I'm also glad that it isn't limiting my cities. The Opera House has 51k patrons, with the max at 27.5k. That has to be one crowded place!

I wasn't even aware there was an issue with the opera house!

that just shows how much of a noob I am.

thank you.

This is a pretty awesome fix - in the city I first tested it in vacancies went from 270K to 0.  I had no idea these things were dragging demand down.   Well documented with clear instructions... a little bit of a pain if you have existing structures, but well worth the effort.

I've always known this was a problem but never quite figured out why. (I always thought that the opera house effects made more sense with the country club than the opera house.)

Now I can bring culture to my Sims in peace.
