  1. Regional Tracking Mod

can you tell me what mod you mean? do you have a link to the mod you are refering to?
  2. Help please

Hi Marc, looks like a nice industrial pod you have there, main question is. how many residents do you have, if you only have 200 of them , thats not enough to fill all the jobs you have created there. If you want those jobs filled by workers from neighbours you will need good transportation connections to them, think of roads/avenues/highways or rail connections with stations near your industry and the residential areas where they live. For our understanding, maybe you can show a picture of the demand graph? edit to my previous post, looks like you have just started, it always does take a little while for workers to realize there are jobs available, so maybe waiting a couple of months will allready improve things for you as well.
  3. Non regional play

Region play will also help you in getting your city bigger, it will give a boost to commerce and industry, so why would you not use it?
  4. I've been playing SC4 since I was 13...I'm now 21!

Wow thats a nice bunch of stories here. I have played the whole series, simcity, simcopter, sc 2000, sc3000 and am still playing Rushhour. (i'm 37 now) Back when sc2000 just came out i was so hooked on it, i secretly installed it on a pc in the computer lab at college I then moved to the USA for a while and bought a new copy as i missed it too much. Ever since sc4 is out I'm loving it and always return to it. Thanks to the amazing custom content this game has unlimited possibilities, it's the ultimate sandbox. I so hope a new version will come out or at least an upgrade to the current game...just to update it to dual or quad core capabilities and fix some of the issues... I am sure i will still play this game in another 10 years
  5. Opera House Fix

The description mentions that its not sure if it functions for Rush Hour. can anyone confirm it does work in RH as well?
  6. Trees

Never paid attention to them, it is about time to watch what whappens to my god mode trees - my feeling is that most of the god mode trees get destroyed by the development i build there with the planted trees afterwards i have never noticed them dissapearing, so this will be interesting!
  7. Pump and Scoot

Lol, I totally forgot about the maxis gas stations, I donwloaded a set of service stations from the stex and have been plopping those ever since..
  8. My city is boring

when i started of playing the game i used to play grids, then starting experimenting with neighborhouds, and now finally I am trying organic growth. thats what makes this game so good, it's a sandbox, you can do whatever you want and enjoy just reread your question, what you could do is try to recreate industrial parks, nice zones of industry surrounded by fences or walls with lots of greens around, offfcoarse with good wide acces roads/avenues, maybe even rail acces etc. the same offcoarse for commercial zones, try recreating strip malls, nice big american style malls, or the local gasstation, mcdonalds etc. Try the setx for good reallife buildings! have fun! (edit:second paragraph added)
  9. To NAM or not to NAM?

Nam is the part that they forgot to put in simcity, but if they would have thought about it should and would have been part of the origional release... Once you have played with it you will never want to go back. (next to nam I would recommend getting dirt roads as well ) have fun!
  10. UDI or no UDI that is the question (poll, please vote)

I also always turn it of directly when i start a city, as i think of it, wouldn't it be nice if you could set a default setting in the region view for all your cities withtin this region? like UDI off, years to change building style xx number of years etc.?
  11. Chapter 15 - Big Plans For Whitevale (OPINION NEEDED)

nice cj, personally i would start with only a two lane rural highway, the most realistic option, allowing for a great project upgrading this connection once it becomes congested. good luck!, looking forward to your next update
  12. How do i start doing natural growth cities...

there is a good article about it on csg's forum; Proposed Article Content wrote: What is Natural Growth? There's a lot of confusion about what Natural Growth actually is, with many people confusing it for things like Self-Funded Growth, or even Sand-Box Growth to create a city in a "naturalistic" form. To properly define Natural Growth, it is important to clarify the other types of game play which it is being confused with. There are two main-stay ways of playing Simcity 4 (not counting the specific styles being produced by many players such as Synoecism, etc) The two "traditional" types of game-play are: Sand-Box Growth Self-Funded Growth What is Sand-Box Growth? Sand-Box Growth is diametrically opposite of Self-Funded Growth. Sand-Box Growth is where the city-builder uses cheats (such as money cheats), easy settings, etc, to endlessly fund the creation of a "perfect", "ideal", or "modeled" city. More often than not these cities are a showcase for custom-content, or layout ideas (such as transit corridor layouts), and do not need or want to focus on whether the city as a whole reacts and develops as a city actually would.
  13. How do i start doing natural growth cities...

hi, me personally i start a region by building one road throughout the region, building farms along it and small plots of houses in between them. Then start extending this by adding small plots for commercial, and industrial. For me the characteristics of natural growth are that it slowly extends out of a current situation. hence you will convert a farm into a plot of residential, and once traffic demands it build a bypass or upgrade a road. There are a couple of good cj's out there that show this as well. I think CSGdesign's Natural Growth is one prime example of well practiced natural growth, look for his cj and enjoy! good luck, and have fun. Natural growth might take a bit longer but is very rewarding as it looks right!
  14. Infrastructure 101

Nice new update!  could you tell me which two lots you are using here in the last pic? the one for the forestry and the other rail/industrial lot?
  15. The small town of Invernessen + free teaser

for the power plant i would start of with a small generator, like the one from Pegasus the  PEG MTP LTUSA Container Generator   or the  SFBT Rural Power Supply  from Andreas Roth both available on the stex. for the stores i would love to see some NIMBY shops like the ones in the stex from madhater106 the  Naughty NIMBY Pack Volume 1 looking forward to seeing the new development taking place, keep up the good work!!
