About This File

In older versions of SimCity the powerlines didn't look like high-voltage power lines. In SimCity 4, you'll have to use a separate power supply for every rural development when you don't want to disfigure your landscape with huge ugly masts. The SFBT rural power lines will make this obsolete. You can use them along a road or straight across the country. Since the base texture of this lots is transparent, they will match with any terrain texture you have installed.

Important note: The power lines can only be used on perfectly flat terrain, otherwise the props won't align anymore.

The lots can be found in the lower part of the utilities - power menu. The set contains the following lots:

  • straight power line - 1 tile long
  • straight power line - 2 tiles long
  • straight power line - 4 tiles long
  • corner
  • T junction
  • end piece with terminal box
  • powerline piece to cross streets, roads, oneway roads and railway lines

Thisdownload comes with an EXE installer; Mac users can use FileJuicer to extract the files.

Absolutely great - that's exactly what I always disliked about the standard power lines. These here are a great addition.

@thegrindre: Of course they carry power, and they do it also on uneven ground (like every other lot). But as I wrote, it will look odd when the power lines aren't visually connected. Unfortunately, this is something that cannot be helped.

Thank you. This question probably doesn't belong here but I'm asking it anyway. Is there a tool that one of you guys made that will flatten one square in the game? It could be used to level the ground for these poles...

@ thegrindre - yeah, use single street tiles. @ andreas - these are OUTSTANDING! My compliments on a job very well done.

Hmm, it is what i needed, but why are the rural power lines plopable? is there a way you can make it drag and build like the standard power lines? great work btw.

@desz02091: Unfortunately, nobody has found a way to replace the in-game power lines yet. @Simonuts: These are normal lots, so you can plop them next to a rail line or whatever. It may be possible to put them directly on the network tiles, but I don't know how to do that. ;-)

why it is somewhat annoying in how you have to plop them I like these. They are ceratinly a valuable contribution to the STEX.
