  5. PEG Hydroelectric Dam

    It took a bit of doing, though I found a tool which allowed me to shape the landscape just perfect in order to plot this. Works and looks great!! Those commenting OVER AND OVER about the 'curvature' of the Dam should bother to TAKE TIME TO READ!

    Looks great but it doesnt work correctly. If you look at the traffic that uses it, people travel from on end of the station to the other end. No Tram traffic ever leaves this station end though it says it is being used.

    Nevermind....no idea what I was thinking. Had it stick in my head 'railroad' when I read 'swing bridge'...when clearly there is a picture of a vehicle on the bridge. ugh

    Great File! Though not sure why I can not get the Rail to connect to it nor drag over it to use it :( As a side note....Where I live in CT, USA we have a working fairly large swing bridge (though old) that crosses the CT River. I think it is used once a week for a train that passes through there.

    It is a great idea, though from my testing in game so far compared to the present default version (Waste to Energy Plant) it doesnt remove waste :( Is there a bug??

  16. Sorry to bring up an old topic but given the age of the game and the speed of some systems out there currently, this could be an issue....and one of which I just solved at least on my end. Problem.... ---Cars and graphics running very fast regardless of game speed. Solution.... Likely you are running an SLI system. Disable one of the video cards and the game should function as normal. Worked for me.

    Ok...I can see a LOT of request have come in, though I have one that I think is a little unique ...let me try to explain and I will do it in versions from Basic Level 1 to Advanced Level X. Project Oil Tycoon Town RisingSun Oil Addon? Level 1 Design-- First a 2x2 Plop design of an Oil Well Pump should be made with Oil Tanks (Industrial) Picture here. http://www.newcastlewyo.com/ART/ART-town/pumpjack.jpg on the first half of the 2x2 section (1x2 part) you have the Oil Well pump and on the other, you have the Oil Tanks. Level 2 Make the Oil Well Pump animated. --Plop Design costs ($1000 ...the cost of drilling the well) --Income from Plot is $75/month --Moderate Water pollution effect --No road necessary for connection --Power Connection necessary (small electrical cost) --Negative area Residential effect (i.e. Dirty Industrial) Level 3 --Oil Refinery in same area (city/town) increases income by Oil Wells ($25/per month per Oil Well) NOTE: Would be ideal to use CSX Rising Sun Oil Refinery ver. 1 for this, though need to talk to the owner ( decius ) for this file first. Level 4 Make pipe connection from Oil tanks. Allow Pipe connection to Oil Refinery. Connecting oil well to Refinery increases income ($50/per month per Oil Well) NOTE: Would be ideal to use RisingSun Oil City Pipeline Set , again need to talk to the owner ( decius ) for this file first. Level 5 If possible.... Make plot random income number between 0 and 150 (simulate how good of a well it is) --Zero would represent a 'dry hole' and if possible the well do NOT animate or changes to just a pipe sticky out of the ground --Oil Well Plots would 'Decay' over time of 20 years such as Landfills do when you disconnect the roads, though Oil Wells would start decaying from the moment you put them down. --Oil Well/Dry Holes are NOT bullbozeable (can not destroy like landfills, must decay). This would prevent people from just plopping down a bunch and destroying for high income numbers. Thoughts/Comments/Suggestions??
  18. Thanks for the welcome and the info! One more question....Do I need to download and install the other Essentials if I install the NAM? If the NAM doesnt cover all the rest of those do I need or should I get the others, once I get Rush Hour installed?

That is what I figured. I only ran across one file that said it required Rush Hour in the description/read me file so I wasnt sure. I will just have to wait until it (Rush Hour) gets here and try again
  20. OK I am a newbie here. I have been playing MMOs for the past 6 years really and just came back to SimCity. I have SimCity 4 installed but not Rush Hour...not yet, will likely have it tomorrow. Question.... All of the plug-ins I have downloaded with the exception of a few tree plops always show up as these Brown Wrapped Packages. I thought I put everything where it was suppose to go and they do show up in the menus. My first attempt was putting everything in the Plug-ins folders (were the installers which have installers put them) or unzipped there. Nope!...that doesnt work. Then I read more and saw that some said to put DAT files in the Maxis/Plugins folder and all others in the MyDocs/Plugins folder...Nope...no better there. I have all the dependent files for the ones that need them. Obviously I am doing something wrong or is it that I just need Rush Hour installed for these to work? any help would be great!
