Total Overhaul Mod Thoughts
Sontimeister replied to boformer's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
As someone who came from sc4, I support almost every aspect you mentioned. Cities in its current state feels like a beautiful sandbox but not like a game at all. Obviously this is a long list that will take a lot of time to program, so I wonder what happens when the devs decide to release further updates. (prob not gameplay related) A part of Nams success was that EA never released any updates after Rush hour that potentially crash the mod. I think this is an important thing for a successful overhaul just like balancing all the new elements to guarantee a fair challenge at every point. Mod compatibility is also something really important, either by integrating the major ones or getting into contact with the modders and ask them to develop compatible versions. This could also be a big chance to increase the performance of the game if you just need to install one mod instead of up to 50. -
The perfect school building?
Sontimeister replied to Fantozzi's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
Many of these schools, especially the universitaries, look really interesting. I think that the ideal school building depends heavily on it's location. Those big standalone complexes with a big campus are not common in big cities because of the lack of space. I like buildings that are integrated into the cityscape like the secondary school i went to: -
Cities: Skylines - Community Modding Requests
Sontimeister replied to Cyclone Boom's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
I would like to see a mod that increase the chance for row houses to spawn next to row houses and vise versa for detached buildings. It would increase the realism and visual appearance when you're playing with european and international buildings. Don't know how hard it is to code that. -
Environment Colors Changer Mod - RELEASED.
Sontimeister replied to TPB's topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
I think this looks way better than the original one. Maybe you should integrate some presets for people who don't know RGB at all.- 12 Replies

Shroomblaze's Assets (Update 4/3 Brooklyn Bridge Arrives!)

That's really awesome! Do you plan to release more crop types? I think 1x1 could be useful to fill corners. -
Is it possible to mod in seamarks?
Sontimeister posted a topic in Cities: Skylines Modding - Open Discussion
Hello Simtropolis Com, In Cs I love to build big ports with alot of industrial infrastructure. While there are some great collections for container stacks the water itself feels completely dead to me. In the major european ports (Hamburg for example) theres some sort of seamark every 50 meter that make everthing so lively, especially in night. You can get an imagination here: http://map.openseamap.org/ , https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_mark I wonder how easy it is to implement buoys to define the fairway that are placeable on water. Sorry for requesting something without being able to contribute to it. Greets -

This map covers northern germany, southern denmark, eastern netherlands and western poland. Config.bmp gives medium scale cities to: (config preview) Hamburg Kopenhagen Amsterdam Malmö Bremen/Bremerhaven Lübeck Kiel Esbjerg AArhus Rostock Stralsund and polish cities. With some fantasy you could also add Berlin, Hannover and Wolfsburg. There might be an error regarding too much sand / beaches on the map. You can build zones on it but i recommend to remove them manually (one click hills and even terrain) Hope you like it, feedback is wished for.
