It is a good idea to see who like/rate our stuff and i understand that. However, the site owner, in setting up the software, decided to keep things anonymous. It was felt doing it this way would attract more use of the feature plus limit potential abuse. At least those words i remember said by one of the admin when i asked question about this rate/rep thing. Yes, i did ask about this kind of question not long after i joined the site. Just wanna share what i knew and hope this will also answer most of the curiosity. Though this question suppose to be answered by the admin or Dirk himself.

Not that i know of. Modified the lots maybe, but transit enabled to all of them, i don't think so. Some member created quite many relot out there in the STEX. But most of them not to the original maxis buildings. There is actually an Industrial Revolution mod made by T wrecks which change/modified the lots most of the original maxis industrial building. If you're interested it's not so hard to find (you probably knew this already). As for the DVD, well, in my oppinion it's quite good. There are great stuff you won't find in the STEX within. But, this is only my own opinion, the rest is on you.

Not sure why you're having the problem, but farms normally do not required much to grow. They even don't need water at all. Only, you will need at least a neighbour connection to transfer the goods. Just pay attention to the demand and desirabilty, and also, farms will grow perfectly in a new developing city and low polution.

My language seemed to be hard to understand before, sorry about that. Try renaming the rar files to be exactly the same name, only, you should keep the part number different. See if that change anything. For example: ShenzenMusicLibrary.part01, ShenzenMusicLibrary.part02....and so on. (make sure you make a backup of the original files and then give it a test) Note: I have this building quite a long time also from that site, but i didn't had problem when extraction. I think you should now, i just re-download the rar files and it worked fine when i extract them. So, i'm not sure what problem you're having.

@Bdub: It (HT) grows like fungus in my industrial city. But it took time, of course. @superbacon: you missed one important point from your list. Neighbour Connection. Your industrial stuff will be going nowhere without it. -
I cannot see that as an error. The second picture indicated that you have different name of rar files, and that stop you automatically while extracting the files. When you got different name of rar files, even it's only one single letter, this is what will happen. Extraction is very sensitive in reading the rar files' name. What you need to do is click "browse", find the next part of the rar file, click that rar file to continue the extraction. In this case, judging by your picture, you will need part03. I'm sure you've downloaded all the parts, so you will get this building work, eventually.

Well, actually HT(High-Tech) if i understand you guys correctly, is not always need to be put near the residential area. I mean, i have many HT in my cities and not all of them actually near the residential. Most of them even grow in my industrial city (no residential at all). The HT will of course required the residential for jobs matter. But what they(HTs) really need are evergreen desirabilty, adequate education level and neighbour connections. Because you can have a million resident, but if those residents are lack of education or your city is full of trash, polluted or anything that infected desirability, then your HT will not last long or even won't grow. The requirement of HT is almost the same as Residential (especially R$$$), however, but that's not make them need to be put side by side. -

Simcity china is the last place you can find that building (not sure if that's available in the other site though). I downloaded that building and it works just fine. So, you probably having problem while downloading the rar files.

In any case, Welcome to Simtropolis. Again, this is only a matter of patience. The way you played in SC2000 or SC3000 cannot simply be applied to SC4. Believe me, those are different. There are lots of tutorial here in this community or even out there about how to play this game in the right way. Blaming the game is not the right way to learn or get to know more about the game itself. Learning process takes great patience. The omnibus and will prove useful in this cirsumstances. Mods will not help you play the game correctly. It is all depends on how you managed the city. You can still play the game even without any mod at all. Find your way in playing the game first and after that you can start to think of what mod will suit you and the way you play. -

When you installed mods that required Hardware rendering, then you have no choice but to accept the lag. My system run in 3.0ghz, but even that doesn't help much when the city grows bigger, so...i learn to live with this.
